1 phuket kata beach ; kata beach center hotel belle chambre limite un peut grande bon service mais 3000b possibilité d'avoir à 2000B une chambre un peut plus petite
vous etes au centre de kata belle sattion balnéaire
2 kao sok our jungle house ( chez body), trés belles maisons dans les arbres pour 1200b la nuit
3 krabi aonang ban gio guest house sympatique en plein centre à 2 pas du mc do pour 900 B la nuit ( ao nang°)
4 krabi kl house ( chez tan) belle guest house un peut moins grande que le ban ....., mais raisonnable négocier le prix et 700b la nuit ( ao nang°)
5 phi phi le pp princess beach resort ( je ne me souvient plus de l'hortographe) bruyant chambre 1500 sur ton sai la chambre est vraiement simple il y à mieux mais vous etes au coeur de la fete
6 lanta c'est mon préféré le lanta paradise beach resort 700B sans le dej mais bungalows au bord de la plage avec piscine (sur klon nin) génial les gens sont sympas il est possible de négocier un dej seul bémol loin du port mais qu'es ce qu'on est bien
7 Phuket kamala une guest house super sympa tenu par une famille géniale le ice beach chambre petit dej à 1350b conseillé en plus par le guide du routard et le lonely et par moi 😛 c'est de trés grande chambre avec terassevous pouvez cependant avoir des chambres à 1000b mais beaucoup moins grande et pas de balcon
voila nous y étions à 4, 2 adultes et 2 enfants 2 et 6 ans c'etait le top 😎😎😎😎

Tarifs oscillant entre 1500 et 2000 bahts en fonctionne de la saison et donc loin des 700 bahts que tu annonces...

je n'avais rien réservé sur lanta un rabatteur est venu me voir sur le bateau transfert de phiphi à lanta et il m'a dabord proposer la chambre 2 lits 1 grand et un petit pour 1000b je lui ai demandé si le px pouvait baissé il à proposé 900b à l'arrivée je suis partis visiter la chambre. j'ai aussitot dit d'accord elle m'a alors dit combien le rabatteur m'avait dit et la là j'ai dit 700b avec les petits dej
elle m'à alors dit que c'etait impossible j'ai insisté avec un grand sourire ensuite elle m'a dit qu'elle pouvait faire ce tarif mais sans le ptit dej

je pense que c'est pour moi l'une des meilleures étapes dans le sud avec ao nang
je pense aussi que ce resort se classe dans les meilleures prestations
pensez à négocier et etre véhiculé ou rester à l'hotel

J'ai également prévu d'aller à Lanta sans réservation (en mars prochain). Mais je me suis fixé sur le Bee Bee bungalow sur Khlong Kong ou encore le Lanta Coral beach sur Khlong Nin. Celui que tu vantes est-il en pleine végétation ou dans une zone "bétonnée" ? On ne voit pas bien sur tes photos... En fait, j'aimerais être dans un endroit un peu "nature"... En tout cas, c'est cool de voir que c'est largement négociable...
en fait je parle d'étape de voyage en général pas que du logement c'est vrai que lanta le logement était top.

en fait il y à 2 cotés l un proche de la plage voir photo et l'autre de l'autre coté de la route désolé je n'y est pas été.
si tu recherc he des choses plus nature j'ai été à kao sok our jungle house pour 1200bat la nuit tu verras des photos ci dessous😄😄 alors là pour la nature tu ne vas pas etre déssus des animaux de la végétation la jungle quoi 😎😎😎

pourrais tu me dire comment ça s'est passé avec ton enfant de 2 ans,
par exemple au niveau de la nourriture, si tu le faisais manger ds les restos comme toi...
autre chose concernant phi phi, tu as été au pp princess mais si on veut un peu plus de calme tout en restant proche de la fete, penses tu que l'andaman legacy soit bien?

