Itinerary and Stages
- Day 1: Agadir.
-- Agadir: For decades, it has been Morocco’s main seaside resort and THE "holiday-relaxation" destination. The city also has an interesting hinterland.
- Day 2: Agadir surroundings with Imouzzer > Paradise Valley > Taghazout (approx. 150 km).
-- Imouzzer Waterfall: North of Agadir, this commune perched at over 1,100 m is home to a pretty waterfall. Several Amazigh villages nearby.
-- Paradise Valley: A lovely valley along a wadi in Agadir’s hinterland, perfect for a short hike.
-- Taghazout: A small fishing port renowned for surfing and its beautiful beaches.
- Day 3: Agadir > Souss-Massa National Park > Tiznit > Mirleft (approx. 150 km).
-- Souss-Massa National Park: Located almost at Agadir’s doorstep, the site is primarily known for birdwatching.
-- Tiznit: The city is best known for its ramparts surrounding the medina.
-- Mirleft: A large town between Tiznit and Sidi Ifni, popular for its beaches and surfing.
- Day 4: Mirleft > Sidi Ifni > Guelmim (approx. 100 km).
-- Sidi Ifni: One of the last cities, formerly Spanish, to gain independence in 1969. Limited interest despite its partly Art Deco style and nearby beaches.
-- Guelmim: Traditionally considered the gateway to the Deep South, the city was once a major caravan hub on the route to Timbuktu.
- Day 5: Guelmim > Amtoudi > Tafraout (approx. 250 km).
-- Amtoudi: A beautiful isolated oasis nestled in a gorge, with a stunning palm grove at the foot of the mountains.
-- Tafraout: At 1,200 m altitude, the town is dominated by striking granite cliffs. It lies at the heart of the Almond Valley, offering breathtaking landscapes and countless hiking opportunities.
- Day 6: Tafraout > Ammeln Valley > Tafraout
-- Ammeln Valley: Also known as the Almond Valley. It offers stunning landscapes and countless hiking opportunities.
- Day 7: Tafraout > Taroudant > Agadir (approx. 250 km).
-- Taroudant: Known as "little Marrakech" with its ramparts and walled city.
