Hi there.

I’m heading to the US in September and stopping in Boston. I’ve got a baseball game booked for Sunday afternoon. Is Monday enough to soak up the highlights of the city, including Harvard?

Thanks for your tips!

Hi,

Visiting downtown takes a full day. If you also want to do Harvard, I’d add half a day.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for your reply. Can we do everything on foot? I’m a good walker.

Yes. You can do everything on foot, even though, if I remember correctly, we had to take the subway once or twice. Actually, you just need to follow the "Freedom Trail" and you’ll see the main sights. We only missed the USS Constitution, which is a bit off the beaten path, and it didn’t fit into our schedule. But for a good walker, it should be doable.

Hi there,

Our visit to Boston was back in May 2011....

We started the day with Beacon Hill, then the Freedom Trail (skipping the Capitol visit since it was closed) up to the USS Constitution. We took the ferry back to Long Wharf (about 10 minutes).

We had a meal at Quincy Market. Then we took public transport to Cambridge to visit Harvard University.
