devant me rendre dans la région de Remada pour des recherches scientifiques, je voudrais connaître la situation administrative dans la région.
Faut-il demander une autorisation à Tataouine et auprès de qui ? Est-ce que l'un d'entre vous s'est rendu récemment dans la région de Remada ?

Il me semble qu'on ne peut pas aller très loin au sud de Tataouine sans cette autorisation qui, me semble-t-il, doit être retirée au gouvernorat de Tataouine.
Effectivement, cette zone nécessite une autorisation spéciale ainsi qu'un guide officiel (reconnu par les gendarmes & militaires). J'en connais un si besoin, il est très sérieux, parle couramment le français et il connait toute la région sur le bout des doigts. Dans certaines situations compliquées dans le désert (assistance, recherche, ...) les autorités font appel à lui.

Il y a quelques années de cela, en groupe nous avons fait un petit circuit tout au sud de le Tunisie : Remeda - Tiaret - Borj El Khadra - Cube Etchweche - Borj Elkhadra etc.
Nous l'avons fait avec un guide de la région et des autorisation que nous avons demandées et obtenues par le gouvernorat : tel 00.216.75.870.323.
Il fallait déjà à cette époque une autorisation obtenue via un guide officiel avec téléphone satélitaire et appareil GPS.
En aucun cas cette autorisation n'était donnée à des voyageurs individuels, il fallait passer OBLIGATOIREMENT par un guide. Maintenant vu les derniers évènements je ne sais même pas si la zone est ouverte, mais ce que nous avons vu et fait reste un merveilleux souvenir.

Tout à fait, à moins qu'il y ait un changement très récent, nous pouvons nous rendre à Remada en voiture sans autorisation, c'est au delà que l'on ne peut continuer.
C'est une route très fréquentée par les passeurs de carburant (essence Lybienne)qui desservent les pompes sauvages en Tunisie, en plus avec facilité sur le bord de la route d'échanger des dinars tunisiens et lybiens
C'est une économie parallèle ;-)
Je ne suis jamais allée au delà de Remada, je trouve que ce n'est pas vraiment engageant

