J'ai prévu de passer une partie de mon voyage en Australie (2 mois). J'arriverais par la thailande et débarquerais à Darwin au environ du mois de novembre 2005 de là je partirais visiter le Kimberley puis direction Alice Springs et Uluru puis j'irais vers Cairns et redescendrais vers Sydney en longeant la côte pour prendre un avion qui m'embarquera vers la nouvelle zélande. Durant ce séjour je compte visiter le parc Kakadu, snowy mountain mais aussi rencontrer le peuple aborigène pour lequel j'ai une véritable attirance.Je compte me déplacer à pied et en car et dormir en tente exclusivement.

J'ai donc quelques questions à vous poser.

1. y a t il des coins où il est déconseillé de planter la tente (par exemple dans les parcs ou je risque de "déranger la faune et la flore" ou encore risque d'aggressions ...)?

2.Mon parcours vous semble t il réalisable dans ce délai (a l'heure actuelle j'envisage de rester 1 mois de plus soit 3 mois)?

3. Mon budget est de 2000€ excursions, nourriture et forfait bus hors billet d'avion. est ce suffisant?

4. Est ce que j'aurais le temps pour visiter la côte ouest?

5.Pensez vous que les forfaits bus au Km soit la meilleure solution pour mon parcours

6. Quels sont les endroits sympas que vous me conseilleriez de voir? (envoyez tout je suis preneur😉)

7. Et surtout très très très très... important :J'ai une affection toute particulière pour un groupe australien qui à mon goût n'est pas assez connu en France je veux parler bien sur de l'unique, l'irremplaçable : Midnight Oil. Dans un de leur clip Whitefella/Blackfella il chante avec pour décor le mont Uluru mais aussi sur un cours d'eau. Si un de vous connait ce clip et surtout le lieu où il chante faites le moi savoir pcq c'est un coin que j'ai vraiment envie de visiter.🙂

Voila je crois que c'est a peu près tout... pour l'instant😉

Nouveau sur ce forum, je me présente brièvement : ingénieur sexagénaire marié à une chef de cabine d'Air France et papa d'un garçon de 13 ans... Passionné d'humain et d'humanisme et par conséquent de voyages...😎

Je prépare actuellement notre voyage des vacances de cet été et je me permets de venir vers vous car l'Australie est au programme (entre le Cambodge et l'Ile de Paques) et je me pose des questions sur la visite du Centre Rouge (Uluru, Kata Tjuta et Kings Canyon...).

Compte tenu des prix exorbitants des hôtels d'Ayers Rock, j'envisagerais de n'y passer qu'une nuit et d'établir notre base à Alice Springs. Le programme serait alors le suivant :

Jour 1 : Route Alice Springs -> Ayers Rock en passant par Kata Tjuta et coucher de soleil sur Uluru...

Jour 2 : Lever de soleil sur Uluru, Kings Canyon et retour sur Alice Springs...

Est-ce que ceux qui connaissent les sites peuvent me rassurer sur la faisabilité de ce programme, et en particulier si les différents sites sont facilement accessibles en voiture de location classique, ou s'il faut se munir d'un 4 x 4...

Congés négociés vendredi + destination choisie ce matin = organisation à l'arrache. 🙂 Mais bon, ça serait dommage de faire simple quand on peut faire ....

Je souhaites donc partir en Australie pour 4 semaines début Mars. J'ai rapidement feuilleté le Lonely aujourd'hui et .... c'est grand l'Australie ! J'espère donc glaner ici quelques infos pour me concocter un petit voyage sympa.

1) La compagnie ! Y-en a plusieurs ... Je compte arriver à Sydney. Gagne-t-on vraiment à prendre un vol Quantas pour profiter des pass locaux ? Sinon la Malaysian Airlines m'a l'air pas mal, z'êtes d'accord ?

2) J'envisageais un passage vers Cairns pour des randos dans l' "arrière-pays" ("Rainforest"). Le mois de Mars est-il (encore) trop pluvieux pour ce type de randos?

