j arrive de new york il y a 2 jours c etais la 1° fois que j y allais voila ce que je pensse de t on programme
jour 1 :ok (a jfk prend l airtrain jusqu a sont terminal (5 $ pour 1 pers ou 7.50 $ pour 2 pers) puis le metro ligne E jusqu a" lexington av 53 rd " puis prend la" ligne 6 domwtons jusqu a 28 th st "et tu sera justa coter de ton hotel attention le billet de l airtrain n est pas valable pour le metro achete un autre billet "metrocard 7 day" qui coute 27 $ il est valable pendant 7 jours pour tous les transport en commun ainssi que le telepherique de roosvelt island.le taxi te coutera 55$ +5$ de pour boire.le temp de parcourt est d environ 1h15 airtrain +metro idem en taxi.
jour 2:matinee ok , par contre pour coney island c est fermee l hiver , et la plage est pouri et mal frequenter (j y suis aller pour les parc d attraction est tous etais fermer et il y fait tres froid et il faut 1 h de metro) on est repartie de suite
fait plutot le top of the rock en pleine nuit et l empire state en journee
jour 3:ok mais la balade en bateaux a cental park en avril oublie , en velo pousse pousse ca vaut entre 70 et 120 $ la ballade nous on a fait a pied c est super et moin chere.
jour 4:ok mais fait le top of the rock le soir plutot est surtout achete tes billet a l avance sur le net (viator . com) il sont moin chere 30 euro a la place de 42 $ sur place et en plus tu passera devant tous le monde idem pour l empire state achete tes billet sur le meme site 15 euro a la place de 25 $ car si il y a trop de monde il ferme la billeterie il y a des portique de securiter comme dans les aeroport est c est tres tres long
jour5:il faut savoir et c est tres important qu il faut que tu achete tes billet a l avance sur leur site "statuecruise.com" car sinon tu as de grande chance de ne pas pouvoir y aller .ensuite la montee a la couronne est fermer pour un temp non determiner ascensseur en panne.il faut y etre a 8 h le matin car ca ouvre a 8h30 mais il y a enormement de monde ensuite il faut passer les securiter idem que dans les aeroport est c est tres long il fouille tous. le temp de faire la statue et elis island tu repartira de batterie park vers 13 h .batterie park est tous petit ta fait le tour en 15 minute, caeste clinton en 5 minute , ground zero 15 minute on peut rien voir tous est barricader et le memorial n est pas construit, wallstreet 45 minute de visite suffise le toro est a wall street est non a boolinw green.
jour6:ok pas de soucis le matin tu peut tous faire a pied , roosvelt island avec le telepherique est super bien. mais rien avoir sur l ile fait aller et retour pour le plaisir ca suffit, le chrisler n est pas visitable , bryan park n a rien de bien, grand central superbe
jour7:matin ok , am ok , les 2 pont le meme soir bon courage il faut 1h 30 chacun
choisi en 1 ca iras (brooklig bridge) est le plus jolie a faire
jour8:alors nous avons fait le museum d histoire naturel un conseil va y c est sublimissime 16$ mais attention il ouvre a 10h30 est il faut toute la journe pour le visiter tu en ressortira vers 16 h donc compte pas faire grand chose apres car c est immense .
jour9:he oui c est le depart fait une ballade a wahsinton park mazis repart de manhantan maxi a 16 h car il faut reprendre le metro + l airtrain +enrtegistrement de tes baggage + passage au douane ca va tres vite
en resumer ton parcourt n est pas trop mal visite aussi la 125 st a arlem pour voir le theatre apollo et le cotton club , riverside et le lincon center, le porte avion intrepid.
n oublie pas que tous les prix affiche sont hors taxe sauf mc do et musee.qu il faut laisser un pour boire tous les matin sur l oreiller a l hotel ainssi qu au portier , au taxi et serveuse au resto etc ....
il fait tres froid a la statue et elis , on mange pour environ 7 $ par pers tres bien.
a time square va au toy r us c est genial et au magasin de bonbon mnm .
va a l empire en journee et au top of the roc la nuit , achete tous les billet a l avance un conseil

