Je compte me rendre debut novembre en Malaisie, d'abord 3 jours sur KL et ensuite une dizaine de jours sur Langkawi, et j'aimerai connaitre les bons plans pour chaque lieu.

Pour KL, j'aimerai connaitre les restos sympas, les lieux a visiter imperativement, ainsi que les bons endroits pour acheter des vetements et de l'electronique.

Pour Langkawi, je voudrais connaitre le meileur endroit pour sejourner la bas, plutot du coté de Burau Bay ou plutot du coté de Pasir Hitam ou encore Kuah Town.Je voudrais connaitre aussi des petits endroits sympas a visiter, ou manger ou encore ou acheter des vetements et de l'electronique( je ne sais pas si c'est plus interessant sur l'ile ou sur KL)

Je rentre d'un voyage en Namibie (carnet de voyage accessible par mon profil) et je pense déjà à l'été prochain (3 semaines en juillet voire dernière semaine de juin et première quinzaine de juillet) Nous avons 3 enfants de 9, 10 et 12 ans et aimons la randonnée. Comme nous craignons la grosse chaleur, nous pensons visiter le Yellowstone plutôt que les parcs du sud. Nous aimons dormir au plus près de la nature, mais je suis frileuse et bien sûr nous n'aimons pas les moustiques. Notre budget n'est pas illimité (un portefeuille pour 5!). Nous n'aimons pas les villes et préférons les grands espâââces. J'ai plein de questions à poser aux spécialistes, sachant que je n'ai pas encore potassé le sujet donc certaines questions vous paraîtront certainement ingénues. Enfin, nous ne sommes jamais allés aux USA... Quelle ville (pour l'arrivée en avion) offre le meilleur rapport proximité du Yellowstone /prix. Nous serions bien tentés par 2 ou 3 jours dans le coin de Seattle. Quid de la route entre Seattle et les Rocheuses? Qui connait le Mont St Helen? Est-ce loin de Seattle? Est-il possible en 3 semaines en se ménageant des journées de rando de visiter aussi Arches et Canyonland? Au contraire vaut-il mieux aller vers le Nord? Devils Tower offre-t-elle des possibilités de rando intéressante (j'ai adoré"rencontre du 3ème type"). Quid de grand Teton NP? (j'ai lu qq part ds ce forum que les Alpes étaient 10000 fois mieux!!??) A votre avis camping-car ou voiture+motel et/ou camping? Faut-il réserver même si en camping-car on se contente d'une place sans électricité. Est-ce possible dans les motels de trouver des chambres pour 5, avec ou sans surcoût? Peut-on y cuisiner? (quitte à apporter un réchaud) Existe-t-il (si possible en français )des guides de rando dans les rocheuses et Yellowstone en particulier? Enfin, grosse inquiétude : est-il possible de trouver des coins sans (presque) personne. C'est ceux-là qu'on préfère... Si quelqu'un a le temps de me proposer un itinéraire, ce serait pour moi une bonne base de réflexion pour construire ce voyage. Tout d'abord je dois dire merci à tous les participants de ce forum qui nous font partager leurs découvertes et conseils, j'y apprends + que dans n'importe quel guide, et c'est interactif en + !!

Je pars le 31 octobre pour 3 semaines en Thailande, j'ai pris un vol sec donc je dois un peu m'organiser d'ici là, c'est mon premier voyage en avion alors désolé si certaines questions peuvent sembler bêtes 😛

Mon programme est assez simple, arrivée à Bangkok, départ immédiat pour Chiang Mai et y rester 5-6 jours, puis décollage pour Phuket pour farniente, et pour finir 4-5 jours à Bangkok (+Ayuthaya) pour shopping avant mon départ 🙂

1) Mon arrivée à Bangkok est prévue le 1 novembre à 16h25, je compte redécoller aussi vite que possible pour Chiang Mai, et me reposer là bas, dois-je réserver le vol domestique à l'avance (à priori avec la Thai airways) pour cette date là ? (Peur d'un retard dans mon vol Air France qui me ferait rater la correspondance...).

