La thailande, ca a l air tres beau mais je n ai que 2 semaines et j ai peur de ne pas pouvoir voir assez de choses, de plus, angkor est un site que j ai vraiment envie de voir mais le cambodge est il assez sûr?😕? peut on y aller en independant ou vaut il mieux la securite de la thailande?? merci d avance...😉, olivier

Si je pars pour là bas ce sera octobre et ce pour une durée de 3 semaines. Premier tripe et je suis extrément motivée! Seulement étant de la gente féminine et ayant 18 ans, je me demande si c'est la bonne destination pour une première? Est ce que la saison est agréable? Est ce qu'il faut prévoir un gros bugdet tout en sachant que je préfère une petite chambre sympa qu'un hotel grand luxe?

nous avons une grande envie de soleil, et avons décidé de partir fin avril début mai 2014, pour environ 9 jours. Budget: 4000 à 4500€. Nous sommes avec 2 enfants de 10 et 8 ans qui adorent la mer et la plage. Nous n'aimons pas quand il y a plein de monde et quand c'est tout bétonné, mais nous ne sommes pas non plus des sauvages qui fuyons la foule; on a rien contre les ptits restos animés le soir par exemple. Au début nos choix se tournaient vers les Antilles françaises, mais niveau budget, ça ne semblait pas rentrer (à moins que, si vous voyez que c'est possible, nous sommes preneurs), puis on a regardé la Rép dominicaine, mais les critiques sur les complexes hoteliers all inclusive semblent souvent sévères; puis la curiosité nous a fait regardé Phuket, Koh tao, ko samui, Koh phangan, et ça a l'air faisable. En fonction de tous ces critères, ainsi que la facilité d'accès, quelle ile thai me conseillez vous? A cette période de l'année que pouvons nous attendre du climat (côté andaman/ côté golfe)?

Quelques jours entre Khophangan et Kho Tao, nous aimerions pouvoir rester sur une petite iles de la réserve maritime de Ang Thong mais je n'arrive pas à trouver de moyen pour faire une réservation d'une tente ou cabane. Si quelqu'un a pu le faire bien vouloir transmettre les coordonnées ou je pourrais réserver. Merci d'avance à tous les routards.

je doit acheter un billet d'avion pour un départ le 30 de ce mois ca urge oui ....j'ai pas de cb a mon nom (perdu il y a 3 j😕) je veux faire vite car il ny a plus bcp de place j ai les numeros de cb d'une personne de ma famille rester en france il y a quelques pays qui autorise l'achat par une autre personne d'un billet d'avion tout dépend de la sécuritée de l areoport ( lu sur le site de emirate) !!! pour un trajet bkk/paris donc a acheter en thailande cela sera t'il possible

Je viens de faire plusieurs fois le tour des messages concernant les parcs nationaux en Thailande et je voudrai passer quelques jours au parc Khao Sok. Cependant je ne me rends pas compte s'il est nécessaire de louer un véhicule pour s'y rendre et profiter pleinement du parc ou si les transports en commun sont suffisants?

D'autre part, les déplacements à l'intérieur du parc ne sont-il pas trop compliqués, voire interdits, par la saison des pluie?

I'm "finalizing" a trip with my adventurous family (wife + 3 kids aged 16, 14, and 8) for this Easter break in Thailand (we'll be there from 04/19 to 05/01).

I'm going through the site and wanted to thank you all for the tips and insights you share on the forum. They're really valuable. But boy, it's tough to sketch out an itinerary

Of course, my backpacking route might be debatable, but I'm trying to target this path to get a first taste of the country's different "facets" and keep everyone in the family happy 😛

For this first trip, we're sticking to the classics and planning to explore a different side of the Land of Smiles in the future:

- arrival in BKK at 4 PM on 04/19 ==> leaving the same day at 7 PM for Chiang Mai (I "hesitated" with the 5:30 PM flight but was worried we wouldn't have enough time to switch from British AW to Thai Airways + airport fees + baggage + customs, etc. )

- from 04/20 to 04/23 ==> Chiang Mai with the main highlights (we've picked: Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat, elephant sanctuary, Doi Inthanon, the old city, Wat Chedi, Wat Phra Singh).

==> For the elephant sanctuary: any recommendations? Morning or afternoon visit?

==> It might seem ambitious, but we're considering a day trip to Chiang Rai—though it's not a must. Yes, we know it means ~6 hours of travel in one day.

- direct flight on the morning of 04/24 to Krabi ==> Railay - Phang Nga ==> this part isn't finalized yet (we won't stay in Krabi).

For those who've been there, which part of the south would be best weather-wise during this period?

