A Bangkok court has officially ordered the popular Suan Lum Night Bazaar closed, the Crown Property Bureau said on Tuesday. The next step will be to force out the hundreds of tenants to clear the land for what appears to be the building of a mall and hotel complex.

"It is the intention of Crown Property Bureau to comply with the court order and to carry out this order as stated, " said the Crown Property Bureau in a statement.

Any tenants who refuse to leave the hugely popular night market next to Lumpini Park could face "seizure, arrest or imprisonment, " said the agency in an advertisement notice printed in several Thai-language newspapers.

When the Crown Property Bureau signed a long-term lease on a large chunk of the site with mall developer Central Pattana last year, many newspapers reported that Central proposed to build Thailand's tallest building, a hotel and a shopping mall on the site, a former military academy.

Property company P Con Development took a short-term lease on the site in 2000, and opened the night bazaar in 2001.

There are reportedly 3, 000 shops, restaurants and snack bars in the complex, and the Joe Louis Puppet Theatre, a unique attraction.

According to the newspaper advertisement, the Southern Bangkok Civil Court ruled on Jan 30 that the P Con lease had legally expired and it must leave the site.

P Con refused to leave the area after the original lease expired in 2004, according to the Crown Property Bureau, and ignored extensions to the lease which were intended to give the shopkeepers time to wrap up their businsesses and move on.

The bazaar has remained open every night despite the legal dispute, and shop owners report they continue to pay rent to P Con.

Je cherche des campings sympas en corse ouverts pendant les vacances de paques, un dans le sud (du coté de bonifacio) et un dans le nord du coté du cap, de préférence dans l'arrière pays de manière à pouvoir rayonner facilement. Si possible des endroits simples dans la nature, pas de piscine et truc de ce genre.Ou bien des chambres d'hotes/gites pas trop chers. Merci

Connaissez vous une compagnie qui effectue un tour de 2 jours au grand canyon depuis Las Vegas en bus. Sachant qu il est difficile d acceder au grand canyon en transport public, je pensais prendre un tour de deux jours libre. Je pars en Jordanie dans 3 semaines. J'ai fait il y a une semaine une demande de visa à entrées multiples à l'ambassade à Paris (je vais faire un petit passage par la Syrie et visiter notamment Damas et Palmyre).

Je viens de recevoir les passeports envoyés par l'ambassade de Jordanie. J'ai constaté que sur le visa il y avait 11 DJ en timbre. Je suis un peu surpris car je pensais que la valeur des timbres serait plus élevée.

J'ai un peu peur qu'ils ne m'aient mis qu'un visa simple entrée (pour information, j'ai payé 31, 5 euros pour ce visa) 🤪

Comment fait-on pour s'assurer que c'est bien un visa à entrées multiples ?

Je viens de passer 1 heure a répondre en detail a une question sur la descente de l'Amazone en bateau depuis Iquitos jusqu'à Belem (en venant du machu-pichu). Après un tel élan d'écriture (exceptionnel pour moi !) je pense que les infos peuvent interesser pas mal de gens. Donc, voici une copie de ma réponse (en anglais pas parfait, desolé !):-- Well this is exactly what i have done 1.5 yaers ago. It was really fanstastic as you see some of the amazone affluents near machu pichu and it's amazing to think you meet the same water 3000 km later in Iquitos ... until the Atlantic sae if you patient!

Well, you really need time in fact, but you can stop in a few Amazon cities easily as you have to change several times to other boats.

The price of the plane is higher in Brazil than in peru, so if you want to keep some time, it's better to fly in peru and use boat in Brazil.

I remember the price for a Cusco -> Lima -> Iquitos ticket was 128 dollards with is quite few if you consider you fly maybe 2500 km over the forest (with is really impressive). Spend a while in Iquitos (2, 3 days) and you can do some better Amazonia excursions here (5 to 10 days and more) than later i think as the forest is better conserved here and it's less touristic. Once in Iquitos you have to go to the Brazilian frontier (laeticia / Tabatinga) witch is in fact the same divided city): You can use an express boat (8 hours and 50 dollards more or less), or a normal boat (cheaper but 24 hours may be more), or even plane (1h30 and 70 dollards if y remember well). Then you can spend a while in Laeticia(colombian part)/Tabatinga(Brazilian part) to visit too and breeze the Indian Atmosphere. It's a really animated world lost city in fact. Just during the colombian hollydays or Brazilian Hollydays it's more crowded as a lot of colombian come for on of the unique secured colombian amazone start point for excursions (colombian/Brazilian hollydays usually in Jully and December ). Seems there is some good excursions too here but some are returning close from Iquitos so it's better to do them there (in Iquitos). From Laeticia/Tabatinga to Manaus, you have 2 options : By plane from Tabatinga Airport (more or less 300 dollards one way to Manaus for 2 or 3 hours), or by boat (100 dollards, for 4 to 5 days with food included on board, in "Hamocs" class like most of the people !). This can seems long, and it can be for some people. But if you like to meet people and speak spanish or Portugues you'll enjoy it (like me!!). The boat is sometime far from the border of the river, and sometime close so you can or can't see o lot of things, but it stops in a few small lost cities (yes cities ! with no roads going to them!), and people are coming in while other are leaving the boat each time, so it's kind of animated. When i was there, there was colombians, Brazilians, europeans ... a big mix and i really spent good days speaking and drinking (a little bit! ). The boats have usually a few cabins too ("camarotes"), for 2 persons, if you wich to keep your things more secure or need more intimity, but it's twice or 3 times the hamoc class price. They all have bathrooms/toilets (with amazone water) and a bar with music on top. Food and water included, but drinks not. Better to drink mineral water too.

