Hi,

Currently, it's possible to travel for 180 days in Mexico without a visa (just with a valid passport for French nationals). Could you please tell me, when a traveler leaves Mexico after staying for 180 days, how long they need to wait before re-entering by air? Thanks so much for your feedback. liza

Hello, Mexico is one of my biggest travel projects, probably for 2027, after my contract in Madagascar ends. I probably won’t stay longer than three weeks, but I’m still thinking about it. Otherwise, from what I know, the 180-day visa exemption is considered a single entry... in other words, once you’ve left Mexican territory, this authorization is no longer valid. Furthermore, some sources say there’s no official waiting period imposed by Mexican authorities to return after staying 180 days, but it’s advised to wait at least 24 hours before attempting a new entry to avoid any suspicion of abusing the immigration system. At best, wait at least one or two good weeks, but it’s better to do thorough research before trying anything. Cheers!