Tu as le temps c'est bien donc tu prends ta liste et tu coches au fur et à mesure ce que tu fais.
Ca tient jamais très longtemps un programme 😛 Déjà, je vois que tu prévois un truc tous les soirs ... tes pieds en compote en penseront autre chose à un moment 😏
Bizarre de vouloir faire le Musée de la Police ou celui des Pompiers et passer juste devant le MET 😕
Quant au Musée du Sexe, je doute que ce soit incontournable ! Y'a aussi de madames toutes nues sur les tableaux du MET ou MoMA et on voit les zizis des môssieurs sur les statues grecques 😎
Merci pour vos réponse, pour le rockefeller et l'empire on m'a conseillé de faire le rockefeller le matin car sinon on voi un gros carré noir à la place de central park et on m'a dit que l'empire SB étai jolie a faire en soirée avec les lumières des buildings autours.prkoi c'est mieux de faire l'inverse d'après toi.
Sinon vazyvite deja grand merci à ton site qui m'avait été très utile quand je suis allez dans l'ouest (6 semaines durant l'été 2008). On ne fait pas le MET car pas trop fan de musée et on en avait déja fait plein à San Francisco (si ce n'est tous les musée d San Francisco), on voulait faire celui de la police et des pompiers pour être dans l'ambiance de NY et celui du Sex on nous a dit que c'est marrant à faire. Mais du coup on va voir. Malgré cela nos journées vous sembles réalisables en sachant qu'elles sont interchangeable et que l'on adaptera en fonction de la météo.
Sinon pour les réservations des croisières et billets pour ESB, statue de la liberté on m'a conseillé de les prendre sur place en fonction également de le météo??

Exact c'est pour ça que t'as une liste et tu fais en fonction du temps et des envies.
Dès qu'il fait beau, tu cibles les croisières, balades etc ...
Regarder les prévisions 2 ou 3 jours avant et tu adaptes.
La Police et les pompiers c'est pas vraiment spécifique à NY ... mais bon s'il pleut 😎 Autant essayer de passer devant une vraie caserne de pompiers mais je sais pas où exactement.

En 5 jours on n'a pas fait tout ce que j'avais prévu, j'ai du faire l'impasse sur le Top of the Rock et l'ONU, mais on a fait d'autres trucs.
Sache que l'on marche effectivement beaucoup, que le metro dans le sens Up et Down font passer d'un secteur à l'autre rapidemment ( je n'ai pas vraiment su comment faire Est / Ouest en metro !!)
Là c'est le "Routard" complet que tu comptes faire!! ma femme et mes filles ont a un moment préféré faire un peu de shopping sur la 5éme ou a Soho !!! que de suivre le mien , et pourtant on était dehors de 9H00 à 22H00
Et en fevrier on a jamais fait la queue ( sauf à ESB ou on attendu au moins 2 heures)
Tous les guides te donnerons les dix incontournables et le reste est dans la rue la tête en l'air !!
On a vait aussi pris le pass, seul l'entrée au Guggenheim n'a pas été utilisé
ça te fait eviter la queue pour acheter les billets pas pour le reste (controle securité, vestaire...)
le téléphérique (tramway) fermera en mars pour travaux pour une durée de 6 mois environ. Vous pourrez cependant emprunter le métro pour aller à Roosevelt Island.
Top of the rock à faire de jour impérativement, sinon CP est vraiment un grand trou noir.
ESB c'est au choix, le jour et par temps clair on se repère aisément.De nuit vous pourrez contempler les lumières de Manhattan.
Coney Island c'est loin et le parc est en ruine!!!
la Promenade est sympa!! A Brooklyn, il y aussi beaucoup de visites à faire
le 10 avril, vous pouvez assister à la Tartan Parade, sur la 6e ave.
il me semble qu'il existe à NY la Parade de Pâques.
pensez à utiliser le métro pour économiser vos pieds.métrocard 7 jours à 27$
dommage pour le téléphérique. c'est la promenade de brooklyn ou de coney Island qui est sympa???

