😕😕 Je reviens très déçue de Tunisie! Promovacances propose des itinéraires qui ne sont pas effectués, cette agence ne semble pas avoir assez d'exigence par rapport à leur représentant sur place. Nous avons fait le voyage dans 2 4x4 ayant des soucis mécaniques mais le plus grave fut l'absence du guide prévu. Nous avons donc eu un chauffeur -guide qui n'a pas été du tout professionnel. Avare d'explications, ne supportant pas la moindre question, à peine poli (même pas bonjour le matin), il a mis une tension dans le groupe. Pire après nos refus de certaines visites facultatives, il est devenu très désagréable. Il s'est moqué de nous et nous a fait faire des arrêts dans des endroits "bidon", exemple nous avons aperçu de très très loin les cîmes des palmiers de la corbeille de Nefta depuis la terrasse d'un café fermé, c'était glauque et décevant quand on connaît cette splendide palmeraie! Nous avons également eu droit à un arrêt dans un potager où se battaient 3 salades et 6 palmiers derrière une remise désafectée! Pathétique! A ce rythme, nous avons eu droit à des après-midi de libres non prévus dans notre programme. Nous avons payé des guides et des taxis locaux pour effectuer des visites, certaines prévues dans notre itinéraire! Les moments sans ce "guide" ont été les plus sympa du séjour! Ce n'est quand même pas normal!
Ce circuit est chouette à faire, nous l'avions déjà fait avec Fram, il y a plusieurs années et nous voulions le refaire avec nos enfants. Quel regret de l'avoir refait dans de telles conditions!
Nous avons signalé les difficultés que nous avons rencontrées à Promovacances mais nous n'espérons aucune réponse. Il y a 3 ans nous avions fait une croisière sur le Nil avec eux, l'agence locale nous avait proposé un bateau plus luxueux que celui prévu mais l'itinéraire n'avait pas été respecté, certaines visites n'avaient pas été effectuées.
L'année dernière notre fille est partie avec Promovacances pour le Maroc, suite à un soucis d'informatique, ils ont prélevé une assurance supplémentaire que nous ne voulions pas. Nos coups de fil pour obtenir le remboursement de ce prélèvement abusif n'ont jamais abouti! Nous choisirons un autre opérateur dans l'avenir!
Je reste à la disposition de tous ceux qui veulent en savoir plus sur le circuit dans le desert et les nuits proposées sous les tentes bédouines.

Je suis désolé pour vous. Je regrette sincèrement votre mésaventure avec ce chauffeur-guide Tunisien. il faut dire qu'un circuit en 4*4, généralement c'est le chaffeur qui fait office de guide, ou le guide qui fait office de chauffeur. Ce n'est pas pareil quand le circuit est en bus ou minibus.
Il m'est arrivé de tomber sur des chauffeurs-guides de ce genre, qui ne cherchent qu'à vous emmener chez des commerçants amis: plus vous achetez, plus ils sont contents, moins vous achetez plus ils deviennent désagréable. C'est réprimable et condamnable comme comportement. Ces gens ne sont pas concients que ce genre de comportement ne fais que contribuer à la raréfaction des clients, et du coup l'affaiblissement de leur revenus.
Il appartient au voyagiste d'éliminer ces parasites.
A votre place, je demanderai dédomagement aupres du voyagiste, mais il faut des preuves pour ça: photos, films. Même si la procédure n'aboutit pas, au moins le voyagiste s'intéressera aux prestataires locaux.

