Hi there, My questions might be repetitive, but I’d love to find a hotel close to a beach where we can swim without having to travel too far. The teens would stay at the beach while we go on excursions.

On booking sites, you select your destination of choice and you’ll find a number of hotels. For each hotel, there’s its location on a map of the area.
Toujours une fois. Au moins.

It depends where: along the Gulf of Thailand, most hotels are right on the beach. In Krabi, it's mainly around Ao Nang, but beachfront hotels are now booked up. In Phuket, you can choose accessible beaches—there are hotels right across from them... but be ready to spend, and for next February, it’ll be packed.

As for excursions: from Krabi or Phuket, it’s just the islands and their coral reefs... you want to do that without young people? Weird.

In the Gulf of Thailand, you’ll need a vehicle with a driver to visit all the sites, which are 20 to 70 km from the coast... and I don’t see why you’d deny your kids the fun—they’ll enjoy it just as much as you!

Hi Thanks for your reply I’ll check it out—it’s true there are lots of hotels near the beaches. After that, a quick tuk-tuk or taxi ride and you’re there. As for excursions, no, we’re doing them with the kids, but since they don’t like moving around every day, it’s just for the days when they don’t feel like it. We’d go out for day trips, and they can stay at the hotel pool or beach.

for the sites I told you about, these are regions that are very underdeveloped in terms of tourism, and the sites are sometimes 20 km from the coast, sometimes 70 km inland. So of course, no tuk-tuks (only in big cities) and very, very few taxis. It's better to plan on hiring a private van or taxi from Bangkok for a few days... but then, you'll see some amazing places, and the kids will have a lot of fun.