2) Y a-t-il beaucoup de moustiques à Bkk, Chiang Mai et Phuket en novembre ?

3) Je compte descendre dans de bons hôtels confortables, étant donné les prix très intéressants de la Thailande, pour Chiang-Mai j'hésite entre le Pornping Tower, l'Empress et le Chiang Mai Plaza, avez-vous des conseils et des recommandations parmi ces 3 choix ?

4) Jusqu'à quelle heure peut-on s'enregistrer dans un hôtel de ce type ? Je risque d'arriver en soirée à Chiang Mai.

5) Des conseils d'activités à Chiang Mai et environs ? Des trucs paisibles, oubliez les treks ce n'est pas fait pour moi 😊 Par exemple j'ai envie de passer un bon moment de relaxation dans un centre SPA (massages, saunas, bains de boues etc...) en avez-vous un en particulier à conseiller ?

6) bcp d'amis me demandent de ramener des pendentifs de Thailande (Bouddha, éléphant...), j'ai lu dernièrement un post sur le marché aux amulettes de Bangkok, est-ce un lieu intéressant pour ce genre d'achat ? quelles sont les matières utilisées ? y en a t il en jade ? est-ce que je risque des problèmes à la douane en en ramenant 5 ou 6 ?

7) Je compte partir avec un minimum de vêtements pour acheter ce dont j'ai besoin en Thaïlande, en arrivant à Bangkok je redécolle immédiatement pour Chiang Mai, trouverai-je toutes sortes de fringues et en toutes tailles à Chiang Mai (je taille XL à XXL européen d’après les vêtements) ? Des conseils d'endroits où faire le plein dans cette ville ? Le nightbazar dont on parle dans les guides est-il le + fourni ?

Voilà, c'est tout pour ma première série de questions, qui m'aideront à cloturer mon organisation pour Chiang Mai 😛 J'en aurai bientôt pour Phuket, mais moins nombreuses 😇

( pas a l'oriental .. quand même ) pour cela se rendre dans le quartier de pratunam .. et demander bayork tower 1 ( voir photo ) si vous vous donnez la peine de regarder la photo il y a une dame assise sur les marches .. prendre ses marches et Juste en face il y a le money changer ( au taux le meilleur de bkk ) pour faire le test .. il y a une banque .. au même endroit .. avec le cours officiel .. puis regarder le cours du money changer .. et vous verrez sur place la différence du jour .. pour ce qui ne veulent pas se trimbaler avec des liasses d'argent .. ouvrir un compte !! est une bonne info?? sur le nerfs de la guerre ....

Peut-on se déplacer avec des transports locaux ou est-ce préférable de louer un véhicule? Nous ne voulons pas visiter le pays entier, notre séjour est trop court, mais souhaiterions privilégier Pétra bien entendu, le Wadi Rum et quoi d'autre????? C'est mon deuxième voyage et l'année dernière je n'avais pas eu le temps de m'interesser à ce genre de choses tellement ce pays est riche en découvertes. Je connais le week end market, mais cette fois je cherche plutôt des centre commerciaux pour acheter des VRAIS produits, surtout des vêtements. MBK, Futur Park, The Emporium... lequel est le meilleur pour les vêtements ?

Nous partons du 20 Aout au 10 Septembre au USA. Cette fois-ci, nous voulons visiter Yellowstone. Nous souhaitons camper dans le parc. Suite à notre superbe expérience à Yosemite en 2001🙂, nous voulons dormir dans un NPS Campgroung (à cause des supers infrastructure: BBQ et table/banc sur chaque emplacements). Par contre lequel choisir?😐 Deux ont attiré mon attention: le Norris (y parai qu'il y a bcp de moustiques😕) et le Tower Falls (petit?😕). Avez vous des avis à me donner? Pouvez vous me conseiller sur d'autre campings NPS que vous avez experiementé à l'interieur du parc? Combien de jours pour visiter "entièrement" Yellowstone? : je suis partie sur 5/6 nuits. qu'en pensez-vous? MERCI DE VOS REPONSES!!