Il est vrai que nous avions fait ce circuit dans de meilleures conditions il y a quelques années, en 4x4 avec un chauffeur plus un guide, les deux avaient été formidables et pourtant cela se passait durant le ramadan et ce n'était pas facile pour eux! C'est dommage en effet de laisser de tels individus comme notre dernier "guide" se comporter ainsi! Je ne pense pas entamer une action envers Promovacances ayant dépensé temps et argent sans résultat pout le prélèvement abusif sur ma carte bleue concernant l'assurance non demandée. Ils ont reconnu leur erreur par téléphone mais ne l'ont jamais remboursée.
Ils ont définitivement perdu des bons clients! A eux de réagir pour vérifier si leurs prestations sont respectées. Notre fameux guide nous disait souvent qu'on aurait qu'à se plaindre en rentrant mais qu'il se moquait de l'iténéraire de Promovacances. Très sincèrement, nous voyageons beaucoup et sommes peu regardant pour des petits problèmes matériels mais nous n'avons jamais vu un tel "foutisme"! Je préfère avertir les internautes amoureux de voyages de notre mésaventure.

Il se peu bien fort que cette année je part en tunisie. Jai la chance qun ami tunisien vivant en suisse depuis plus de 30 ans me met a disposition sa maison au bord de mer. 'jaime bc aller au Maroc et sui allé plus de 10 ans de suite je connais mes cois non touristique ou je fai la pêche tranquille etc....
Il est vrai que si je vais en tunisie, il est bon de savoir ce que vous venez d'écrire et il est sûre et certain que je ne vais pas choisir l'agence que vous avez eu et j'éspère quils vont nous lire (peut être vontil amelliorer?). En effet quand on a un commerce on assumme!!!!!!! Parfois faut savoir ne pas gagner gros mais assurer de toujours gagner pour un longs térme en réspectant les gents, clients!! Mais cela pas tous le monde läpplique.

Bonjour, vraiment dsl pour ce circuit raté, ça arrive qu'une agence ne respecte pas son programme ou les chauffeurs ne sont pas sympas de tout ou non respect de circuit à faire. Mais la plupart choisient quand meme vu que ces types des circuits ne coutent pas cher. Je connais pas mal de voyageur qui font leurs propres circuits à la carte et selon leurs envies et demandes, ça coute un peu cher oui, mais la liberté d'aller n'importe ou, visiter, voir de prés les vraies payasages des endroits visités ... méritent bien . Juste il faut bien choisir avant de réserver des tels circuits.
J'espère que notre voyage se passera bien. On ne connait pas du tout le pays et on n'avait pas vraiment le temps de planifier un circuit nous mêmes, donc on s'est dit que pour notre première fois il serait bien de prend un voyage organisé et que par la suite on pourra revenir et faire notre propre circuit.
De toutes façons, je pense que y'a plus de chauffeurs sympas que des pas sympas, en général les témoignages sur ce genre de circuits sont positifs!🙂
J'espère que ce sera pas du vite fait et qu'on aura un peu le temps de se poser dans de beaux endroits et admirer le paysage!

Après lecture de votre message je comprends tout à fait que vous soyez déçue de votre circuit.
J'ai effectué en avril dernier un circuit en 4x4 (sud de la Tunisie) proposé par Jet Tours. Le seul petit souci que nous avons rencontré c'était avec l'Hôtel Abir de Djerba. à notre retour nous avons envoyé un courrier de réclamation et nous avons reçu un petit dédommagement. Sur place le circuit était organisé par l'agence "Tunisie Voyages" avec guide et chauffeur supers! Pour un premier voyage en Tunisie: un vrai régal!
Nous y retournons en 2008 et avec la même agence sur place ainsi que le même chauffeur.

Je reviens de Tunisie et du circuit organisé par Promovacances, c'était super, notre guide était très sympa, on a vu de merveilleux endroits, des paysages splendides, franchement pour notre premier voyage en Tunisie nous avons été enchantés. Les oasis de montagne, les souks, le lac salé....c'était magnifique. Le seul bémol que j'apporte c'est parfois le manque de temps dans certains endroits, je suis du genre à me poser et a comtempler et c'était pas toujours possible. Mais je conseille ce circuit à tout le monde, et encore, trois jours c'était un peu bref, une semaine est surement mieux!
En excursion facultative pour 25 euros on a passé 4 heures en plein désert en 4x4 dans une mine de mica, a chevaucher les dunes, admirer les paysages et aller voir le décor de star wars planète tatooine, ça vaut le coup! Ce fut notre meilleure journée.

