Baltra is an uninhabited island near Santa Cruz, which is the most populated in the archipelago. It is the only one not part of the Galapagos National Park. Its sole purpose is to host the main airport of the Galapagos Islands, Seymour Airport, which means there is nothing else (accommodations or otherwise) on the island.

To get from the airport to Santa Cruz and Puerto Ayora, you first take a public bus to the "Muelle," which is the dock on Baltra Island. From there, a boat takes you to Santa Cruz in 10 minutes, then a bus to Puerto Ayora in 45 minutes. Everything is synchronized, and the total journey takes roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes for $3.
