Je suis en train de faire mon bac (en suisse) et j'aimerais partir au mois de novembre, dŽcembre pour une oeuvre humanitaire dans un pays Žtranger, si possible du sud! Je vais faire des Žtudes de physiothŽrapie (kinŽ!)et j'aimerais donc travailler dans un h™pital ou dans une Žcole, enfin partout pourvu que je sois utile! Je pense rejoindre le Costa Rica au mois de décembre et y séjourner un moment, J'ai pas mal de question qui me serait bien utile: 1) Ou peut-on trouver des hebergements à bon prix de préférence proche de la mer, quels sont les meilleurs spots? (camping, bengalow, cabinas, chez l'habitant, etc...) 2) Que pouvez me conseiller comme itinéraire de "visite découverte" sans passer par des tours operator? 3) y a t'il au Costa des possibilités de décrocher des petits boulots ou des activités en echange de repas et logement? 4) Quel est en moyenne le coût de la vie (bus, repas, visite, ...)? 6) La population est elle accueillante?

Je suis intéressée à partir cet été, pour une période de 3 à 4 semaines, soit en Afrique ou en Amérique centrale. Je veux aller découvrir un nouvel environnement et me sentir utile en même temps. J'aimerais bien trouvé quelque chose relié aux enfants, étant donné que je suis enseignante. Cependant, je suis ouverte à différents projets.

Je parcours depuis quelques jours différents sites Internet reliés à l'aide humanitaire. Cependant, les sites ou les informations trouvées proviennent toutes d'Europe. Je cherche donc avec qui entrer en contact ou différents organismes de la région de Montréal ou dans la province de Québec qui pourraient m'aider dans mes recherches. C'est un projet qui m'emballe et j'ai très hâte de le réaliser.

I’m starting to look at neighborhoods in Seoul, and I’m leaning toward staying in a hotel in Insa-Dong—I’ve spotted one really close to Unhyeongung. Is this a good area—nice and convenient for exploring the city?

Otherwise, I’ve also found another hotel in Yongsan-Gu, right near the station of the same name. Is that station useful for getting around Seoul?

Since I’ll be in South Korea for nearly two months, I plan to spend at least a week in Seoul to recover from jet lag (it takes me a while to adjust...). So, I’d love a neighborhood that’s pleasant and a hotel not too far from a subway station.

I’d like to add some info about the shrink-wrapping service for luggage at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand. The service is available all along the departures terminal (top floor). Some stations also have a luggage scale, while others don’t. A small cutter is provided and inserted into the protective plastic. In February 2026, the cost is 250 baht per bag and 10 baht for weighing. I’ll share some photos.

Hi, For those who’ve driven on Iceland’s gravel roads in their own or a rented Duster, could you tell me what tires were fitted on the vehicle? Were they All Terrain tires or more "standard" ones like all-season tires, for example?

Follow-up question: if they were "standard" tires, did that cause any issues on the gravel roads and rough terrain?

I’m planning a trip to Normandy and, after reading quite a few posts here, I still have some questions about the most logical order to avoid spending too much time on the road.

The idea is to have a fairly smooth itinerary, taking the time to enjoy the places, over about ten days (possibly a little more), combining the coast and the inland areas.

I’m particularly wondering about: – The best starting point (starting with Mont-Saint-Michel or saving it for the end) – The balance between the coastline and more inland areas – The areas where it’s really worth slowing down the pace

你好 (Nǐ hǎo) = Hello → Polite and useful with everyone (locals, drivers, vendors). 谢谢 (Xiè xie) = Thank you → Chinese people really appreciate this politeness—it makes communication smoother. 多少钱 (Duō shǎo qián) = How much does it cost → Essential for local markets or small shops (menus in French are rare!). 请问，地铁站在哪？ (Qǐng wèn, dì tiě zhàn zài nǎ lǐ?) = Excuse me, where is the subway station? → Swap “subway station” for “hotel” or “restaurant”—it works! 我要这个 (Wǒ yào zhè ge) = I want this → Point at the item and say this phrase—no more misunderstandings!

Bonus tip: Pinyin (the Chinese phonetic alphabet) is super helpful for reading street signs or menus. For example, “Nǐ hǎo” is pronounced “Nee how”—easy to remember!

I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).

I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...

But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question: Has anyone here had any experience with this? (Even if it’s a different medication or different countries, any input would be helpful!)