En Janvier je devrais partir avec Emirates aux Maldives. Je fais un STOP de 26h à Dubaï. J'aimerais savoir s'il y a des formalités particulières pour sortir de l'aéroport (Visa ou autre...)

Vu l'arrivée (1:20am) et le départ (3:20am) tardifs est-ce que ça vaut le coup de prendre un hotel ou alors il y a de quoi s'occuper non-stop entre 2h du mat et minuit...

Hey everyone, I’m over in East Borneo in mid-July. I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple). Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).

Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees. Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands. Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way). Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan. Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide). Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre. Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island. Day 10 – Head to Semporna. Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai. Day 15 – Bohey Dulang. Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.

I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous. I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing. I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture. But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary. If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.

I already posted not long ago because I was planning to go to Kota Kinabalu, but there’s been a slight change of plans.

I’m still in Malaysia, but I’ll be staying on the peninsular side, so I need some tips/reviews.

Here’s what I’m planning to do:

- Arrive in Kuala Lumpur on August 16th and do some sightseeing. I saw that you can do a firefly and blue tears tour. Is it worth it? If so, how do you recommend getting there or which agency should I book with?

By the way, do you have any particular recommendations for things to do in Kuala Lumpur?

- Next, I’d like to visit Taman Negara for 2D/1N, but I’m not sure how to get there or which agency to book with to organize everything. Should I figure out how to get there first and then find a guide on the spot? We’d like to do the canopy walkway—is there anything else to do there? I know you used to be able to make your own blowpipe at the village—is that still a thing?

- After that, I’d like to head to the Perhentian Islands. How do we get there? Do I need to go back to Kuala Lumpur to take a bus, or can I leave from Taman Negara? Are there overnight buses? Or should we book the ferry?

I wanted to go there for diving—do you have any reviews or tips on that?

Do you also have any activity recommendations there? Like cooking classes, dance lessons, shows, or great snorkeling spots...

- Then we’d go to Kuala Terengganu. Do you know how to get there? How long do you recommend staying in the city? I think you can do rafting and the Cherating River—is it good, and do you have an agency in mind for that? I’m really not sure if it’s worth stopping in this city.

Is it interesting to visit Kapas Island? Or is it better to go straight from the Perhentian Islands to Tioman?

- Tioman: we really want to go for diving, but again, we’re not sure how to get there. And as always, if you have any activity recommendations, I’m all ears.

From there, I’m not sure yet if I’ll go to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, but I thought there were flights from Tioman to Kuala Lumpur, but I can’t find any.

I suggest we compete with photos of towers. No magic tricks or potter’s wheels—we’re talking about "tour" as in the feminine noun. So, a kind of tall building, round, square, or polygonal, or a high structure that could be metallic, or a flat-topped bell tower (campanile), or a high-rise building (building)... You can find them almost everywhere in the world and from all eras. The tower(s) must be the main subject of the photo. Examples: The first photo, which is Saint Mark’s Square (with the Campanile), won’t be accepted. The second one, where the Campanile tower is the main subject, will be accepted.

