Bonjour, je suis étudiant à la Réunion, et pour la suite de mon cursus je dois quitter l'île et poursuivre en Métropole.
Après recherche sur Internet, les établissements vers lesquels je vais me tourner se situent dans différentes villes, je souhaiterai avoir des conseils pour pouvoir faire mon choix...

Personnellement, je ne connais pas ces écoles, mais as-tu trouvé leurs sites Internet ? C'est en général un peu instructif sur l'ambiance et le sérieux...

Parfois, tu y trouves même des contacts d'associations d'(anciens) élèves, à qui tu pourras poser toutes tes questions, et qui seront les mieux à même de t'aider.
J'ai choisi l'école grenobloise, parce que j'ai fait mes études (5 ans !) dans cette agglomération. Je peux donc t'en dire quelques mots.
Grenoble est une ville étudiante, avec un beau et grand campus... mais de l'autre côté de la ville par rapport au Lycée Vinci. Ce qui n'est absolument pas grave : il y a plein de lycées et de grandes écoles au centre-ville de Grenoble aussi... bref, ça grouille d'étudiants !
Donc beaucoup d'effervescence, surtout le jeudi soir, soirées étudiantes obligent ! Beaucoup d'activités sportives aussi... les stations de ski à moins d'1h de car, avec plein de sorties organisées par les clubs sportifs étudiants...
Grenoble est une grande ville (parfois un peu polluée certes), mais tu l'auras compris, bien entourée de verdure : à chaque coin de rue, tu vois une montagne, enneigée en hiver. Il est très agréable d'y vivre, et en tant que ville étudiante, les tarifs sont raisonnables.
Pour le logement, tu peux voir notamment le Crous (crous-grenoble.fr), surtout si tu es boursier. Mais on s'arrache les places en citée universitaire... et ce n'est pas forcément le plus pratique par rapport au Lycée Vinci. Il faudrait peut-être préférer se loger du côté de VilleFontaine... et ça devrait te coûter moins cher que en centre-ville.
Et pas trop de problème pour se déplacer sur Grenoble : plusieurs tramways, et un bon réseau de bus.

Je vais te parler un peu de montpellier. Vivre sa vie d'étudiant à montpellier, c'est énorme. Je vis dans les environs depuis mon plus jeune âge et c'est une ville très sympa. Il y a de l'ambiance, du soleil, les plus jolies filles de france (eh oui!) et tu tombes amoureux 38 fois par jour... J'ai vécu dans le quartier des facs (lettres et sciences) et je réside actuellement dans le centre. Les points positifs et négatifs sont: la vie nocturne est beaucoup plus dense dans le centre, tu peux sortir facilement tous les soirs et il y a beaucoup d'animation. Le loyer en centre ville est cher (compte 350€ min pour un petit F1) mais les collocations sont monnaie courante. Dans les autres quartiers, les loyers seront un peu moins chers (sans être bon marché non plus). Le centre est entièrement piéton, ce qui est très agréable; problème si tu comptes avoir une caisse, c'est une grosse prise de tête pour le stationnement en journée car tous les endroits sont payants (sans compter les travaux incessants pour les diverses lignes de tram que tu as envie de dynamiter) .
Studio M à montpellier n'est pas dans le centre mais il n'y a aucun problème pour s'y rendre dans la journée avec le tramway et les bus. Quant à la réputation de studio M -du moins selon mes amis qui y sont allé- c'est naze au niveau ingé son, et pas énorme au niveau audio-visuel, mais par contre, c'est cher !!!!
Je te conseille vivement de faire tes études à montpel mais te décourage de t'inscrire à Studio M.
Sinon, j'ai entendu dire que Grenoble était quand même une ville pas mal pour y vivre, donc pourquoi pas...
P.S: même les conseillers d'orientation ont découragé plusieurs amis de s'inscrire à Studio M...
Devant la pénurie de logements étudiants dans la plupart des grandes villes, le plus tôt est le mieux. En fait, ne prévois surtout pas d'arriver la veille de ta rentrée pour trouver un logement !
Si tu veux un logement subventionné par le Crous, les dossiers sont à remettre très tôt dans l'année (comme les demandes de Bourses) : voir leurs sites, mais il me semble que c'est vers le mois d'avril...
Il faut savoir que bcp de logements se libèrent en juin, et dc que des étudiants cherchent déjà à cette période, pour profiter des meilleurs plans... mais cela te force à venir en métropole très tôt et à financer les loyers de juillet et août...
Svt, en septembre il ne reste plus grand chose (j'entends "plus grand chose de potable pas trop cher")...
Donc, une fois fixé sur ton école, ta destination, essaie de te renseigner auprès de l'école elle-même, des assoc. d'étudiants (on se refile facilement un plan appart d'une promo à l'autre), et même auprès des mairies des communes avoisinantes, qui souvent ont des listes de logements ou dans ts les cas, des adresses pour te renseigner...

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