Note that you could cut your trip to Manaus in two parts (more or less equals) and go first to Téfé if you want to visit. Haven't been there, but there is some national reserves and probably good excursions too. Most of the boats stops there anyway so ... you just have to choose your destination in Tabatinga. Once in Manaus, you have to take another boat to continue, so you can also spend some time downtown. It's a nice city, swiming in Indian culture and modern in the same time (because of defiscalization lows). I loved it. From Manaus to Belem by plane : more or less 300 dollards again for 2 hours (more one of timezone change) or .... by boat: 5 days to Belem for again 100 dollards food included. But i think you should cut it in two and stop in Santarem (2.5 days) down on the Amazone river. It's a nice quiet city with nice beach on Tapajos rio "Alter do chao". Then you can easily take another boat to Belem (2-3 days) or Macapa (same duration).

Here : important notice : The PARINTINS CARNAVAL : If you are here at the end of June, you can't miss the " Bois de Parintins", an extraordinary Amazonian carnaval during 5 days in the Parintins Island (down 2 boat days on the Amazone river from Manaus). It's between MAnaus and Santarem so you can stop and continue after to Santarem. It's really incredible and beautifull and may be like the Rio carnaval (Yes i said it!!!) but with Indian touch. Really fantastique. Problem the city of Parintins is small and hotels booked sometimes one year before at really expensive prices! (may be 5 times the normal price and only for the 5 full days of carnaval, not less). If you are in Manaus a few days before, a lot of Amazone boats are stoping there usuals trips to go to Parintins island. You can then book a ticket to Parintins easilly. The price (30 dollards for the cheapers) include usually the return ticket Manaus -> Parintins -> Manaus and you can stay onboard at night to sleep in hamocs during the 5 days of the carnaval as the boats they there during all the carnaval time. Again, there are some cabins too, but with "carnaval special prices" the cheapest are ussually 100 dollards for one persone (this time) and until 400 dollards, for 5 days. If you are in Manaus in time you should go there by boat, sleeping on it, and then continuing to Santarem and Belem. Or you can also catch a plane from Parintins to Santarem and Belem, as i 've done (missing time) but it's more expensive too and you have to reserve early for the carnaval time.

Well, that's all i think. You have also a nice boat trip from Belem to Macapa and return (30 hours) witch goes throw MArajo Island and pass closed from the river border so it's easy too see the Indians small villages and houses.

If other questions, i am staying in touch. Personnaly i had done Iquitos -> Laeticia by plane, and Tabatinga -> Manaus by Boat, and Manaus -> Parintins by boat again ... and finished by plane until Belem. It does 7 days of boat. 5 days of Carnaval and the rest to visit the cities (laeticia, Manaus... Belem) and take plane. I visited Santarem on an other time coming from Macapa so i have travelled all the Amazone until Peru finally !

Here’s my feedback after a recent trip to Ethiopia, organized with a local guide.

Despite a signed quote, months of prep exchanges (over eight months!), and phone calls right up to departure day, the guide didn’t honor the commitments we’d agreed on.

Haile Haftu FANUAILE, manager of the agency www.charmethiopiantours.com—who we’d organized everything with—didn’t meet us as promised when we arrived in Addis Ababa. Without any warning, he sent a different guide to accompany us for the entire trip (with a flimsy excuse).

Several parts of the signed quote weren’t respected:

– Services included in the quote but not provided on-site (meals, water), – Hotels we’d chosen, booked, and paid for were swapped for lower-category places, – Visits were canceled because the timing wasn’t calculated properly, – One stop on the itinerary was dropped without any reason or explanation.

We’d paid a deposit for domestic flights, with a promise to refund any overpayment. A month after returning, 150 € per person (there were three of us) still hasn’t been refunded.