Hello, We recently went to Rajasthan. For the duration, I’d recommend about 3 weeks if you can, so you can explore the region at a relaxed pace. We also wanted to experience "the real Indian life," and our driver showed us small markets, little temples, and his village near Ranakpur in the Marwar region. For your info, here are some hotels where we stayed—there’s a huge hotel scene in Rajasthan. No need to book in advance; day by day works really well. You arrive, visit, and if you don’t like it, you just move on—it’s no problem in India. No upfront payment, and you can even negotiate on the spot with this approach, which gives you flexibility with your itinerary. Here are some hotels we stayed at: Madhuban in Jaipur (Haveli house) and also in Jaipur, the Khandela Haveli, which we preferred In Jodhpur, the Kuchaman Haveli In Ranakpur (Ranakpur Hill Resort) with a great pool Bikaner: Hotel Laxmi Niwas Udaipur: Hotel Savroopvilas Jaisalmer: Hotel Rang Mahal Here’s the itinerary we followed over nearly three weeks: 1 - When we arrived in Delhi, we headed straight north to Nawalgarh and Mandawa (towns with Havelis = painted houses). Along the way, we stopped in Jhunjhunu to see the Rani Sati Temple. We slept in Mandawa (we arrived in the evening and explored the next morning). 2 - Then we drove to Bikaner (Junagarh Fort, but if you have to choose, the forts in Jodhpur and Jaipur are more interesting in our opinion). After that, we took the road to Deshnoke (temple with sacred rats) and before that, we saw a small temple on the way with white rats. In Deshnoke, the rats move freely among people. We’re not too squeamish, so it was fine. Anyway, it was interesting to see. 3 - Next, we headed to Pushkar, where we took a camel ride (you have to negotiate the price; it varies depending on the camel’s quality, the saddle, and its decoration). One to two hours is more than enough. There’s always someone riding with you on the camel (at least that’s how it was for us). There are also things to see along the way. 4 - From Pushkar, we went to Jodhpur (Mehrangarh Fort, Clock Tower, Jaswant Thada). From Jodhpur, we visited villages (including our driver’s village, which was ideal for connecting with locals, having tea, and exploring the village with part of the community tagging along—I think we went into almost every house). We also did a train safari in the hills. Then Ranakpur (splendid Jain temple, Adinath Temple). With a bit of luck, you might spot Raikas, nomadic herders. Then Kumbhalgarh Fort, and after that, Udaipur. Along the way, we spent the night in a very small town called Jojawar at the Rawla Jojawar hotel, owned by the former Maharaja. A wonderful memory. 5 - In Udaipur (City Palace; Monsoon Palace = depends on the weather—if it’s not clear, you won’t see much, but if it is, the view is stunning). 6 - On the way to Jaipur: Sas-Bahu Temple; then in Jaipur: City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), the Hanuman Temple, etc. 7 - Heading toward Agra, the Galta Valley with lots of monkeys. We finished with Fatehpur Sikri and then Agra. Agra is *very* touristy, so people are less friendly and can be pushy about selling things or offering their services as guides. You have to stay polite but firm and not let them sweet-talk you. Hotels are also pricier and there’s not always much choice. For the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), go very early in the morning when it opens. It’s best to arrive the evening before and spend the night at a hotel before visiting. Inside the Taj Mahal site, it’s already calmer. After that, we visited Akbar’s mausoleum (in Sikandra, near Agra) and the so-called "Baby Taj" (in Agra). For the Taj, I’ve heard they’re doing renovations, but it’s still a must-see. 8 - In Delhi, if you still have time, check out the Jama Masjid mosque and Mahatma Gandhi’s tomb. Also see Humayun’s Mausoleum (in the Nizamuddin East neighborhood). In Jaisalmer (spend a night in the dunes after a camel ride), Chittorgarh, Bundi, Ranthambore Park, Orchha, and Khajuraho. Actually, you’ll have to make choices, or you’ll spend your whole vacation traveling. The average driving speed is about 50–60 km/h. Our other trips in India: Gujarat (we love it and have been twice), Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and also Haridwar and Varanasi. In the south, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. In some cities, we visited with a local guide (about two hours), and some spoke French or English. One last thing that comes to mind: if you go to Jaisalmer, check out Gadi Sagar Lake. Also worth seeing: the Demoiselle Cranes in Kichan, not far from Jodhpur. These are thousands of common cranes that migrate near the region’s lakes during the winter months. I’m heading to Japan for the second time with my 20-year-old son. During our first trip, we spent two weeks in Tokyo and Kyoto (plus the surrounding areas). This time, we’re planning to stay in Tokyo for at least 4-5 days and then head to the island of Naoshima. I’m looking for suggestions and advice: Is getting to Naoshima from Tokyo complicated? If so, do you have any recommendations for a stopover somewhere? Given that we’d prefer not to move every day, we’d rather settle in one place and then explore on day trips... Do you think it’s possible to do something like this: 5 nights in Tokyo (Shinjuku) 3 nights in Kyoto 2 nights in Naoshima (or is one night enough??) and if one night is enough, where could I spend a second night on the way back to Tokyo? 2 nights in Tokyo (I’d love your advice on staying in a different neighborhood—last time we stayed near Ueno Park)—keeping in mind we’re flying out of Narita.

