Bonjour tout le monde, je pars pour le Panama le 5 juin pour 2 semaines. Je me suis batie un itinéraire et j'aimerais bien savoir ce que le voyageur expérimenté en pense:

Arrivé a Panama, visite de la ville (zoo, site historique etc...)

Traversée vers l'ile de Taboga

Je longe le canal et me rend ensuite vers Portobello

Par la suite je prend le bus et je me dirige vers le volcan Baru. Entre temp je pourrais m'arrêter sur les plages du pacifique.

Apres la visite du volcan, direction Bocas del toro..Retour a Panama city en avion.

Qu'en pensez vous? Avez vous d'autres destinations a me proposer?

nous nous baladons actuellement dans le nord du Perou et en Equateur (magnifique ! a ne pas rater.. moins touristique que le sud Perou ...).

Nous comptons nous rendre dans le region de Huaraz pour faire quelques petites randonnees. Quelqu un aurait des infos sur ce coin ?

Il semble que la petite ville de Caraz soit plus sympa que Huaraz. Mais ou est il preferable de loger pour mieux decouvrir la region ? Certaines lagunes semblent plus proches de Caraz...mais toutes les agences de trekking semblent etre a Huaraz.

Connaissez vous de bonnes agences de trekking ? ou est il possible de faire des trekkings a la journee, seuls ?

J'ai lu q pr l'Amazonie il était préférable d'avoir des bottes en caoutchouc.Faut-il en amener ou je peux en trouver sur place ? Est-ce possible d'organiser qqch à partir de Puerto Maldonado ou est-ce préférable de prendre un circuit en agence à Cuzco ? Est-ce qu'une agence peut m'avoir un billet d'avion qui continue sur Lima sans trop de difficulté sachant q le retour en France s'effectue impérativement le lendemain ds la matinée ? En ce qui concerne la Cordillière Blanche, je suppose q les températures seront basses mais le seront-elles vraiment plus qu'à Arequipa et Cuzco ? Je pars 1 mois à Madagascar pour la 1° fois fin Avril 2004. Je n'ai encore aucune idée de mon itinéraire à vélo. Nord, Sud, ... ? A priori, j'aurais envie de visiter l'Andringitra et l'Isalo. J'aimerai bien pouvoir grimper aussi. C'est pourquoi je pensais à une descente le long du canal des Pangalanes, l'Andrigintra, Tulear, puis remontée par la côte Ouest. Est ce que les routes seront praticables sur la côte Est à cette période ? Je me suis laissé dire que certaines sont encore innondées en Avril, surtout à l'Est.

Et si certains y ont grimpé, au Nord également, je suis preneur de toute info(quel niveau minimum, ...) Merci beaucoup. A plouch

Certaines agences de voyages nous déconseillent l'hotel Coral Hamaca à Boca Chica, car il y aurai un puit de pétrole juste derrière l'établissement! Je n'en ai jamais entendu parler, alors j'aimerais savoir le vrai du faux!

En ce qui concerne Punta Cana, le vent est-il si désagréable?

I’m just starting to plan our trip for late August 2026, but I’ve read multiple times that campsite bookings need to be made *way* in advance if we want to secure a spot—especially in the parks. Before I get too far into my road book, I’d love to get a sense of what “way in advance” actually means.

That leads to another question: what’s the best *channel* for making these reservations? Can I find a list of campsites online?

From what I’ve gathered, there aren’t any fenced campsites—is wild camping allowed?

Hello, I'm looking for a small town where we can eat and stay near the canals of Brittany to do short bike rides of about 50 km round trip. Ideally, it would be a town at a junction of several canals, but I'm not sure if that exists. Otherwise, a town like Redon with the Nantes-Brest canal and, on the other side, the Vilaine River. But I don’t know if there are paths that can be used along these canals.

I just got back from an unforgettable road trip in Madagascar where I drove down the legendary RN7. It connects Tana (the capital) to Tulear. Since we were traveling as a group of girls, we decided to go with a guide. I’d never done an “organized” trip before, but I have to say we loved this first tailor-made travel experience. Hi everyone, We’re organizing a week-long bike trip for a group of scouts. I’ve already mapped out a route using Géovélo (travel option). The teens will take the train to Nemours (or a bit beyond) and then follow the Loire à Vélo route for a good stretch (until Nevers, which they’ll bypass to the west). After Nevers, things get a bit trickier. I also wanted to avoid Moulins, so I planned for them to follow the Allier’s west bank and cross near Châtel-de-Neuvre. I’m having some doubts about the route and really want to steer clear of busy main roads as much as possible. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the route I’ve chosen, plus any tips you might have. I saw there’s the V70 veloroute, but I decided against it after hearing it has some *very* road-heavy sections.