Votre programme est très bien... en 7 jours vous ne vous ennuierez pas et avez prévu des choses très sympa!
Après, comme on a pu vous le dire, la météo va vite chambouler vos plans !
Dommage dans votre programme :
- Prendre le Staten Island Ferry alors que vous verrez la statue sur place (autant prendre le circle line pour un tour de 2h autour de Manhattan)
- Parcourir le Manhattan Bridge puis le Brooklyn Bridge (le Brooklyn Bridge suffira au coucher de soleil en commencant du côté Brooklyn), vous marcherez déjà assez comme ca, croyez moi!
Pourquoi ne pas inclure...
- Un match de baseball des Mets (la première semaine de la saison, ca devrait être d'enfer! - http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/), vous semblez aimer le sport!
- Un tour en hélicoptère est certes cher, mais très sympa
- Un tour à la St John The Divine Cathedral dans Harlem
Je trouve qu'il manque une visite en haut du Rockfeller Center à votre programme 😉.
La vue est à mon sens bien plus belle que celle de l'Empire State Building et en plus il n'y a pas de grilles de protection aux étages inférieurs mais des vitres en plexiglas et à l'étage le plus haut il n'y à pas de protections du tout et c'est vraiment très très sympa 😉.
Next trip ( annulé à cause du volcan ) : Orlando et les Parcs Disney et Universal in April.

Coney Island, c'est le parc d'attractions. A côté vous avez l'Aquarium attenant à la plage et les promenades de planchers.j'étais par là un jour de pluie et c'était beau.
Sinon il faut consacrer qq jours à Brooklyn (beaucoup de sites sont fermés les lundis et mardis). parcourir le Pont la nuit dans le sens Brooklyn/Manhattan.
La Tartan Parade, C'est la Fête des Ecossais. Les familles remontent la 6e avec cornemuses et kilt...vous pouvez voir sur you tube.com, cela vous donnera une idée.
Je suis allée plusieurs fois à Ny en avril.et j'ai dans l'ensemble toujours eu du beau
temps, avec des journées à 26°. des pluies d'orages. J'ai eu très froid lors de la croisière nocturne.
A partir du vendredi soir, super ambiance à Union Square.
Ton programme est assez "sport" mais plutôt bien pensé, les réponses que tu as eu sont justes: Coney n'est pas super et le trajet (malgré que ce soit un métro aérien) est assez pénible… En ce qui concerne L'ESB pour moi il n'y à pas d'heure, je l'ai fait plusieurs fois et à peu prés à toutes les heures, si le temps s'y prête c'est toujours sublime!
Je te conseille, moi aussi, d'aller à brooklyn. Y a de super quartier (Williamsburg et ses magasin "Vintage", Prospect park, une petite balade à Brooklyn Heigths ou Dumbo pour voir la skyline avec le bridge en premier plan…).
Pour les musées j'aime beaucoup le Moma (il faut aimer l'art contemporain). Et si tu cherche des bars ou clubs sympa n'hésite pas à me contacter. Il y en à un à faire si possible c'est le "230 fifth" (un lounge sur la 5ème avec certainement le plus beau et grand roof top de la ville).

Pour Coney Island on voulait le faire car une personne de notre famille y est allé et nous a conseillé de l faire pour voir un e autre facette de ny et elle nous a dit ke c'était jolie la plage avec plusieurs personnes qui se baladait. si quelqu'un a des plan pour aller profiter d'un concert de jazz pas trop chers pour s'imprégner de l'ambiance jazzy de new york. Pour le coté sportif du planning c'est normal car je suis éducateur sportif :-)

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park

My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. As you can see, we're heading back from September 6th to the 27th.

I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
