Hello soon-to-be retired travelers flying from Orly to Fort-de-France! We’re taking the transatlantic cruise on the Virtuosa, which departs from Fort-de-France on Saturday, April 5th and arrives in Le Havre on Sunday, April 20th. Are excursions possible without necessarily going through MSC for Guadeloupe, St. Martin, the Azores, and Lisbon? Has any forum traveler already done this cruise and have some tips and advice to share with us? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bruno,

We’re also doing this cruise departing from Fort-de-France, and we’ll be exploring the stops on our own. We’re flying from CDG with an Air France flight included in the cruise package.

Good evening Michel, Our AF flight is also offered by MSC but departing from Orly. We arrive in Fort-de-France on Saturday, April 5th at 12:55 PM. Check-in starts at 5:00 PM. We have friends in Martinique who will come see us before boarding. Have you already made contacts outside MSC for excursions? As for us, we’ve been on several cruises and usually organize our own excursions with local drivers based on the port stop schedules. You can usually find them just a few steps from the ship or at the port exit. Maybe we’ll see each other during this cruise—we’re on deck 10 in a balcony cabin. Have a good evening, Bruno.

Hi Bruno

For now, nothing very concrete for the excursions—we’ll see once we’re there if we haven’t found anything beforehand. We’ll be on deck 12 in a balcony cabin too, and we know this ship well since we’ve already taken a cruise on it. Looking forward to meeting you too.
