Je sais que les hotels Casino de Las Vegas ont des logiciels perfectionnés qui tiennent compte de statistiques pour le calcul des prix des chambres. Mais ma question est la suivante : une fois le prix fixé, peut-il bouger ???
Je regarde les taris pour juin 2008 et j'ai comparé plusieurs hotels, mais les prix qu'on trouve maintenant peuvent-ils varier à la hausse ou à la baisse dans les mois à venir ??
Vaut-il mieux réserver maintenant pour Juin et Juillet ou attendre le printemps ??? L'interet de reserver maintenant est que le le change est au plus bas, vu que tu paie la 1ere nuit en réservant c'est interessant... mais si les prix des chambres baissent plus tard, je serai perdante même si le dollar remonte un petit peu... Je n'arrive pas à me décider...

J'ai déjà réservé une nuite au Golden Nugget pour 89 euros (121 USD ttc) pour 4 car le prix était interessant et on voulait passer une nuit à Downtown, mais sur le strip, les prix sont bien plus élevé si on cherche au Paris, New York, Caesar, Louxor... bref des hotels casino connus. On préfèrerai coucher dans ces hotels connus, ce n'est pas tous les jours qu'on a l'occasion d'aller à Vegas... donc on a envie de "frimer" un peu...😛
Les prix fluctuent selon la disponibilité des hotels. sur place, le jour même tu peux faire de bonnes affaires mais aussi payer cher un hotel moyen, il n'y a pas de règle excepté ne pas être à LV entre le vendredi et le dimanche soir.
Les hotels que tu cites sur le strip sont assez chers. Par contre le Flamingo situé sur le strip face au Caesar Palace est idéalement placé et dispose de chambre que j'ai payé 71 $ HT la nuit l'été dernier. Une bonne affaire.
Ensuite je pense qu'il s'agit de comptes d'apothicaires entre le €€ à 1, 30 ou 1, 40 $, ça ne change pas vraiment grand chose. Ca fait 5 € sur une chambre à 100 $, soit 100 € sur 3 semaines de vacances.
Personnellement, je réserve et essaye de payer avant pour échelonner les paiements.

Au Flamingo, la chambre la moins chère, non pas en Deluxe, mais en standard est à 90€ .Et tu as entre autres l'Excalibur à 60€ ce qui reste raisonnable pour des hôtels de ce standard ! Je parle bien du 16 Juin .
Compare avec le prix d'un simple Novotel dans une zone industrielle en France et ça relativise 😛
Ensuite, il y a aussi des conventions ou des expos qui peuvent faire monter les prix même en semaine !
Les prix que tu as vu doivent être pour 2 personnes... nous sommes 2 adultes et 2 enfants et les enfants ne couchent pas gratos à Vegas (sauf Excalibur et 1 ou 2 hotels). Et je trouve que le supplément est cher pour les enfants (souvent entre 20 et 40 USD PAR ENFANT)... Je me suis d'ailleurs posée la question de savoir si je me risquais à réserver uniquement pour 2 adlutes... vu que toutes les chambres ont 2 queen beds... je suis sure que c'est possible de monter dans les chambres à 4 en déclarant seulement 2 personnes (surtout avec le monde qui grouille partout même au check in des hotels)... mais j'ose pas...

Parfois ça monte aussi. nous serons à Las Vegas le 01/11, c'est un jeudi mais il y a une grosse convention automobile (je savais pas quand j'ai prévu, les prix sont hauts du mardi au samedi 🙁) et les prix des grands casinos n'ont cessé de monter depuis 6 mois. Exemple, l'excalibur était à 150 $ en juin (déjà cher) et maintenant à 220 $ !
Je me suis rabattue sur le super 8 de Koval lane à 60 $, on se fera un palace la prochaine fois (si y a une prochaine) et je me console en me disant qu'on attendra moins au frontdesk....
tout ça pour dire que quand tu trouves un prix qui correspond à ce que tu veux, réserve !
Je viens de vérifier pour le Motel 6 et c'est 46.79$ pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants. J'y étais en nov. 2006 et c'est correct pour le prix. Les chambres ne sont pas très grandes mais c'est propre. Il y a une piscine et le plus gros avantage c'est que tu stationnes l'auto devant ta chambre et non pas à des "miles". Autre avantage du Motel 6, tu réserves en donnant ton numéro de carte de crédit et tu peux canceller sans frais n'importe quand. À ta place je réserverais là et si tu trouves mieux tu annules tout simplement. Le motel est sur Tropicana (195 est) à 5 minutes à pied du MGM.