Tu as raison Hammi, le cicuit en 4x4 que j'ai effectué en avril dernier était super. C'était un voyage Jet tours en partenariat avec l'agence "Tunisie-voyages" je pense que tu dois connaître cette agence! guide et chauffeurs merveilleux.
D'ailleurs une relation amicale s'est créée avec notre chauffeur.
En effet trois jours en Tunisie c'est très certainement trop court.
Nous y avons séjourné en avril dernier une semaine et j'ai aussi trouvé cela aussi trop court.
promovacances, jet tours, marmara et bien d'autres..... C'est vrai que le choix et très difficile.
Pour notre prochain séjour nous avons décidé de passer directement par l'agence sur place (Tunisie-Voyages) nous pensons apporter quelques modifications par rapport au circuit que nous venons de faire tout en privilégiant le sud.

Nous partons à deux en Tunisie fin décembre pour 1 tour d'une semaine. C'est le TO "Univair" en Suisse qui organise sur la base d'un circuit élaboré par Chibani Voyages, une agence à Tozeur et en Suisse qui fait uniquement du sur-mesure.
Nous avions déjà fait une excursion avec cette agence et le guide était top, parlait avec enthousiasme et ne nous a pas amenés chez des copains commerçants. 😉.
Pour ne pas se tromper et donner le bon pourboire aux bonnes personnes, je pense qu'il faut demander le guide recommandé par d'autres.
Ca n'est en aucun cas du snobisme, mais à 20 personnes, on n'a pas le même séjour qu'en comité réduit.
Au lieu de partir avec des TO qui ne garantissent pas une qualité constante, préférez la solution routard si vous ne voulez pas payer trop cher.

After that, we’re planning to visit Gorongosa National Park before flying back to France from Beira. We’re planning a 4x4 trip from Belgium to Central Asia, passing through Georgia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
For these countries, our national insurance obviously doesn’t cover the vehicle, so we’ll need to get local insurance.
Will it be a problem if the vehicle is registered under person A and the national insurance is under person B? Both A and B will be in the vehicle, and both will be listed as drivers on the insurance.
When we get the local insurance, if we again list A and B as drivers, does the order matter? Could we get stuck at the border for this reason?

Were they All Terrain tires or more "standard" ones like all-season tires, for example?

I’m planning a trip to Iceland for next July-August, with a car and tent, and I’m wondering about booking campsites.
From your experience, is it necessary or even essential to book campsites in advance, or do you always manage to find a spot to pitch your tent?
We’ll also have the option to sleep in the car without pitching the tent.
Does that give us the flexibility to stay outside a campsite for a night here and there?

Last year, we had a fantastic road trip in the Anti-Atlas and High Atlas using Erfahren maps, but unfortunately, they don’t cover the area we’re interested in this year.

We’re planning a 13-day family road trip in Morocco this July, with six people in a Toyota Prado 4x4 (renting in Marrakech).
We’ll alternate between bivouacking and small hotels/riads depending on the stops.

Our goal:
Atlas Mountains + desert + dunes + plateaus + valleys + a bit of coastline.
We’ll cover about 1,700 km in total.
We’re planning:
Bivouacking in the Chegaga/Iriki area
Flexible for the rest (booking the day before or same day)
Sand gear: traction plates, compressor, tow strap, roof rack
Questions:
Is the Zagora → Chegaga → Iriki → Foum Zguid crossing in July doable on our own (single vehicle, no guide)?
Are there any truly technical or risky sections between Chegaga and Iriki?
Does the overall itinerary seem manageable in 13 days without rushing?
Any suggestions for great bivouac spots or particularly interesting stops along this route?
The points on the route are provisional overnight stops. Some spots will include two nights in the same area.
We’re used to off-road driving, but not yet in the Moroccan desert.

