Jobs/Training in Morocco

Hi everyone,

As an anthropologist, I’m planning to move to Rabat in the coming months, partly to give my career a new sense of purpose.

In that context, do you happen to have any advice or names of organizations/associations you could share to help me shape my job-search strategy?

I’m also considering—if the opportunity arises—starting a training program or beginning a *Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience* (VAE) to become a specialized educator. Do you think it’s better to complete this program in Morocco or to obtain my VAE in France?

Looking forward to your feedback, and thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Ludivine

Do you think it’s better to complete this program in Morocco or get my VAE in France?

Hi—it’s really up to you to weigh the options and answer that question; we can’t decide for you. Just be careful about diploma recognition—sometimes they aren’t valid abroad. You’d also want to look at what job opportunities a degree in anthropology can lead to. Other than becoming a researcher at the CNRS, I don’t see many…

Hello,

I didn’t quite understand what you’d like to do specifically in Rabat as an anthropologist. “Giving meaning to your professional journey”... “developing your job search strategy”... Do you mean, more simply: how to go about finding a job in anthropology in Rabat?

Regarding a VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) to become a specialized educator: The VAE system is French and, by definition, requires you to already have experience in the targeted field. Do you have any in France? Or is your question about gaining experience in Morocco in this field, to then validate it in France? The profession of specialized educator doesn’t exist in Morocco, and therefore neither does the training. There are educators (not specialized and without formal training) who are more like activity leaders or teachers in kindergarten classes. There are also educators (also not specialized and without training) who work mainly in child protection or in centers for children with disabilities.

Gaining experience as an educator in this context in Morocco might not qualify for a VAE in France. I’d recommend checking with a social work training institute in France; they’ll give you precise information.

hi, the whole point of VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) is having experience. Do you have any as a specialized educator (acting in that role)? There are associations that organize "break" trips in Morocco for young offenders too