3) Les méduses ! Traînent-elles du du côté des plages de la côte Est (de Cairns à Sydney)? J'ai quand même envie de profiter de la plage et de la grande barrière ...

4) La Tasmanie, c'est sûr, c'est bien au Sud. Est-ce trop tard pour des randos sur place (trop froid, trop pluvieux) ?

5) Le Centre Rouge .... rien que le nom et le mystère est déjà là.🙂 J'ai un objectif (peut-être utopique): profiter des merveilles du coin (rando dans les McDonnell Ranges, Uluru) sans pour autant suivre des hordes de touriste. Y-en a-t-il un(e) parmi vous qui détienne le secret ?

6) Pour l'instant je voyage seul. Mais c'est aussi sympa de pouvoir partager les frais et les expériences. Trouve-t-on facilement des routards ou backpackers dans les auberges de jeunesse pour organiser une sortie / rando / visite, une fois arrivé dans un coin.

Bon, je m'arrête là car sinon, j'y serai encore demain....

En tout cas, je passerai sur Sydney ... donc si un soir y en a qui veulent des nouvelles fraîches du pays ou juste boire un coup, je paie ma tournée (limite fixée par mon banquier qui rit jaune ... déjà) 😉

depart mi mars . 6 mois prevus en australie. travailler, decouvrir, echanger cote est de sydney a darwin, alice springs. voila en qq mots mon voyage ou au moins la base de mon programme. si qq un veut faire un bout de chemin ou pour faire de la coloc ou autre....

Our daughter has gone to Sydney, and we’d love to spend the end-of-year holidays with her. The plan is to leave from Paris or Brussels and break up the trip with a 3- or 4-day layover to "split" the journey in two. Then head back to Sydney, explore the East Coast in a van, celebrate Christmas and New Year’s in Sydney, and finally return to France with another layover.

My questions: Which city should we choose for the layover (we’ve already visited Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and would like to see a different city)? Both on the way there and back? Which agency should we rent a van from? What sites should we visit on the East Coast?

If you’ve done this kind of trip before and have any tips or advice, I’d love to hear them.

Viaducts, aqueducts, and footbridges will all be accepted.

To allow for as many original photos as possible, the bridge can be photographed from the side, below, or above—the main thing is that it’s the focal point of the image.

Whether they’re desert, sea, countryside, or mountain scenes—with or without other elements (people, buildings, animals, etc.)—they should make us want to dive right in without hesitation.

The 139th edition of this contest is now open, and this month’s theme is: « Metal, Metallic».

From ore to rockets, wire to the Eiffel Tower—or in a pinch, even a self-portrait at the bottom of a spoon—the theme is broad enough that you should be able to come up with at least three ideas pretty easily! Sure, things might get tricky when it’s time to vote, but that could just be a sign of a successful contest, right?! But we’re not there yet.

Contest rules: You can post up to three photos, each in a separate message, clearly indicating their number (1, 2, or 3) along with the location where the photo was taken. Any explanations about your photos are welcome.

You’ll vote for three photos, clearly stating the name of the participant you’ve chosen, followed by the photo number. The first photo in your vote will receive three points, the second two points, and the third one point.

The winner will be the person whose photo earns the most points. In case of a tie, the winner will be the one with the most first-place votes—or, if still tied, the most second-place votes. Finally, if it’s a perfect tie, the winner will be the one who reached their score first. The winner will then have the pleasure of choosing the theme for the April 2026 contest and organizing it. Ties for any position other than first won’t be broken. Lastly, you don’t need to participate in the contest to vote. If you’ve got nice photos of a pond—or even a puddle—why not? Natural bodies of water only: no pools or fountains (reservoir lakes are accepted… because they often look like natural lakes ).

Water is present almost everywhere on our blue planet, so I’ve narrowed the theme down to waterways—rivers, streams, brooks, and the like.