We’re struggling a bit with timing and choosing activities for the part of the trip between Sesriem and Brandberg.
Day 1: Sesriem to Mirabib
Day 2: Mirabib to Swakopmund – visit Swakopmund, overnight in Swakopmund
Day 3: Sandwich Harbour – overnight in Swakopmund
Day 4: Kayaking with the seals + the living dunes – overnight in Swakopmund
Day 5: Moon Landscape, Henties Bay + Cape Cross – overnight at White Lady Lodge in Brandberg
Does this itinerary seem realistic to you? Is Cape Cross really worth the trip? If I had to choose between Cape Cross and kayaking with the seals, which would you recommend?

My son and I are heading to Georgia this summer to explore the High Caucasus (Svaneti, Kazbek, and Tusheti regions). For this, we’re planning to rent a 4x4.
However, the rental agencies we’ve found prohibit driving on the tracks to Omalo (Tusheti) and/or Ushguli (Svaneti).
Do you know of any agencies in Tbilisi (local and reliable) that allow rented 4x4s to drive on these tracks? If so, which ones?

I’d love to visit Gonarezhou National Park—I see there are two sectors: the Mwenezi Region in the south and the area around the Runde River in the north. Should I cover both sectors or just focus on the northern region?
For the parks along the Zambezi River, is it better to visit Mana Pools on the Zimbabwe side or Lower Zambezi on the Zambia side?

I’m leaving in November for about a month with the goal of reaching Senegal via Mauritania. I’d love to share this trip with someone who wants to discover Mauritania and a bit of Senegal... and also experience life on board a 4x4 in the desert or bush, sometimes sleeping in the vehicle or in hostels/small hotels for comfort. I’m looking for a rental company (or several) that offers single-cab 4x4 pick-ups with a fitted camper cell for two people. I’m specifically after a vehicle with an indoor shower for extra comfort ;)
So, no vans—at least not from the rental companies I’ve seen so far.
While browsing the forum, I came across the Chilean rental company Holiday Rent. But do you have any recommendations for Argentine rentals?
Because, if I can’t return the vehicle in the same city as pickup, I’d prefer—and it’d likely be cheaper—to at least return it in the same country.

My trip to South Africa is starting to take shape.
However, I'm struggling to figure out the route through Kruger Park. I can't seem to find the information I need about getting around.
Coming from the south, I plan to arrive on Day 1 in the early afternoon at Malelane or Crocodile Bridge.
Do some shopping in Malelane (or Crocodile Bridge main area) and stay overnight outside the park.
Leave on Day 2 at 5 AM for the park. Explore the southern part of the park.
Stay overnight around Skukuza or Lower Sabie. (We don’t want to stay in one of the park’s big camps. We’re looking for a lodge around 200 €.
Head out on Day 3 for a self-drive safari, maybe as far as Orpen.
We’d like to stay in a private reserve on nights 4 and 5.
We’re not sure which one or how to get into a private reserve. Do we need to exit Kruger Park?
On Day 5, we’d like to leave to visit Blyde Canyon (on Day 6).

When I arrive in Divundu, I’d like to head straight to the Khwai area early in the morning to one of the campsites in the Khwai Development Trust. Is the drive doable with a good 4x4 in a day?
We’ll spend 2 nights in Khwai, then 2 or maybe 3 nights in the Moremi area (Third Bridge/Xakanaxa/Mboma) before heading back to Maun to wrap up our journey.
Is that too much time to spend in each place?

I’m planning to explore the western part of Madagascar from May 1st to 5th, specifically to visit the Tsingy. I’ve heard different versions about the road conditions and access to the Tsingy during this time, so I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually made this trip during this time of year.
Have you traveled from Morondava → Tsingy between May 1st and 5th?
Was the journey doable and safe?
Did you have access to the Grands Tsingy, or just the Petits Tsingy?
