Je suis au Canada depuis un peu plus d'une année et habite présentement à Montréal. J'ai fait une maîtrise en environnement en Europe et suis intéressé d'aller m'installer en Ontario pour améliorer mon anglais (le bilinguisme un atout dans le domaine de l'environnement) et y travailler comme professionnel de l'environnement.
Je voudrais donc savoir si parmi vous quelqu'un connaît bien les opportunités d'emploi en ENVIRONNEMENT en Ontario? J'aimerais travailler comme consultant en environnement (audit environnemental, évaluation environnementale de phase 1-2-3, conformité légale, gestion et caractérisation des matières résiduelles, gestion de projets environnementaux, implantation du système de gestion environnemental ISO 14001, enseignement, etc.).
Je serais très ravi d'avoir de vous des informations sur ce sujet.
Je n'ai pas de réponse à ta question, par contre je trouve très intéressant ton projet d'emploi en environnement en région anglophone. Pour ma pars, j'ai fais des études en hydrogéologie et géoenvironnement, et je n'ai malheureusement jamais réussi à me trouver d'emploi dans mon domaine. J'ai terminé mes études en juin dernier et malgré mes 25 envois de C.V. et lettres de présentation, je n'ai jamais reçu aucun retour d'appel... 🙁
Je suis très affligé par cette situation et pense sérieusement à aller voir ailleurs car je désir plus que tout mettre enfin mes connaissances en pratique et il semblerait qu'il n'y ai pas d'emploi dans ce domaine ici au Qc..!!

En plus, quand on ne maîtrise pas l'anglais dans le domaine de l'environnement, les chances de trouver un boulot deviennent encore plus restreintes.
En tout cas, je vais aller explorer le terrain du côté anglophone du Canada pour voir ce que ça va donner.

En fait, c'est tout à la fois décevant de réaliser qu'après tant de sacrifices et d'efforts que nous n'arrivions pas à se trouver un emploi dans notre domaine et pour ma part, encourageant de voir que je ne suis pas seule dans cette situation. À vrai dire, c'est vraisemblablement la même réalité pour plusieurs finissants de ma cohorte de cette année, quelques un sont retournés travailler dans leur ancien domaine faute de job. Pour les autres, ils sont pour la plupart sur le chômage en ce moment. Or, plusieurs questions demeurent sans réponse. Ne lisait-on en gros titre « Quand l’offre ne satisfait pas la demande : Pénurie de main-d’œuvre et enjeux dans le secteur des sites contaminés » à voir sur www.eco.ca/pdf/contsites_rpt_08_fr.pdf ou « Qui s’occupera de la décontamination? Mais où sont donc tous ces dits emplois??? Depuis le mois de juin et ce, à temps plein, je scrute les Jobboom, Monster, Workopolis, Emploi-Québec, les journaux, sites d’entreprises, Eco-canada, etc. C’est vide, en tout au plus une quinzaine d’emplois depuis Juin sur l’ensemble de ces sites! La bible demeure www.icriq.com/fr/ où de là, j’ai fais parvenir mon C.V. à plus de 25 employeurs potentiels du domaine de l’environnement dans la grande région de Montréal mais je n’ai jamais eu un seul retour d’appel malgré mes nombreuses relances, ni entrevue, ni de réponse courriel..!! Rien. Niet. Que se passe-t-il au juste??? N’étais-ce pas une soit disant industrie anti-récession? Quelqu’un aurait une réponse?
Aujourd’hui je suis face à cette triste réalité au point où je songe sérieusement, tout comme toi Mac, à m’expatrier pour qu’enfin je puisse réaliser mon rêve qui est, hé oui, simplement travailler dans mon domaine (Caractérisation, décontamination et réhabilitation des sites contaminés, Phases 1-2-3, l’assainissementdes sols, des sédiments et eaux souterraines…). Après toutes mes démarches de recherche d’emploi et de cette expérience, j’en suis arrivé à la même conclusion que toi. La majorité des employeurs exigent un niveau d’anglais qualifié « très bon ». Par contre, avec un anglais plutôt faible, je suis loin d’être bilingue. Ainsi une nouvelle réalité resurgie: comment arriver à se trouver un travail dans un domaine contingenté alors qu’on ne maîtrise pas la langue du pays? Malgré toute notre bonne volonté, crois-tu qu’il serait possible de se frayer un chemin et d’y trouver notre place? Et toi, comment conçois-tu cette réalité?
Ecoute, ton dernier message m'a fait très plaisir tant tu as fait une analyse à la fois objective et pertinente de la réalité de l'emploi dans le domaine de l'environnement au Québec. En te lisant, je me disais que tu regardais dans ma pensée pour écrire tes observations. Tant il y a une similitude entre nos deux visions par rapport à la réalité de l'emploi dans le domaine de l'environnement.
A mon avis, tu as dépeint la situation telle que beaucoup d'entre nous la décriraient. Des fois, il y a trop de fausses publicités autour de certaines formations alors que les vraies possibilités d'emploi dans ces domaines sont tout autres. On crée chez les gens un engouement à se former dans ces domaines tout simplement pour que ces formations puissent continuer d'exister alors qu'il y a un diphasage avec la réalité offres d'emploi.
Mais l'espoir demeure pour ceux d'entre nous qui ont compris qu'on peut aussi aller voir ailleurs (hors du Québec) si l'on tient à travailler dans le domaine professionnel, qui suscite le plus d'intérêt pour nous: l'ENVIRONNEMENT. Je conseille vivement à tous ceux-là qui voudraient travailler dans le domaine de l'environnement dans le contexte canadien d'être bilingues (cela augmanterait énormément leur chance). Parce que s'ils ne le sont pas, ils passeront à côté de pas mal d'opportunités d'emploi dans ce domaine.
Phenixx, on reste en contact, car le réseau peut aussi être porteur. Par rapport à ta formation (hydrogéologie et géoenvironnement), quand je verrai des postes à pourvoir, je te tiendrai informer.

J'ose t'envoyer un message car tout comme toi je souhaite exercer dans le domaine de l'environnement.
Je suis actuellement étudiante et j'entame ma dernière année d'études en septembre.
Je voudrai à cette occasion effectuer un stage dans les domaines de l'environnement que tu as cité dans ton premier post (bureau d'études, conseil, décontamination des sols, etc) au Canada, car d'une part j'aime ce pays (j'en suis tombée amoureuse lors de mon voyage) et d'autre part j'apprécie le fait qu'ils mettent en avant l'environnement, sujet qui me passionne.
Mais tout comme toi au début, trouver un job dedans n'est pas chose aisée: j'ai contacté les entreprises telles que Golder Associés, et je n'ai soit pas eu de retour, soit il n'y avait pas de postes à pourvoir.
Aussi vu ton post et la date à laquelle cela remonte, je suppose que depuis lors ta situation a changé: est-il possible que tu me donnes quelques informations pour pouvoir trouver un stage là bas pour janvier 2014?
Malheureusement, c'est aujourd'hui que je viens de voir ton message de 2013, donc après 4 ans passés. J'espère que tu as déjà peut-être trouvé un emploi depuis cette date-là. Quant à moi, j'ai pu trouvé du travail depuis 2010, mais un autre domaine. Et je suis d'ailleurs content de cela que l'environnement. Alors, bonne chance dans ton parcours professionnel et au plaisir de te rencontrer peut-être un jour pour prendre peut-être un café amical ensemble et bavarder un peu. Merci et porte-toi bien.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