I’m sharing this to warn fellow travelers about the importance of solid guarantees to ensure contracts are actually honored. Double-check everything before committing!

Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to all travelers and globe-trotters on this forum. I’m a teacher in Creuse working in a ULIS program (which welcomes children aged 6 to 12 with disabilities into a mainstream school). This year, I’m launching a school journal project that will involve the kids in many different topics. A big part of this journal will focus on opening up to the world, embracing differences, travel, global cultures, and more.

I’m putting out a call to invite as many of you as possible to send us a postcard (from France or anywhere in the world)! The goal is to help us "travel" and discover new places, countries, and horizons in a way that’s much more fun and exciting than a geography textbook. One section of our journal could be called "We received a letter from ," where we’d research the location and share what we learn with our readers—a really enriching activity for the classroom.

The project starts in September 2025 but doesn’t have a strict end date, since this journal and world-discovery initiative will span several school years (the kids stay in the ULIS program for multiple years). Postcards can be sent anytime—throughout the year, across seasons, even during holidays! The kids will find them when they return.

I hope this idea appeals to as many of you as possible, and that you’ll spread the word to your fellow travelers. Help us dream and explore!

I’d love to know if it’s really worth prioritizing the procession on the final night—is it that different? What do the other nights miss out on? From what I’ve gathered, you can watch for free if you’re okay with sitting on the ground, which isn’t an issue for us. In that case, is it still easy to get a good view? We’ll be coming from Jaffna—are train tickets to Kandy harder to get during the Perahera? Also, August 8th is a public holiday. Do trains still run on public holidays?

Starting from Kokhetanti, we'd like to do a day loop to Sekong Lake, then head to Naurikot and return (possibly by road). Day 1 – Karamazar village- Galvasay valley

After breakfast transfer by car to the trek starting point - mountain village Karamazar in Aksakata river valley (65km, 1,5 h, 850m). The trek starts with smooth ascent to the mountain ridge that divides Beldersay and Galvasay river valleys. Heading up on the ridge to the northeast, there are panoramic views of the river valleys with lush green vegetation mainly represented by walnuts, birch and other bush flora. Reaching the altitude of 1500m on the ridge, start descending towards the village of Uchterek. The route passes Uchterek from the east and continues the descent further to Galvasay river valley. Reach the camping area after a short walk up along the Galvasay riverbed. Highest Altitude 1500m Sleeping altitude 1250m Distance 14km, 8 hours, ascent 650m, descent 250m

Day 2 – Galvasay - Big Chimgan Waterfall

In the morning, start the trekking from the campsite towards north-east aiming to reach the Archali Pass (1600m) of the mount Kiziljar. Reach the pass and take a look around to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. From the Archali Pass, we will then continue generally to south-east on the ridge line towards the Chimgan Waterfall located on the foot of Great Chimgan Peak. There are great views of the mountains and Great Chimgan Peak throughout the day. Install the base camp at the foot of Big Chimgan mount.

Highest Altitude 1750m Sleeping altitude 1750m Distance 10km, 6 hours, ascent 500m

Day 3 – Gulkam Day Trip

Today we do day trekking from the base camp to Gulkam canyon – one of the most beautiful places in Western Tian-Shan. From the camp head up towards Gulkam Pass also known as Pesochniy Pass (1830 m). Once you are on the Pass start descending to Gulkam canyon. The descent from the pass to canyon requires participants more concentration as some stretches of the trail has loose and slippery ground. The 5-7 meters wide canyon meets hikers with vertical walls, several waterfalls and interesting stone formation. Having spent some time enjoying in the canyon, return to the base camp.

Highest Altitude 1830m Sleeping altitude 1750m Distance 10km, 6 hours, ascent 80m descend 300m

Day 4 – Chimgan Waterfall – Beldersay valley

Today we reach the highest point in our trek - the western side ridges of Great Chimgan peak. After breakfast, start heading up on the path to south-east getting ever closer to Great Chimgan. The trail that leads to the top of the ridgeline is considerably steep and requires more endurance from participants. Reach the ridge at the height of 2460m and enjoy the views of lush green Beldersay river valley. Take some time for a break before starting the descent to the ‘Beldersay Walls’ – the sources of Beldersay River. Beldersay is great for bird watching where bird species including White crowned Penduline-tit, Turkestan tits, Rufous naped tit as well as bird of prey such as Booted Gagle, Short-toed eagle, Eurasian Griffon Vultures and can be spotted. Day 5 – Beldersay valley – Marble River

After breakfast, continue down in Beldersay valley and reach the last major accent- Urtakumbel Pass (1830m). Though Urtakumbel Pass drop down to picturesque marble River valley (1700m). Head down in the valley passing waterfall and reach the ending point of the trek (1500m). Meet by our driver and be transferred to Tashkent (82km/ 1,5- 2 hours)