I’m currently in Hoi An—I hadn’t set foot here for 8 years. The city has already changed a lot, with lots of construction, and even in the old town, along one side of the riverbank, there are huge residential buildings going up that take away some of the charm of this place. But the worst part is the overtourism—it’s impossible to walk across the famous bridge in the middle of the canal in the evening because it’s so packed with people. There’s also a new trend: massage parlors have opened in the old town and around the city. I was shocked—people call out to you or even grab your arm on the sidewalk, and it’s everywhere. Bangkok and Phuket might start shaking—Hanoi’s the same way.

Anyway, let’s talk about the dual pricing specifically for non-Vietnamese tourists. We went to a restaurant near our hotel last night, and they gave us an English menu—okay, fine! But I noticed the table next to us, where Vietnamese tourists had a different menu. Weird! I asked to see the same menu as my neighbors, but the waitress refused, saying it was in Vietnamese and we wouldn’t understand. I insisted, and she finally agreed. Surprise!!! The prices on the two menus were different, with the English one up to 50% more expensive. I asked why, and she got flustered, telling me to just order from the Vietnamese menu, which I translated with my phone to see the local prices. I mentioned this to the hotel this morning, and the receptionist told me to go to restaurants where prices are displayed at the entrance to avoid getting ripped off. I just bought fresh bread this morning, and it was the same thing—the little loaf costs 4000 dong for Vietnamese people and 5000 dong for non-Vietnamese. It’s not a huge difference, but this way of doing things isn’t right. At supermarkets like VinMart+, prices are displayed, so there’s no surprise or dual pricing there.

We arrive at the airport on the 8th and planned to take the Alilaguna waterbus to St. Mark’s Square to get to our Airbnb. We’ve estimated arriving at St. Mark’s Square between 11 AM and 12 PM. We didn’t realize we’d be arriving on the day of the race.

Here’s what I’m sure about: Spending a few days in Nosy Be so my daughter can complete her Open Water certification—so I’m thinking 4 or 5 days there. I think Diego Suarez, Montagne d’Ambre, and Ankarana would suit what we like to do and have the advantage of being close to Nosy Be.

Now, the parts I’m unsure about, especially because of travel times:

My daughters really want to see whales. Is it possible around Nosy Be, or is Sainte Marie *the* must-visit spot? And what’s the weather like at that time of year? If we choose Sainte Marie, maybe do the Pangalanes Canal? Or is the route from Diego to Sainte Marie via the Vanilla Road a must-do?

Another option could be exploring the east with the Tsiribihina River and the Avenue of the Baobabs in Morondava.

2 days in San Blas

2 days in Santa Fe (it’s either that or Boquete, but I think I’d prefer Santa Fe)

4 days in the Bocas del Toro archipelago

3 days in Panama City and surroundings

2 days in Valle de Antón? Not sure if it’s really worth it

1 "flexible" day

What do you think?

We’re also debating whether to take a direct flight to Bocas first, then rent a car to gradually make our way back to Panama City and do San Blas at the end—or do the opposite: start with San Blas, rent a car, and finish with the domestic flight from Bocas back to Panama City.

Hi, I tried to book 15 nights at Abdul Chalet in the Perhentians for May 2025 starting on the first of December, but I noticed that this year, in April 2024, we stayed there for 10 nights. Today, the response was: "you can only book 7 nights—it’s the new way of operating for 2025." I’m really surprised because we’ve stayed at this guesthouse five times in less than 10 years without any issues, even if the staff isn’t very friendly and the restaurant is just okay. But it’s such a peaceful place that we love. Do you know of any quiet, reasonably priced hotels or guesthouses in the Perhentian Islands you could recommend? Have any of you stayed at Coral View Island Resort recently?

Hi there, These cities aren’t in the guidebooks much, but they’re absolutely worth a detour—just 180 km from Osaka and perfect for a stop on your way back from the south or heading down from Osaka. I’ve been here for five days, and the autumn colors are simply stunning: bright reds, vibrant yellows, deep maroons, and lush greens against a crystal-blue sky. Fall here is magical. Plus, the canal in central Okayama (Nishigawa) is all lit up. Hardly any Western tourists stop here, but there are plenty of Japanese visitors.