I’m considering maybe skipping Kyoto, which I love but has apparently become *very* touristy... Not really keen on Osaka... since we’ll already have done Tokyo as our "big city." I’d prefer towns where nature is present... (a bit like Kyoto, which offers all that...)

Why not Malta? We thought it was an original, off-the-beaten-path destination... The advantage is there’s a direct flight from Toulouse, our departure city. That’s what convinced us to take a week-long couple’s trip to Malta. I had booked the accommodations (breakfast included) + an airport/hotel transfer on Booking. First stop: VILLA DEL PORTO, a very pleasant guest house in a great location. We were welcomed by the owner, who gave us all the info we needed to get around. How to get to Valletta? By ferry shuttle. Valletta Ferry Service - Cospicua. And for everything else, a brilliant app for the buses that crisscross the island: TALLINJA. I highly recommend this app. We traveled by bus all week without any issues. The next day, we spent the day in Valletta, the capital. That’s when we realized this destination is actually very popular—streets packed with thousands of tourists! Luckily, we managed to navigate through parallel alleys and find small hostels or bars to eat or grab a drink. The city is stunning and steeped in history. On the third day, we took the bus to the south of the island: MARSAXLOKK. A charming, authentic fishing port with plenty of waterfront restaurants and souvenir shops. We ate at CAFÉ DE PARIS—a delicious fresh fish, perfectly prepared. On the way back, we wandered through the beautiful town of Senglea. Then we ordered takeout from D VIRI'S TAKE AWAY near the guest house via email. It was delicious! On the fourth day, we left Villa del Porto and headed to Valletta by ferry to catch the GOZO FAST FERRY—a 45-minute catamaran ride to the island of Gozo. After a good lunch by the port, we took the bus to our destination: XLENDI. A village at the end of a gorgeous bay. We stayed at the San Andrea Hotel—a small room with a balcony and sea view. Fifth day: Bus to Victoria. A magnificent citadel, a meal at a small bar in Piazza San Frangisk, then we continued by bus to the north, stopping in Marsalforn for coffee by the sea and a short walk to the natural salt pans carved into the rock. Back to the hotel by bus. Sixth day: A short walk to Xlendi Tower, a watchtower at the entrance of the bay, beautifully restored. Then we set off on a sea excursion in a small boat for six passengers. Honestly, I recommend it! Two hours cruising along the breathtaking coastline and turquoise sea—20 € per person. www.gozoboathire.com Delicious lunch on the terrace at "The Boathouse Restaurant." Seventh day: We packed our bags again and returned to Malta by ferry to Cirkewwa. The terminal isn’t very welcoming—you have to take a bus to find a town. We had lunch in Mellieha, then continued our journey, still using local buses, to RABAT, next to the ancient fortified city of MDINA. Another stunning city we explored at our own pace once the tourists had left. Eighth day: Bus to the airport. In conclusion, we’re thrilled with our trip. Of course, we didn’t see all the sites recommended by guidebooks, but we wandered at our own rhythm and came back with a head full of memories, images, and great moments spent in Malta and Gozo.

Hi there, We’re heading to South Africa in August 2025 and planning a classic loop that I’d love to finish with the Drakensberg (I’m a big hiking fan) before returning to Johannesburg to catch our flight. I’ve got 3 nights for this part of our trip. But I’m wondering if it’s actually a good idea to hike in the Drakensberg in August, since it’s the Southern Hemisphere winter (I’m from Réunion and we hike year-round there, but I don’t know what the climate’s like in South Africa, especially the Drakensberg). I’m particularly worried about getting stuck because of snow and missing our flight... ;) I’ve read so many different things that I’m totally confused! If it’s okay to hike at this time of year, what would you recommend? I’m torn between Champagne Valley and Royal Natal National Park. Thanks in advance for your firsthand tips! Malijp