les grands esprits doivent se rencontrer ... lol😛 car c'est justement ce que j'ai fait pour l'instant, réserver le MOTEL 6 de Tropicana Avenue...
En fait, nous arrivons à l'aéroport le 16 juin vers 17 h00 et devrons prendre le taxi car nous récupérons une voiture de location seulement le lendemain matin sur le strip... On gagne ainsi 300 euros, ce qui n'est pas rien... Beaucoup moins cher de prendre la voiture ailleurs qu'à l'aéroport... Par contre, nous devrons récupérer la voiture à l'hotel Paris (à priori c'est l'agence Hertz la plus proche) : cela doit faire environ 1.5 - 2 kms maxi à pied... Sais-tu si c'est faisable facilement à pied avec les enfants ?? Nous n'aurons pas les bagages car nous comptons y aller assez tôt le matin en laissant les bagages dans notre chambre et être revenu avant l'heure du check out. Je pense qu'en maxi 45 minutes de trajet du Motel 6 au Paris, ça doit être faisable ?? Non ??
Et je compte ensuite environ 1 heure entre la prise de la voiture et retour à l'hotel Motel 6 pour reprendre les bagages : est-ce suffisant ??
J'essayais en fait de trouver un hotel plus proche du Paris (voir même le Paris) pour être plus proche de la prise en charge de la voiture... mais le prix du MOTEL 6 est imbatable et il a une bonne critique sur le Guide du Routard et Tripadvisor... Je crois qu'on va finir par y aller.
Où peut-on manger "pas trop mal" à proximité immédiate du Motel 6 ?? Je pense que les enfants seront claqués par le voyage en avion et décallage, donc pas question de trop naviguer le 1er soir : je me souviens il y a 9 ans, on est arrivé à Vegas complétement décalqués par le vol et décallage.. On avait qu'une envie, c'était de repartir (c'est presque vrai en plus) : tout ce gigantisme, ce bruit pour nos pauvres cerveaux fatigués... donc j'imagine les enfants...

excalibur 59 euros et au milieu du strip bills gamblin hall et saloon 95 euros, comme je ne connais pas l'age de tes enfants j'ai mis 7 et 9 le bills gamblin est situé en face du caesar palace, top emplacement cet hotel n'a ^pas de piscine mais depuis qu'il est rentrer dans le groupe harras tu as acces a la piscine du flamingo qui est super chouette pour les enfants.

Je vous parie que ça va aller comme sur des roulettes pour les enfants, comme c'est souvent le cas.
Je pense comme Néfer soit qu'un seul des parents récupère la voiture et retourne chercher la marmaille au Motel 6. La circulation à pied à Végas n'est pas très évidente pour des enfants. Alors va récupérer la voiture le plus tôt possible soit à l'ouverture des guichets (même arrive 10 minutes avant) et retourne ensuite au motel.
Calcule 1 h 30 pour le tout (si pas trop de monde chez Hertz).
Pour manger pas trop cher, il y a un resto tout à côté du Motel 6 (en allant vers le strip). Le Coco's. Il y a aussi un mini mart à même le Motel 6 (ça dépanne).
Essaie d'avoir une chambre dans le bloc est du motel et avec une vue sur l'ouest.

On loge au Flamingo et on projette le Grand Canyon avec la compagnie d'hélicos Maverick. On va voir Céline et O. Je veux avoir ton point de vue sur ce qu'il ne faut pas manquer, les restos, etc. et en même temps te donner de nos nouvelles et avoir des tiennes.