Bonjour nous allons passer 3 jours complet sur oslob.on na pris juste hotel p'tit dej. Ma questions et de savoir que faire sur oslob.? Mise a part nager avec les requins que l'on va faire forcément. Ou prendre cette escurtion? Et après que nous conseiller ? Existe t'il un bateau qui peu nous enmenner emmener sur elnido? Merci de vos réponses

Bonjour, Nous partons avec un ami, en destination des îles Canaries et notamment de La Palma début juin. Nous aimerions faire le GR 131 pour découvrir La Palma, cependant nous avons plusieurs interrogations. Tout d'abord combien de temps faut-il pour terminer le parcours de grande randonnée ? 3 ? 4 ? 5 jours ? Ensuite au niveau des logements (airs de camping, refuges...) Y-en a t-il suffisamment ? Où sont-ils situés ? est-ce possible de faire du camping sauvage ? Voilà j'espère que vous pourrez répondre à nos questions, Cordialement.

Moi et ma copine allons passer 3 semaines en Corse à partir de la semaine prochaine. Nous arrivons par le ferry à l'Ile-Rousse dimanche matin à 7h. Nous avons loué un AirBnb à Riventosa (vers Corte), et avons RDV vers 17/18h pour la remise des clés. L'idée est donc de déjà profiter de cette journée avant de rallier notre location...J'ai donc pensé à faire le tour du Cap Corse sur la journée. Je sais que certains vont hurler, et que le Cap Corse mériterait à lui seul déjà plusieurs jours, mais l'idée est dans un premier temps de profiter des paysages et d'un aperçu de ce cap. Nous reviendrons sans doute en Corse (une 3e fois) pour visiter plus en profondeur le Nord et ce fameux Cap.

Ceci étant posé, voici l'itinéraire et le programme de la journée (avec temps de trajet estimé):

L’Ile-Rousse > Erbalunga, via Ponte-Leccia / Bastia (2h) Petit-déjeuner à Erbalunga Erbalunga > Centuri, via Macinaggio (1h30) Déjeuner à Centuri Centuri > Nonza (1h30) Nonza > Riventosa, via St-Florent (2h)

Je précise que j'ai volontairement orienté l'itinéraire dans le sens est-ouest, même si ce n'est pas instinctif venant de l'Ile-Rousse ! Mais c'est toujours mieux d'être du bon côté de la route...

Qu'en pensez-vous ? Est-ce faisable entre le débarquement à 7h et une arrivée à Riventosa en début de soirée ? Je sais que beaucoup vont dire que ça fait beaucoup de voiture mais cela ne nous dérange pas, et nous aurons 3 semaines pour randonner, se balader et prendre notre temps...

Bonjour, nous avons deux enfants et nous partons 4 nuits à Rome et 5 nuits près de Rome cet été. Nous avons du mal à trouver une ville balnéaire ou pas pour nous poser sans forcément avoir des lieux à visiter. L'idée c'est la farniente avec des services à proximité et plages, piscine ou lac...juste des vacances en Italie au mois d'août. Merci si vous avez des bons plans !

la taxe d'aéroport a été rétablie au départ international de l'aéroport de cebu: 750 pesos ! je ne sais pas pour les vols domestiques, mais le mai il n'y en avait pas ! je ne sais pas pour manille non plus. donc gardez 750 pesos pour partir de cebu sinon il faudra changer au prix fort 😉

Voila nous partons dans 17 jours pour les Etats-unis et notre vol fait Luxembourg - Londres et Londres Chicago

Ma fille a 16 mois et est au lait de croissance et je sais que le lait de croissance la haut n'existe pas et je n'ai pas envie de la passer au lait de vache

Pensez vous que la douane dise quelque chose si j'emmène les petites bouteilles de candia de 25cl (il y en aurait donc 15) DANS LES BAGAGES QUI VONT EN SOUTE??????

Je sais que pour la nourriture des bagages que je prend en cabine ben y'a tolérance à condition que je prennes juste l'équivalent de ce qu'il faut pour le vol.

Bonjour à toutes et tous.Je viens de prendre connaissance de votre Forum.J'espère trouver auprès de vous les conseils qui me semblent indispensables pour réussir ce voyage. Nous sommes 4 adultes et peut être 6.Nous allons y aller 2 semaines en février 2016. Pour le moment la seule certitude et que nous n'irons pas à Varadero. Nous pensons rester 2 jours au début à la Havane et dormir à l'hôtel ( surtout pas international, vous voyez ce que je veux dire) Première question: Pouvez m'en indiquer dans le centre et qui ont du caractère Nous pensons louer un véhicule pour une entière indépendance Deuxième question: Où faudrait il aller pour trouver un prix et un véhicule convenables?
