Location Map of Bolivia
The Andes

This is western Bolivia and its most populated area. The region consists of two high mountain ranges stretching along a north-south axis and bordering a vast plateau, the Altiplano. Beyond the somewhat "clichéd" image, it still closely matches what one imagines of Andean destinations. It’s also where most of the country’s tourist sites are found.
Amazon and Eastern Plains

Accustomed to the traditional image of Bolivia’s high plateaus, one almost forgets that to the east of the Andean region lie vast tropical plains linked to the Amazon basin in the north, and forming the regions known as the Pantanal and the Chaco in the south.