Seas, oceans, lakes, or other stagnant waters won’t be considered for this month’s theme 😅. However, waterfalls and cascades are very welcome 😊!

Hi everyone. Because that’s also what sparks the desire in every traveler (well, at least for me) to set foot on Australian soil: discovering a new continent.

Right now, I’ve got some time on my hands—those who follow me know that. A nasty muscle tear (which really doesn’t want to heal) is keeping me grounded for another week, so I’ve decided to open a new travel journal, recounting my recent trip from December 14, 2024, to January 12, 2025, in Australia.

The origins of this trip started last May in Crete, an island I chose for a 10-day break. It’s really lovely, by the way, but that’s not the point… It’s around this time every year that we decide on our next winter destination, and Argentina was at the top of the list—Sydney wasn’t even on the radar… I’d been looking at flights to Buenos Aires for a while, and the prices were shocking… But by the pool one lazy afternoon, scrolling on my iPhone, a promo from Geneva to Sydney caught my eye. The deal ticked two boxes on my traveler’s bucket list: a flight to Australia and a flight with Singapore Airlines, often ranked as the world’s best airline. A quick chat with the missus (well, of course!) and the decision was made: off to the land of kangaroos! Now, once you add luggage and Economy Plus, it still comes to 1600 € per person, but that’s a reasonable price. Either way, we already know what we’re in for—Australia is a budget commitment!

pour un voyage avec un véhicule : moto, camping car, 4x4, vélo

il est difficile d envisager de voyager dans un sens ou dans l autre, dans des pays comme la Norvège ou le Chili, etc ...

mais, il est tout a fait envisageable de voyager ainsi dans des pays comme la France, l Espagne, les Etats unis, etc ...

certains, n ayant pas d idée précise, dans quel sens commencer leur périple

donc ma question est de savoir si l on visite un pays dans le sens contraire d une montre : on est susceptible de trouver moins de monde ? ( dans le même sens que nous )

À cause du connardevirus, l'immense majorité d'entre nous doit rester chez soi. Alors j'ai pensé: pourquoi ne pas faire un tour du monde (vu qu'on a des membres qui habitent partout dans le monde) sans mettre un pied dehors ?

L'idée est de poster une photo prise depuis chez vous, à la fenêtre (ce n'est pas un "concours photo", l'important c'est le témoignage.... Ceci dit si vous savez prendre de belles photos, n'hésitez pas non plus !). Accompagnez la photo d'un petit commentaire, une anecdote qui a pu avoir lieu dans votre rue, ou comment se passe le confinement dans votre quartier.

Bon, je poste ça, mais je n'ai pas encore déchargé mes propres images de mon portable (je n'ai pas d'appareil photo digne de ce nom chez moi)

Comme beaucoup, l'Ecosse nous attire, et nous souhaiterions y passer un peu moins de 2 semaines cet été, à partir d'Edimbourg. Nous sommes une petite famille avec une grande ado. Nous cherchons avant tout trois régions de l'Ecosse où nous prendrions un hôtel pour y séjourner 4 nuits environs, et ainsi avoir au moins 3 jours pleins pour rayonner avec la voiture. Nous ne souhaitons pas faire de la route pour changer d'hôtel tous les soirs. Mais pour pouvoir choisir nos hôtels, j'ai du mal à me fixer sur des régions exactes de l'Ecosse qui sembleraient pertinentes. Merci beaucoup pour vos avis 😉

Bonjour, nous venons d’acheter nos billets pour les Philippines du 8 au 25 février! Je voyage avec mon fils de 12 ans. Nous sommes déjà été en Thaïlande mais il n’avait que 3 ans( donc se souvient plus). Aujourdhui japprend qu’il y a l’éruption volcanique près de Manille ( notre avion va atterrir là) je sais plus quoi faire? Je garde ce voyage ...ou je change pour la Thaïlande ( et ça coute 600$ le changement) vos conseils?? merci !