Arrêté Républicain n° 2013-230 du 29 août 2013, portant proclamation d’une zone
frontalière tampon
Le Président de la République,
Vu la loi constituante n° 2011-6 du 16 décembre 2011, portant organisation provisoire des pouvoirs
publics, notamment le sous-paragraphe 7 de son article 11,
Vu la loi n° 69-4 du 24 janvier 1969, réglementant les réunions publiques, cortèges, défilés,
manifestations et attroupements,
Vu le décret n° 75-671 du 25 septembre 1975, fixant les attributions du ministre de la défense nationale,
Vu le décret n° 90-1195 du 6 juillet 1990, relatif au conseil national de sécurité,
Vu les délibérations du conseil national de sécurité en date du 19 avril et 20 août 2013,
Vu l’avis du chef du gouvernement et du président de l’assemblée nationale constituante et vu l’absence
d’objection de leur part.
Prend l’arrêté Républicain dont la teneur suit :
Article premier – Sont déclarées zone frontalière tampon pour une durée d’une année à compter de la
date du présent arrêté Républicain, les zones désertiques de la République Tunisienne indiquées aux
coordonnées figurant sur la carte ci-annexée et ce, conformément à l’identification suivante :
1- La partie sud de la zone saharienne de la Tunisie, s’étalant au sud entre la ligne reliant
entre Lozrot - Al-Borma – la frontière tuniso-libyenne et la frontière tuniso-algérienne
jusqu’à Borj El-Khadra,
2- La partie Sud-Ouest de l’espace Nord de la zone saharienne de la Tunisie couvrant la
bande avoisinant la frontière algérienne à une profondeur de 30 km entre Al-Matrouha et AlBorma.
3- La partie Sud-Est de la Tunisie avoisinant la frontière libyenne, qui comprend les issues de
Ras Jedir et Dhehiba et l’espace s’étalant entre la bande frontalière et la route qui en est
quasi-parallèle entre Ras Jedir et Lorzot.
Art. 2 – L’entrée à la zone frontalière tampon prévue à l’article précédent en vue du travail ou du tourisme
est soumise à l’autorisation du gouverneur concerné territorialement compétent.
Art. 3 – L’entrée et la sortie de la zone frontalière tampon prévue à l’article premier du présent arrêté
Républicain est effectuée à travers les portières suivantes : Kambout, Al-Kamour, Al-Jbeil ou Al-Matrouha
ou celles qui pourraient être créées ultérieurement, ainsi que les points de contrôle ou de fouille qui
devraient être indiqués à l’autorisation octroyée à la personne concernée.
Art. 4 – Les agents de l’ordre et les agents de la douane ainsi que les autres officiers de la police
judiciaire conservent, chacun en ce qui le concerne, à l’intérieur de la zone frontalière tampon prévue à
l’article premier du présent arrêté Républicain, les prérogatives de police judiciaire qui leurs sont
attribuées par la loi.
Art. 5 – Les forces de l’ordre et les agents de la douane en activité dans la zone frontalière tampon
prévue à l’article premier du présent arrêté Républicain sont soumis au commandement militaire qui
assure la coordination de toutes les missions sur terrain, les patrouilles et déplacements à l’intérieur de la
zone.
Le passé est passé, les guides obligatoires et tout le tintouin ne font plus partie du nouveau schéma officiel en attendant que quelques caïds/affairistes locaux😛 nous sortent une réglementation à leur façon pour chercher à nous faire payer dans le zone gratuite!
En regardant bien la carte on voit que la ville de Rémada n'est pas concernée dans son accès par le goudron mais j'étais dans les cañons de Segdel en juin et vous déconseille d'aller vous y balader car je n'y ai rencontré que des gens ABSOLUMENT INFRÉQUENTABLES🏴☠️ en train de traiter leur "commerce" trans-frontalier...
Il faut s'attendre à de nombreux contrôles sur cet axe et à mon avis, à l'impossibilité de sortir de Rémada par la route de Déhibat ou celle de Kanbout.
Patience! la révolution française, dévorée par nos rapaces du pouvoir, n'est pas encore terminée. Alors pour celle des Tunisiens rongée, en plus, par une guerre de religion qui ne veut pas dire son nom... ils sont pas sorti de l'auberge.

Si un quidam désire se rendre par le désert jusqu'à l'entrée d'el Borma, à Bordj Boughiba, Khamour ou à Bir Aouine il ne rencontrera aucune difficulté mais se fera refouler vers Kambout seulement à ce moment là. Maintenant s'il prend la piste du pipe il n'ira pas loin!
Cette réglementation, de l'époque Zaba, taillée pour faire plaisir à quelques caïds locaux à coup de 4200 DNT la semaine ressemble à tout sauf à un texte officiel venu de Tunis.

Je vous explique ma situation.
J'ai malheureusement perdu mon passeport , et je m'en suis rendu compte seulement 2 semaines avant mon départ pour une mission humanitaire en Libye. Je suis infirmière et cette mission me tient vraiment à cœur.
J'ai d'abord fait une demande de passeport d'urgence, qui a été refusée par la préfecture du Val-d'Oise, au motif qu'une mission humanitaire programmée ne constituait pas un motif impérieux.
J'ai donc déposé une demande de passeport biométrique le 20 juillet. Depuis, le suivi est bloqué et la mairie ne peut (ou ne veut) pas vraiment me donner d'informations. À chaque appel, on me donne une version différente. La dernière information que j'ai eue est que le passeport serait produit depuis le 23 juillet et avec un statut "va être expédié", mais depuis plus rien.
J'ai réussi à repousser mon départ au maximum à mardi prochain, mais je commence vraiment à paniquer.
Est-ce que certains d'entre vous ont déposé une demande autour du 20 juillet, notamment dans le Val-d'Oise (95) ? Combien de temps avez-vous attendu entre la production du passeport et sa mise à disposition en mairie ? Est-ce normal que cette étape prenne aussi longtemps ?
Cette mission représente énormément pour moi. J'avais tout organisé et je suis également censée assister au mariage d'une amie à la frontière juste après.

The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

There are rumors going around about the ETA: it must absolutely be on your smartphone in the "ETA" app.
Paper documents might not be accepted.

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
Does anyone have any recent info on this?