De la terre à la lune, il n'y a qu'un pas à franchir pour découvrir toutes les beautés dorées par le soleil.
On pensait tous aller chercher la voiture car mon mari ne parle que 2 mots d'anglais... donc pas évident pour la prise en charge de la voiture.. Et moi, pas trop envie de conduire tout de suite dans Vegas avec une boite de vitesse automatique ...
Je crois qu'on avisera sur place... De toute manière, avec le décalage horaire, tout le monde sera debout à 5-6 heures du mat... (vous les Canadiens n'avez pas ce soucis, mais tous les Européens se réveillent très tôt les 1ers jours), ce qui nous laissera largement le temps d'aller chercher la voiture avant le check out...
Mais je vais garder la chambre du Motel 6 et si vraiment au dernier moment il y a un bon coup à faire sur le Stip à proximité du Paris, et bien j'annulerai le Motel 6
Je comprend votre point de vue pour aller chercher la voiture. Par contre, il faut vérifier à quelle heure votre comptoir Hertz au Paris sera ouvert et je me répète mais allez y avant l'ouverture. Moi, j'avais loué chez Dollar au MGM, j'étais là à 8 15 (ouverture à 8 h 30) le 3e dans la file et j'ai été servi vers 9 heures.
J'ai de la difficulté avec votre inquiétude concernant les voitures automatiques. Il y a le P = park lorsqu ela voiture est arrêtée R = Pour reculer N= Neutre (ne jamais s'en servir) D = Drive pour avancer.
Vous pesez sur le frein, vous mettez en position D et c'est parti, plus besoin de toucher au bras de vitesse par la suite. Qu'est ce qu'il y a de compliqué là dedans. C'est beaucoup plus simple que les transmissions manuelles ou tu dois continuellement peser sur les 2 pédales et changer de vitesse. C'est un jeu d'enfant la transmission automatique.
M'étonnerais pas que peut-être l'aîné va apprendre très rapidement le maniement de la voiture à transmission automatique.😄

Ne vous inquiétez pas pour le "parler en anglais". Un sourire et bargouinez quelques mots, puis ça va aller. Au pire, il y aura bien quelqu'un pour vous venir gentiment en aide, j'en suis certain.
J'imagine bien que tous les papiers seront prêts puisque vous avez réservé. Alors vous présentez une carte de crédit, votre permis de conduire; une ou deux signatures comme quoi vous refusez (peut-être pas) certaines assurances et hop, vous allez choisir votre voiture parmi celles qui restent.
Ça c'est passé comme ça pour moi chez Thriffty le 3 et le 12 septembre dernier au McCarran-rent-a-Car Center.
Ne râlez surtout pas si le modèle réservé n'est plus disponible, c'est que vous viendrez alors de bénéficier d'un "upgrade" tout à fait gratuitement.😊
Vu que le papa aura bien étudié sa route pour revenir chercher le reste de la famille au Motel 6, ça va tellement bien aller que les enfants ne voudront pas sortir sitôt de la piscine.
Indépendamment du problème "j'y vais tout seul chercher la voiture ou toute la famille m'accompagne" 😉, du motel 6 au Paris c'est environ 20 minutes à pied, soit +/- 1, 5 km. Pas spécialement loin...
Si un peu de marche fait peur aux enfants 😉, il y a le monorail au MGM (en face du Motel 6), qui vous déposera à l'arrêt suivant au Bally's (contigu au Paris).

Je m'excuse encore de me mêler de vos affaires mais de grâce ne prenez pas le monorail pour vous rendre à l'hôtel Paris. Ça va vous coûter environ 16$ pour les 4, l'arrêt au MGM n'est pas facile à localiser. Vous allez marcher 10 minutes en tout et faire 1 minute de monorail car vous devez sortir à la première station. Vous seriez aussi bien de prendre un taxi, ça va coûter 6-7$.
Si vous voulez absolument prendre le monorail, au moins faites le parcours au complet, sortez à la dernière station et reprenez le monorail dans le sens inverse. Vous ne paierez pas en double pour ça et vous allez avoir un aperçu de la ville mais s.v.p. ne prenez pas le monorail pour une seule station.
En regardant sur google map c'est 15-20 minutes de marche maximum et vous ne risquez pas de vous perdre, alors que pour le monorail quand vous sortez vous arrivez naturellement dans un casino et bonne chance pour trouver la sortie du premier coup.

Les tarifs ne baissent pas sauf le jour même, il faut passer au visitor center, il y a une "bourse" à la chambre.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.
I’m currently putting together my day-by-day roadbook and having some trouble planning certain days, like in LA or Las Vegas. Choosing hikes isn’t easy either—it’s tough to decide!
We’re really excited but could definitely use your help with choices and optimizations!!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

We’ll be taking the flight from Nantes to Montreal and then from Montreal to Saint Pierre.

My 16-year-old son is flying to Grand Rapids with other kids his age. There’s a layover in Detroit. There’s no unaccompanied minor service available. Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

**Parking:**
We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?
Hi there. I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. For those who’ve done both Lower and Upper, can you tell me if the price difference is really justified? Thanks

As you can see, we're heading back from September 6th to the 27th.

Devil’s Kitchen and Boiling Spring Lake (Day 5)
I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

I’m planning a week in S.F. in April 2026 and I can’t figure out how to tell the cable cars—of which I understand there are three lines—apart from the trams, which I think number seven. I can’t find their individual numbers or routes anywhere.

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
