je me permets de vous repondre même si je ne suis initiallement dans ce forum car j'ai vécu 7 mois a Edinburgh, d'octobre 2003 à juin 2004 donc je peux peut etre vous aider.
Tout d'abord, sachez que c'est tres facile de trouver un job sur place, dans les restos, les pubs, bars, cafés. Ils cherchent tous des kitchen porters: des plongeurs ou aides de cuisisne ou des waiters (serveurs). Allez voir du cote de Old Town, la vieille ville là ou il y a le Royal Mile qui est la rue qui joint le chateau ou palais de la reine. Vous verrez sur place. donc dans ce coin, il y a plein d'établissements qui placardent des affiches a leurs vitrines "Waited" !! Munissez vous d'un CV en anglais et d'un numéro de téléphone pour être contacté.
Pour les logements, c'est un peu plus difficile car tous les étudiants sont de retour et ils ont tout pris !!!
Non, je pense qu'il y a moyen de trouver. Pour ça, il y a les journaux, le Métro qui est gratuit, en libre service dans les bus, dans des kiosques en ville ou dans la gare. Sinon, des petites annonces que les gens placardent sur de grands tableaux dans certains cafés. allez voir a Elephant House, un café branché pour les étudiants sur George IV bridge, a coté de Royal Mile. Autre endroit : Blue Moon café, un bar gay à New Town, a coté de Leith Walk.
Don't Worry, y a moyen de trouver, mais c'est souvent de la colloc (4 ou 5 people) dans de grands lofts.

Je pars pour 5 mois, début février. Pour l'instant, je suis à la recherche d'un logement. J'ai trouvé le site www.gumtree.fr, avec plein de petites annonces (notamment des colocs), mais si vous avez d'autres pistes, n'hésitez pas !

Comme tu as pu le voir, il y a bien longtemps que j'ai quitte Edimbourg. Je suis actuellement a Calgary au Canada. Alors je ne me rappelle plus beaucoup de la ville !!!
Alors, comme je disais dans mon mail precedent, il y a du boulot sur Edimbourg. Je travaillais dans la restauration et c'est tres facile. Tu demarches les etablissements et tu laisses des CV. On est en Mars, les restaurateurs vont commencer a preparer leurs saison donc vont recruter.
Je travaillais au "Petit Paris Restaurant" sur le Grassmarket, au pied du chateau dans Old Town. Tu peux aller voir, peut etre cherchent ils du personnel.
Voila ce que je peux te dire,
N'abandonne pas, ce serait dommage. Surtout que l'ete va arriver et il y a le festival international culturel en juillet.

salut !si tu ve travailler en ecosse le boulot la bas sa ne manque pas, le plus facile c la restauration pour commencer;et pour ce loger le mieux c les pkistannais ils ont des chambres, des appartement a louer mais pour commencer c la colocation tu verra, il ya bocoup de francophone la bas sa ne manque pas bonne chance!

J'aurais bien voulu savoir comment tu fesais au niveau du logement, si tu connais des sites ou des endroits a aller voir sur edimbourg? La colocation ne me derange pas mais je ne sais pas trop ou m'orienter.