We'd stay in the south until 04/28 and take a 8 PM flight to BKK.

- BKK on 04/29, 04/30, and part of 05/01 before our flight to London at 11 PM.

We'll hit the must-see/classic spots there.

If you have time to share some insights, I'd really appreciate it.

For my trip to Thailand with two teens aged 13 and 16, do you have any info or tips to share? I’d like to go jet skiing, either in Phuket or Koh Samui, but I’d need at least two jet skis since there are three of us. Can my 16-year-old ride alone? Is it better to rent on-site or book an all-inclusive excursion online or in person?

Here’s my account of our trip to Thailand with my partner from November 22 to December 5, 2025. First off, I’d like to wish all Voyageforum.com users a very happy 2026, full of happiness and amazing discoveries on your travels! It’s thanks to the tips I gathered on this site that I planned the trip. We traveled with Malaysia Airlines (the flight price was great, but no movies in French, not even subtitled) because we wanted to explore Kuala Lumpur and visit southern Thailand. Our departure from Roissy was delayed because the plane had to go through the robotic de-icing trucks—pretty impressive! After a 12-hour flight, we arrived at the beautiful Kuala Lumpur airport around 7 AM.



Don’t forget to fill out the immigration form requested by Malaysia 3 days before arrival. We left without any issues and took the Klia Ekspress train to KL Sentral station (30 minutes, 10 €). We’d booked accommodation in a tower near the station and had to communicate with the landlord to get the keys. But while we thought there’d be Wi-Fi at the station, there wasn’t—we asked the tourism office, and they said there wasn’t any. We didn’t want to buy a local SIM card since we were leaving the next day. Eventually, we went to a Starbucks to get online, but just as we decided to head to our place, a torrential downpour hit, and we couldn’t find a sidewalk to reach our destination. We went back to the station, took the elevated metro, and finally made it to our landlord and the room on the 45th floor.

If I book for 58 days like last time and they change the rules last minute, what happens? It takes forever to get a visa—I saw you have to prove you have enough funds to cover your stay. Hi, I’m planning a trip to Thailand from April 1st to 24th. I’m flying with Qatar Airways. My passport is valid until October 7th, 2025. My question: For entry into Thailand, my passport is valid for more than 6 months (6 months and 6 days). For my exit, my passport’s validity will be 5 months and 14 days. Hi there, I bought a flight ticket with Air India departing from Paris and arriving in Bangkok with a layover in Delhi. I didn’t include my third given name when booking, but it’s on my passport. Could this cause a problem at boarding?

Also, with an 8-hour layover in Delhi—no need to recheck bags or leave the international zone—do I need an Indian transit visa?

For my upcoming trip to Thailand, I’ve narrowed it down to Emirates and Air India and would love to hear recent feedback from members who’ve flown with them.

I’ve noticed on several sites that reviews for both airlines are pretty negative. I’m not surprised about Air India, but I read they’ve been acquired.

I flew Emirates twice in 2018 and was surprised by the drop in recent reviews. It almost makes me think of Etihad, which I initially liked but then declined (I’m not sure what their situation is like now).

Almost everything’s in the title, but just to clarify: As far as I know, you currently need a full French motorcycle license (A) to legally ride a scooter in Thailand, since they don’t recognize A1 or A2 licenses. Yes, I know most rental places only ask for an international car license (B), or sometimes nothing at all… but that’s not what I’m asking. What I’d like to know is whether you think this might change in the future, allowing A1 licenses (which are easier to get) or even car licenses (B), since you can ride a scooter in France with one. I don’t want to get a motorcycle license—I’m scared of motorcycles, even though I’m comfortable on a scooter. I’m a bit confused by their regulations. Thanks for any insights you can share!

This would be our first big family trip, and we’re looking to mix discovery, a change of scenery, some relaxation, and cultural immersion. We want to avoid overly organized tours or over-touristed destinations. Over 20 years ago, Fanny and I used to travel as a couple with backpacks, especially in India and Mongolia, but things have surely changed a lot since then. Now, we’re torn between: • Thailand: for its diversity (beaches, temples, nature) and accessibility for a first family trip. • Laos-Cambodia combo: for a potentially more authentic immersion, but we’re wondering if it’s well-suited for kids. - Sri Lanka: it seems amazing and family-friendly? Is the political situation stable enough? We have a few questions:

Which destination would you recommend for this kind of family setup? What itineraries might work for two weeks without feeling too rushed?

Logistics-wise: can we travel with a round-trip flight ticket, book a few basic hotels, and improvise the rest once we’re there? Or do we need to plan everything in advance (transport, accommodations, activities) for this time of year?
