Salut, je pars en Australie pour 1 mois dans 3 mois ! Avec mon amie, on compte passé 15 jours à descendre la côte est, de Cairns à Sydney. On souhaiterait pour cela louer un camping-car. Je suis en train de preparer mon voyage pour le costa rica pour la periode du mois de mars, et j'aurais voulu des info.( location de voiture ou 4*4( voir pour une bonne adresse s'il y a!!), les endroits primordiaux a visiter, les pieges a eviter...

Nous comptons l'été prochain rejoindre le nord de la namibie (traversée du Botswana), le Kaokoland plus exactement. Cette région encore très sauvage n'est pas d'un accès très aisée et donc demande une grande autonomie. Ayant avec mon épouse une certaine expérience de l'Afrique, nous faisons ce voyage avec notre fille de 10 ans pour lui faire découvrir "autre chose". Cette région est exceptionnelle par sa faune, ses paysages mais surtout sa population locale, les Himbas. Ce périple va durer 3 semaines et le trajet va se découper en trois parties : 5 jours d'approche tranquille (traversé du Botswana), 10 jours dans le Kaokoland (essentiellement en bivouac), 5 jours de retour réadaptation vers johanesbourg @+

I’m planning a trip to the High Atlas in Morocco and have a few questions for you: - Why do so many people recommend avoiding international agencies for car rentals? Can anyone explain why? - Is Booking.com reliable, and has anyone rented a vehicle through their service? There’s a pretty big price difference compared to local Moroccan agencies. - Is there a detailed road map included in the rental car? - Is Google Maps enough to get around the High Atlas? This will be my first trip there.

Outrageous and completely unacceptable experience with SIXT Funchal! JUNE 2026 During our trip to Madeira, we had pre-booked and prepaid a deposit online for a vehicle to pick up at the SIXT agency in Funchal via the "discovercar.com" website. Upon arrival, we were faced with an employee whose behavior was unacceptable, aggressive, disdainful, and completely contrary to what you’d expect from a hospitality professional. She outright refused to hand over the vehicle, claiming that my husband’s paper driving license wasn’t allowed under SIXT’s rules. The most shocking part is that the explanations given on the spot seemed dishonest and in bad faith. We’ve rented vehicles in several European Union countries with this same license without ever encountering any issues. If SIXT doesn’t accept paper licenses, this condition should have been clearly stated before booking—and especially before taking our money. We only discovered this so-called condition once we were there, after traveling and having already paid part of the rental. What followed was particularly painful: we had to return to the agency to get a refusal certificate. Fortunately, we had recorded the conversation, which allowed us to keep proof of the exchanges and push forward with our complaints. After many back-and-forths and three months of waiting, we finally got our money back thanks to discover.com’s customer service, who supported us in our efforts—otherwise, the SIXT agency would have continued to deny our visit, and we would have considered legal action. This situation is simply scandalous. When you arrive in Madeira for a vacation, you certainly don’t expect to be greeted with such aggression, disdain, and bad faith. We sincerely hope this person will no longer be in contact with customers, as her behavior was particularly shocking and seriously ruined our experience. We strongly advise against using the SIXT agency in Funchal. If you want to avoid bad surprises, conflicts, and a terrible customer experience, steer clear. For our part, SIXT Funchal: NEVER AGAIN!

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.

This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general. Hi, Back from South Africa since 24/10/25, we’re having trouble getting our deposit back after renting a car at Cape Town Airport with Pace Car Rental through Carwiz! It’s still a sum over 1000 €!! Lots of email exchanges via WhatsApp where they send me the refund proof dated 25/11, but my bank can’t find any trace of it!! Just to clarify, the car was returned without a scratch, as they confirmed! Has anyone else run into this issue with this rental company, or others for that matter? And if it’s a scam, what are the possible courses of action? I’m hoping there are some… I was thinking of contacting our Consulate in Cape Town to see if they can help with the next steps or even intervene with this rental company! I still have my old French driver’s license (the pink paper version, still valid),

I didn’t have time to get an International Driving Permit (IDP),

And I plan to use a Visa debit card, not a credit card.

I’ve booked a car with Budget. I’ve seen that they *can* accept debit cards under certain conditions, especially at airport locations, but there are often high hold amounts for the deposit, and sometimes requirements like a return ticket or an extra ID. - Has anyone rented a car in the US under these conditions before? - Was the paper license accepted without any issues? - Did the debit card cause problems when putting down the security deposit? However, the rental agencies we’ve found prohibit driving on the tracks to Omalo (Tusheti) and/or Ushguli (Svaneti). Do you know of any agencies in Tbilisi (local and reliable) that allow rented 4x4s to drive on these tracks? If so, which ones?

Nous partons en Crête pour 15 jours.

Nous souhaitions louer la voiture par internet comme nous l avons déjà fait pour d autres destinations. Cependant, nous avons quelques craintes.

Il n y a pas de super commentaires sur les prestataires, en l occurrence deux où nous avons trouvé le véhicule qui nous conviendrait: Caldeira et Sk Rent.

De plus, de nombreux prestataires demandent des cartes de crédit, hors nous avons des cartes de débit. Nous avons un peu peur de la mauvaise surprise sur la note si nous réservons avec ces cartes malgré cette indication.

Auriez vous des conseils svp sur de bons prestataires ou sur les deux sites qui sont peut être très bien, ainsi que pour les cartes débit/crédit ?
