Est-ce que vous pourriez me dire si je ne risque pas d'avoir un temps trop frais au début du mois de juin (le 2 juin exactement nous arrivons) à Rhodes. Je pensais partir à la mi-juin mais comme mon travail ne me laisse pas le choix, je ne peux partir que les deux premières semaines de juin et là j'ai vraiment peur qu'il va pas faire beau...
Vu que dans mon peit pays il fait rarement plein soleil, j'espère quand même trouver environ 30 degrés et un beau soleil à mon arrivée en vacances.😛

Je suis aller a Rhodes il y a 2 ans, les 2 première semaine de Juin et il a fait un temps magnifique, les premières
journées il y avait beaucoup de vent mais après c'est revenue a la normale, environs 27 degrés et a tout les
jours le soleil était au rendez-vous.
Tu peux apporter une petite laine pour le soir, mais pour le reste ça va, tu dois loué une voiture et faire le tour de l'ile, c'est magnifique ! et aussi tu peux prendre un ferry et aller sur l'ile de Symi, a voir absolument et celle de Kos aussi qui est trés verte et tout près de la Turquie.

c'est l'ile la plus ensolleillée de grèce: tu auras 30 degrés sans prob'

11 jours c'est parfait, tu vas avoir le temps de faire le tour de l'ile et de visiter les iles que je t'ai nommées, moi j'y suis rester 7 jours et j'ai presque tout vue, je dis presque parce qu'il reste toujours quelque chose a voir, j'aimerais bien y retourner un jour.
Moi j'avais loué une chambre a l'hôtel Panorama Genadi, un petit hôtel 2 étoiles tenu par un Français et son épouse Grecque, situé dans le petit village de Genadie, retire et loin des foules, j'avais payer 45 Euros par jours.
Ce petit village est bien situé pour visiter l'ile, il est au milieu de l'ile non loin de Lindos donc on a jamais de grandes distance a parcourir pour visiter l, ile.
j'espére que le lien fonctionne encore ! sinon tu trouveras bien.
Un autre petit tuyau si il te reste quelque jours a ton voyage, tu pourrais faire une petite visite (2 ou 3 jours ) sur l'ile de Karpathos, elle commence tout juste a s'ouvrir au touristes, magnifique! avec ces petits villages typiques et c'est belles plages désertes, mais la liaison en ferry est difficile (horaires), sinon tu peux prendre l'avion (40 minutes)et pas très chers.

Comme tu es allé souvent en Grèce, ton aide me paraît plus que précieuse.
Mon copain et moi comptons aller dans les îles grecques 3 semaines. Nous hésitons à partir soit les trois premières de mai, soit les trois dernières de juin (ce sont nos disponibilités). Y a-t-il beaucoup plus (trop) de touristes en juin? Les prix sont-ils ceux de la haute saison? Fait-il trop chaud (étouffant)? La nature est-elle aussi jolie qu'en mai?
Combien d'îles nous conseilles-tu de visiter en trois semaines? Lesquelles? Nous aimons beaucoup la nature, les paysages, la bouffe, lle dépaysement, la chaleur de l'accueil, l'authenticité (nous fuyons les stands à cartes postales et installations touristico-mochetonnes)...
Côté budget, nous ne recherchons pas les hôtels luxueux. Sympathiques, propres, jolis et pas chers (30-40 euros par jour). Rêvons-nous en couleurs?
À notre arrivée à Athènes, est-ce préférable d'avoir déjà réservé notre départ pour une première île? Devrions-nous rester quelques jours à Athènes?

si tu veux profiter de la baignade part en Juin l'eau sera meilleure, il y aura un peu plus de monde qu'en Mai mais ce n'est pas la haute saison et il ne fait pas encore trop chaud, les iles il y a toujours du vent
les prix seront plus bas en Mai cela c'est sur 😎
en 3 semaines tu peux faire raisonablement 5 iles et Athénes pour la fin du voyage par ex, pour les prix compte plutot pour des hotels entre 40 et 50 Euros avec petit déjeuner un peu moins cher chez l'habitant mais sans petit déj
te conseiller des iles pas faciles chacun à les siennes
essaye d'acheter le guide Lonely planet Athénes et les iles en Francais edition 2008 c'est une mine de renseignements

Trois semaines ça vas être super, tu auras amplement le temps.
Je te suggère comme ça été mentionner plus haut d'y aller en Juin, les touristes commencent a peine a arriver et il y a encore beaucoup de choix pour les hôtels, et le seul endroit où ça peut être étouffant c'est a Athènes, sur les îles c'est bien, pour 40 à 50 Euros tu dois regarder les petits hôtels 2 étoiles, moi en juin j'ai déjà payer 25 euros la nuit pour un séjour de 5 nuits.
Pour les moyens de transport entre les îles, il y a les ferrys, moins chers mais assez lent, puis les speedboats, un peu plus chers mais plus rapides, ensuite les petites avions, très rapides mais plus dispendieux
Voila ce que je te conseille, (tu en fait ce que tu voudras)
Avant de partir tu réserve un départ en avion de l'aéroport d'Athènes pour l'île de Rhodes, laisse toi au moins 2 à 3 heures de jeu entre ton arrivé a Athènes et ton départ pour Rhodes.(1 heure de vol)
A Rhodes tu te loue une voiture pour visiter l'île, ( au moins 5 jours ) de Rhodes tu peux faire des visites d'une journée en speedboat sur d 'autres îles comme Karpathos, Symi, Kos.
Ensuite de Rhodes, Avion pour l'île de Crète, il y a aussi je croit un ferry en partance de Karpathos qui se rend a Sitia en Crète ( a vérifier).
La Crète est la plus grande île de Grèce, tu peux prendre facilement une semaine pour la visiter, un conseil pour ta location de voiture je te conseille de loué un petit 4x4 (suzuki) car il y a beaucoup de chemin de terre pour ce rendre dans de beau endroits surtout les petites plages désertes.
Puis si il te reste environ une semaine, de Crète tu dois te rendre en ferry (4 heures) sur l'île de Santorini, un incontournable, avec Fira et sa magnifique caldéra et le petit village d'Oia et son coucher de soleil, tu peux passer au moin 3 jours a Santorini et garde toi 2 jours pour Athènes avant de revenir au Québec (sniff).
De Santorini tu peux revenir en ferry et arrêter sur une autre île(Folégandros) et continué j'usqu'a Athènes où tu peux revenir directement en avion à Athènes, ouffff!

Tu n'as pas besoin de réserver tout tes hôtels, seulement en arrivant a Rhodes et tes 2 jours à Athènes, les hôtels ne sont pas plein a ce temps de l'année et ça te donneras plus de liberté.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
