Accommodation and Thailand Visa

Good evening, I booked a one-month stay in an Airbnb in Thailand. Is the booking confirmation enough for the 3-month single-entry tourist visa?

Hi there I don’t think you’ve quite got it yet!!!! A three-month single-entry tourist visa doesn’t exist. It’s either a 60-day tourist visa Or a 90-day non-immigrant visa. As for Airbnb, I’m not sure— If it’s a rental booked from France, I don’t think so.

In the photo, they clearly show a 3-month visa

The attachment must not have been sent. Sorry. On the official Thailand website, they state it's a 3-month visa, and that after 2 months, you should request a 1-month extension. I’m copying exactly what they say: But anyway, that’s not the issue. I wanted to know if, through Airbnb, an Airbnb reservation is enough for visas?

For the visa, as already mentioned, it's a 60-day visa extendable by 30 days (let's be precise). For Airbnb, from what I remember, it depends on the length of stay. In theory, renting for less than 30 days is prohibited. In practice, everyone does what they want—after all, it's the landlord who would be breaking the rules, not the tenant. Little extra tip: when you do your TM30, put the same address as the one on your visa.

Thanks for your reply! So the Airbnb owner isn’t required to give me a letter with a photocopy of their ID?

Honestly, I don’t know, and rather than telling you something silly, I’d advise you to ask the Thai embassy. Email address: visa.par@mfa.go.th

Thanks so much for the address. Have a great day

When you arrive in Thailand, immigration stamps your passport with the arrival date and the date by which you must leave. You have to leave before the two months are up. It’s not a visa—it’s a free entry permit. It’s planned for the duration to change from 2 months to 1 month, but it hasn’t happened yet. You can stay an extra month by going to an immigration office and paying 1,900 baht.

From France, you can also apply directly for a Non-O visa (short stay) for 3 months, but you have to go through the embassy in Paris, and the documents are in English. If you use an agency, it costs around 180 €.

Hi there, Once again, this isn’t a free two-month visa—it’s a **60-day visa exemption**!!!!!!

It's not recommended to comment without reading the last sentence. [:P] But hey, at least with that, we can be sure the guy really got it.

For a few years now, there's no need to go to Paris anymore. Everything is done online (e-visa).

I should’ve mentioned online agencies. At least you guys read the last sentence carefully

Hi everyone, my real question is whether the Airbnb host needs to provide an invitation letter for accommodation, considering I’ll be staying for a month. Some people told me no because it’s an Airbnb—what do you think? Thanks
EA Earthquake Veteran ·
No invitation letter is needed for Thailand. However, you’ll need the full address to fill out the TM6 form 3 days before departure. Select "Friend's house" on the TM6 as your accommodation type.

Hi there, The procedure for applying for a visa through the Thai embassy in Paris has nothing to do with what you wrote about your two months of free visa!!!! You must be part of those travelers who mix things up and confuse immigration formalities with customs procedures

For the past few months, whenever you search on Google and ask a question, the first answer is from Artificial Intelligence.

I’d suggest asking this question: *Do you need an invitation letter for accommodation when booking an Airbnb in Thailand?*
