Je suppose qu'il s'agit de 25 K£ par an soit environ 2 000 € par mois ? Je crains les frais de location d'un appartement de 2 chambres n'en prennent déjà la moitié, sans les charges. Si tu complètes par un demi-salaire, cela devrait aller.
Son travail est à Londres même? Quelle partie? A l'Ouest et au Sud les loyers sont vraiment très élevés. Qu'entends-tu par zone 2 ou 3? Celles du métro? Je connais bien le coin de Beckenham/Bromley qui doivent être en zone 4. Je suppose qu'on peut apprendre l'anglais aussi bien à Londres qu'ailleurs mais toutes les grandes villes de Grande-Bretagne offrent des facilités d'apprentissage, parfois des cours gratuits, pour des coûts de location beaucoup plus raisonnables. Et vous seriez mieux accueillis dans une ville de Province moins prisée par les étrangers. Mais sans doute toutes n'offrent-elles pas le même bassin d'emploi que Londres.
L'école privée, tout comme la médecine privée, n'est pas un must heureusement mais tout comme en France, il est important de choisir un quartier - et donc l'école qui va avec - dans un milieu dans lequel on a l'habitude d'évoluer. Cela facilite l'intégration de l'enfant qui aura déjà à affronter la barrière de la langue (pour 3 mois seulement, cela suffit à un enfant pour être bilingue) et des méthodes différentes. Quand je dis affronter, c'est un bien grand mot car en général ce sont des méthodes qui tiennent compte des individualités et qui mettent justement l'enfant plus à l'aise.
2000 £ pour une famille cé impossible à vivre à londres meme sauf aller en banlieu éloignée et en envoyant les enfants à l'ecole public.
Un appart avec 2 chambres correctement situé coute au minimum 1500£ et encore assez eloigné. La nourriture aussi ca coute chere et aussi pour le metro 😉

il y a la proche banlieue et la banlieue un peu plus lointaines. Cela depend de vos moyens financiers. Si le travail est en centre ville, l'abonnement de metro est tres chere meme comparé à paris. Juste pour rappel, le billet de metro en zone centre pour la journee (mieux pour un aller retour) est de 6£. Meme si il existe des cartes oyster moins chere pour des long periodes l'abonnement coute une ptite fortune.
L'ecole publique est totalement déconseillé si vous voulez que vos enfants puissent accéder à un minimum de savoir.
Pour un salaire de 25k je trouve cela tres difficile meme a paris a ce salaire cé pas evideent pour une famille deja.
J'en suis tout à fait consciente car en France on a 2 salaires; mon mari travaille à Monaco et on arrive à bien vivre sur la Côte d'Azûr. A Londres on doit tout recommencer à zéro et je doute qu'on aura une vie meilleure qu'en France.

Un ptit calcul basic, le cout de la vie a londres est de 50% plus chere qu'à paris.
Je ne suis pas la pour decourager mais de dire une realité que bcp de gens oublie. Le cout de la vie est tres chere à londres et surtout pour une famille il ne peut beneficier d'allocation et de prestations. Et les impots sont payés comme si vous etiez célibataire (il n y a pas d'abattements pour famille ou enfants).
En fait notre but c'est de maîtriser l'anglais et partir travailler un peu partout dans le monde.Pour l'instant on a eu 3 belles propositions tombées à l'eau car mon mari ne parle pas courament anglais. Londres est juste une étape intermédiaire mais pas forcément une destination finale.
J'ai habité qq temps à Londres, dans la zone 3 et la zone 4. Entre 20 et 35 minutes de transport au centre-ville avec le train de banlieue. Assez rapide quand même.
Il y a 6 zones de banlieues, la 1 est le centre-ville même, et la zone 6 est la partie la plus éloignée et la plus banlieue. Plus ton numéro de zone est petit, plus l'immobilier est cher (mais le coût du transport diminue).
Au moment où j'y étais allée, un pass de métro-train pour zone 4 me coûtait 60$ CAD...(40 euros) par semaine! 🤪
Londres est une ville excessivement cher, j'imagine que les opportunités de carrières sont intéressantes, mais pour vivre dans un endroit où il fait mauvais et humide quasi tout le temps, je n'irais pas m'y installer (j'ai horreur de la pluie et du froid).

On n'est pas forcément adepte du froid car on vit sur la Côte d'Azûr le but c'est de perfectionner l'anglais mais je pense qu'à ce prix là je prendrai un prof en France sous le soleil et à mon rythme.
N'exagérons rien! Mes filles ont été éduquées dans les écoles publiques anglaises, pendant 6 ans, en primaire, collège et/ou lycée, qu'elles ont alternées avec des écoles publiques françaises et sont toutes arrivées à Bac + 4 ou 5!! Elles ont donc acquis là-bas plus qu'un minimum de savoir... et les anglais qui réussissent ne sortent pas tous des écoles privées, loin de là.
Mais comme en France, il y a des écoles moins favorisées que d'autres.
Pour apprendre l'anglais, peut-être serait-il plus judicieux d'investir dans un stage en immersion. Si vous avez déjà de bonnes bases, ce sera sûrement plus profitable que de simplement travailler là-bas. Sans leçons, on ne progresse pas beaucoup.
Avez-vous pensé à l'Irlande? Je ne sais pas quelles sont les qualifications de votre mari mais il y a de nombreuses opportunités de travail et la vie est moins chère.

Les quartiers agreables sont en general les quartiers chers...tu peux trouver evidement a l exterieur zone 3/4 etc mais ensuite vient le probleme du transport!Evite le sud de londres...l ouest est pas mal mais encore "raisonnable".
Pour apprendre l anglais c est pas le pied car il y a enormement d etranger, et tout les languages finissent par se melanger.Si tu vas dans une ecole et suit des cours intensifs tu l amelioreras bien sure mais rien ne vaut la pratique!
Ensuite evite de mettre ton ou tes enfants dans des ecoles publiques, je travail dans l education et je peux te dire que c est la jungle!!
