Mon mari va être muté en août à Accra...et je suis un petit peu anxieuse..car je ne connais pas du tout cet endroit, et j'ai très peu d'expérience de l'Afrique. Ce sera ma première expatriation hors de l'Europe (nous vivons en Suisse pour l'instant, je suis belge et lui français).
Pour ce qui est du logement et écoles, cela ne devrait pas poser de problème car l'employeur de mon mari va nous aider, nous avons commencé à contacter les écoles.
Par contre j'ai quelques questions basiques 😉
Peut-on prendre notre chat avec nous? J'ai entendu qu'il y avait beaucoup de serpents 🤪...y a-t-il de la nourriture pour chat ?
J'ai aussi un cheval et idéalement j'aurais voulu qu'il puisse venir avec nous (plus compliqué que le chat....). Y-a-t-il un club équestre "confortable" 😏 quelqu'un est-il déjà passé par ce type d'expérience (transport de cheval Europe-> Afrique).
Coté nourriture, qu'est ce qu'on ne trouve pas du tout par rappport à l'Europe, faut-il emporter certaines chose en particulier? J'ai lu que les connexion internet n'étaient pas bonnes, etc...
Je vais contacter et m'inscrire à Accra accueil aussi.

Accra est une ville moderne qui offre bien des possibilites et le Ghana un pays stable. Des amis anglo-saxon me disent souvent que c'est un bon pays pour Afrique niveau debutant - humour so british et tellement vrai en meme temps. De la Suisse au Ghana, c'est vraiment du depaysement!
Les personnes d'Accra accueil pourront vous renseigner ainsi que l'équivalent anglophone no worries.
En parcourant les discussions, si vous ne l'avez pas encore fait, vous pouvez aussi contacter des interlocuteurs ayant vecu cette situation expatriation recemment.
Concernant votre chat, a partir du moment ou il a les vaccins, il n'y a pas de difficultes majeures. Apres; effectivement entre les insectes et autres bebetes...La nature est tellement opulente ici ! Vous trouverez de la nourriture pour chats sans probleme dans les supermarches types games ou koala, ou l'on trouve a peu pres de tout, a des prix vertigineux quelques fois.
Pour votre cheval...je n'en ai aucune idee. Peut etre dans un 1 er temps, vous informer aupres du veterinaire pour savoir quelles peuvent etre les eventuelles consequences d'humidite et chaleur reunies sur l'organisme du cheval.

Concernant Accra tu me rassures, car à part le magrheb, je ne connais pour ainsi dire pas l'Afrique...je parcours les forum et autres sites, en effet, les echos sont très positifs!
Je vais contacter accra accueil également. Je suis belge d'origine, j'ai vécu qq année à Paris puis 2 ans à Lausanne et là....bientôt Accra, ce sera notre 1ère vraie expatriation!
Je ne suis jamais allée à lausanne accueil (et oui ça existe), car je ne voulais pas être formatée "expat"...en Europe c'est pas trop un problème, mais en afrique, je crois que ça m'aidera!
A chaque expatriation j'ai toujours retrouvé du travail...on verra pour cette fois-ci, par contre, je suis certaine que je pourrai me rendre utile!!!!

Il y a deux clubs équestre à Accra : l'un est chez les militaires à Burma Camp, les chevaux y étaient relativement bien entretenus, ma fille y montait et y a fait de chouette balade ! Avoir une vrai reprise comme en Europe : il faut pas rêver !
L'autre club est derriere Tetteh Quarshie : il y a 2 ans, un français essayait de le remonter. Il avait ses propres chevaux et faisait une vraie reprise !
Mes infos datent de deux ans et on sait qu'en Afrique ça bouge très vite !
Partez bien avec les papiers, l'identification de l'animal pour ne pas avoir de problème au retour .Faites attention à votre chat : ne le laissez pas trainer la nuit dehors ; les chats sont comestibles par certains . . . donc be careful avec votre animal, prévenez votre personnel au sujet de votre chat .
J'ai beaucoup aimé vivre à Accra, choisissez votre maison en fonction de l'école de vos enfants pour y être le plus prés possible : les embouteillages sont terribles !

Je rejoins ce qui vient d'être écrit par Tchaegreen au sujet des chats. Pour certains ghanéens, c'est un met de choix. Les chiens aussi. Ma petite expérience, j'ai nommé le gardien responsable personnel de mes toutous (qui se promènent librement dans le village) donc si un chien disparait, le gardien avec..C'est efficace !
Un autre moyen est de lui mettre un collier (c'est ce que pratiquent les ghanéens pour leurs poules, chevres et autres moutons et canards) ce qui signifie qu'il appartient à quelqu'un, cela réduit les risques.
Pour les produits dont vous pourriez avoir besoin et si vous etes consommatrice de yahourts, que l'on trouve à Accra, très chers, investir dans une yahourtière et importer des ferments lactiques peut s'avérer judicieux. L'association anglophone no worries édite un guide avec une foule de renseignements pratiques sur la vie ghanéenne et spécifiquement à Accra.
Vous pouvez trouver une librairie francophone, dans l'enceinte de l'alliance française.
je suis du Burkina Faso et j'aimerai passé un sejour maxi de 1 an au ghana pour apprendre l'anglais. j'aimerai avoir des informations sur les écoles, le logement aussi. j'ai entendu parlé de deux écoles à plusieurs reprise, si quelqu'un peut me renseigner la dessus : CELPS et GIL, et surtout le logement; il parait que le logement est assez chers au ghana.
j'ai déjà été au ghana mais c'etait juste pour visiter et j'ai pas eu l'idée de me renseigner pour les etudes pour plus tard. mais je confirme à tout ce qui projette d'y aller de ne pas hesiter, c'est un pays magnifique, j'ai beaucoup aimé mon séjour j'ai visiter plein de ville, il y'a beaucoup de chose à decouvrir, en tant qu'Européen ne vous engoissez pas, vous ne trouverez pas tout comme en Europe coté aliment mais vous trouverez le maximum.

j'ai juste besoin d'un petit renseignement s'il te plait, nous devons venir et nous installer à accra et j'aimerai savoir si un salaire de 8 000 USD suffise pour vivre, pour une famille de 2 enfants et 2 adultes, mais le loyer l'eau l'électricité et impots, la voiture le carburant etc ... sont payer par l"employeur, mais pas l'école française.

Si comme vous l'indiquez, vos principales charges (hormis l'école française) sont prises en charge par l'employeur et avec le revenu mensuel que vous annoncez, vous vous préparez à une vie plus que confortable financièrement, au Ghana.

Je suis basé avec ma femme, tous les 2 Français (dont moi à moitié Ghanéen), sur Cape Coast. C'est le coeur du tourisme au Ghana.
Si jamais tu voulais plein de bons plans, quelques conseils + introduction dans la communautée francophone sur Accra et ailleurs fais nous signe. Notre pote tiens le meilleur restau d'Accra (Le Tandem). C'est aussi très pratique pour rencontrer tout le monde 😉.
Nous gérons un Spa center avec 3 chambres en Bed & Breakfast, un lounge dans lequel manger de bonnes choses et la possibilité de se faire chouchouter. Tu verras lorsqu'on vit sur Accra cela fait du bien de décompresser 😕. Si jamais vous faisiez un saut sur Cape Coast, ce qui ne manquera pas d'arriver, nous serions heureux de vous accueillir.
