Je veux aller au BC ou Alberta cet été pour travailler et apprendre l'anglais. On m'a dit que le mieux était Jasper en Alberta.
J'aimerais un travail manuel mais qui me permet d'apprendre quand même l'anglais. Idéalement j'aimerais partir en bus autour du 30 mai du Québec pour aller dans l'ouest et quitté l'ouest début aout. J'ai vue sur ce forum qu'on parle des emplois dans les parcs canadien, j'ai postullé pour BC et Alberta la semaine passé sur leur site web.
J'aimerais avoir de l'information par rapport aux emplois que je peux trouver facilement, les logements et les meilleurs places (villes) pour travailler...
Jasper est mon coin prefere des Rocheuses, mais la ville est assez petite. Il y a plus d'emplois vers Banff-Lake Louise.
Il y a aussi Canmore, qui est juste en dehors du Parc National de Banff, donc pas soumis aux memes restrictions. La-bas tous les serveurs-ses sont des quebecois, ou presque.

Je connais pas precisement le marche de l'emploi a Canmore ou Jasper, mais se sont des stations touristiques, donc il y a du boulot dans tout ce qui tourne autour de ca, du guide de montagne au mec qui fait la plonge.

Il faut connaître la situation particulière du parc national. Les employeurs la connaissent bien. Banff étant un parc, la construction y est en principe interdite. Même si sa population cherche à progresser au fil des ans.
Ils savent qu'à moins d'avoir trouvé ton propre logement (souvent un apparte en ville, à un coût exorbitant, partagé à plusieurs), tu seras logé dans un bâtiment lui appartenant, pour une somme plus ou moins avantageuse (dépendant de ce que c'est), à tant par mois.
On appelle ces endroits des staff house. À plusieurs dans une même chambre ou dans plusieurs petites chambres individuelles.
Desman t'a fourni l'image de ce qui se passe en général dans ces villes. Côté logement, généralement, il n'y en a pas de disponible. Rarissime à Canmore, encore moins à Banff. Les gens se sont repliés vers Canmore, qui a son tour, vu l'offre et la demande... Mais avec un peu de chance...
Jasper de son côté, vois des gens moins 'party' que Banff et Lake Louise débarquer. Davantage d'amateurs de plein-airs. Davantage de chance d'apprendre l'anglais. Tout comme l'idée de sortir de là où les francophones s'agglutinent pour voir du pays, des gens, vivre des trucs et trouver des jobs plus payantes.
Calgary pourrait se comparer à Montréal, tandis qu'Edmonton, à Québec. Aucune n'étant meilleur que l'autre, juste à titre de comparaison pour leur structure.

Pas forcément, dépend + du domaine d'emploi recherché, et ta personnalité. Tes buts à court, moyen ou long terme.
Y'a le travail logé+nourri dans les camps au nord d'Edmonton. Pas de loyer à payer... Anglophone
Ce qui, après quelques mois de travail, te permets de faire du tourisme et découvrir Calgary, Canmore, Banff, Jasper et Edmonton, mettons.
Calgary, a les caractéristiques de Montréal (bouchons; beaux parcs; proximité de Banff; loyers $, cafés, restos exhorbitants; etc.)
Banff & L. Louise sont, un 2e Québec... avec des gens portés sur le party. Salaire minime.
Jasper est davantage isolée, plus loin, sauvage. Plus petite & moins commerciale que Banff.
Difficile de te conseiller et que mes conseils (ou ceux d'autres) soient exacts. L'économie change, tout comme les occasions qui se présenteront à toi.
Ex.: que dirais-tu si en te présentant au Alpine Centre à Canmore, on serait à la recherche d'un assistant-gérant? Avec la possibilité de dormir et manger sur place.
Ou une occasion à .... ?
Échanger avec les québécois rencontrés sur place ne t'aideront pas dans ton anglais, mais à échanger des conseils, qui devront être évalués, en rapport avec ce que tu vises.
Rechercher un emploi implique surtout de savoir ce qui nous convient, d'avoir les 'antennes' en mode réception, évaluer le pour et le contre, poser les bonnes questions à l'employeur, négocier au besoin et, go! (ou pas). Où trouver ce que tu cherches? Avec quelles concessions?
J'espère avoir pu répondre à plusieurs de tes interrogations. Mais quoi qu'il arrive, n'hésite pas à t'y rendres. Et si tu ne trouves pas ce que tu cherches, déplaces-toi !