je comprends que tu t’inquiète ma femme aussi était anxieuse
au début ma femme avait pris des petit pots de France ( lourd à porter). mais il à trés vite fait l"'impasse dessus quand il nous voyais manger les pads taie ou les fried rice.
en fait je suis revenu de taie avec plein de petits pot car hormis le premier repas ( petit pot) il à mangé la même chose que nous
pour le matin nous lui prenions des briques de lait au 7 éléven qu'il buvait à température ambiante.
aprés tu peux lui donner des compléments de fruits yaourts qu il va adoré.
nous avons beaucoup mangé dans les petits boui boui à ao nang ( krabi) et il a aussi trés bien mangé, je touche du bois il ne sont pas tombé malade car il y avait aussi son frére de 5 ans.
Tu vas voir c'est super tu vas adorer et en plus ton petit sera un roi la bas les taie adorent les enfants.
concernant cet hotel je n'arrive pas à savoir ou il est si tu à un plan, mais de toute façon la baie de tonsai est pas trés grande donc je pense d'un bou à l'autre y=tu en a max pour 15mn (sauf si tu te trouve à un autre endroit)
après sur phiphi dés que tu sorts du bateau c'est génial il y a plein de rabatteur qui te propose un tas d'hotel pour tout les budgets reste à savoir si il restera de la place
bon voila si tu à une question n'hésite pas mais les enfants ont adoré lanta.

il est vrai que sur lanta j'ai essayé de loué un side car trop marrant
sauf que le bien était cassé la direction était morte je le savait et cela aurait pu mal finir heureusement que je n'ai fait que 300 mètres attention donc à bien vérifier chez ton loueur
c'est vrai qu'à phuket le taxi ma couté un bras c'est vrai que je voulais louer une voiture automatique mais je ne me suis pas décidé et donc j'ai lissé mes plumes dans le taxi
par contre si tu peux louer des scoots vas y
cependant si tu loue quelque chose assure toi bien de l'assurance du véhicule prends à l'aéroport chez un grand loueur pour les voitures
désolé j'ai pas reçu le plan essaie mais tu réside sur quel plage à phiphi ???
enfin tu peux prendre le bus local c'est assez sympa il est long mais tu est avec des vrai taie😛😛😛 et tu te transporte à la local

Alors pour Phiphi, je serai à l'extrémité Est de Tonsai (apres c'est long Beach), ca devrait aller je pense, de toute façon je n'y reste que 2 nuits.
J'ai encore une question pour toi, comment se sont passés les voyages en bateau pour ton bébé? pas de mal de mer? Tu as pris speed boat? long tail? as tu fais des excursions a la journée genre phi phi Ley, ou les 4 iles au depart de lanta avec le bébé?

moi aussi je suis resté que 2 nuits l'excursion 4 Island est à ne pas louper Maya bay, Bambou, Monkey beatch...... c'est vraiment génial au même titre que 4 islands au départ de lanta et de ao nang. ne zap pas celle de lanta 😎😊😊
au début j'ai pris le long tail c'était bien mais le tout petit n'avait pas de gilet et ma femme avait un peu peur mais c'était super kool bonne ambiance et le long tail te dépose au bord de la plage.
quand on a pris le big boat c'est un peu l'usine de 40 à 80 personnes, on vas dire que c'est un peu plus réconfortant mais hélas ma femme à vomis durant tout le trajet.
il te dépose à 600 mètres de la plage donc t'es obligé de bien savoir nager ou d'attendre qu'il te prête un canoé car il n'y en a pas pour tout le monde.
le plus ennuyeux c'est que mon tout petit de 20 mois était coincé sur le bateau je n'ai pas souhaité l'amener sur la plage en canoé même avec un canoé et un gilet.
je ne sais pas ce que donne le speed boat mais j'aurai bien voulu l'essayer

Bonjour, les tarifs dépendent vraiment de la saison touristique et c'est du simple au triple voir plus sur les destinations les plus demandées. Mais hors saison vous pouvez vraiment négocier. Nous étions à Phuket en février dernier, nous avons choisi une petite station balnéaire tranquille, avec un hôtel standard et pour 20 jours, négocié la chambre à 20€ (en haute saison 60€ et moyenne 30€). Nous avons visité les îles alentours partant le matin avec notre scooter loué, pris les bateaux réguliers (traversé entre 5 et 15€ suivant la distance) et sur place aucun problème pour des chambres à prix mini. Mais c'est vraiment possible en basse ou moyenne saison. Cordialement. Laurence 🙂

De ce que jai pu voir phi phi est plus cher que le reste de la thailande. Pour ma part je vais payer 70e la nuit au phi phi andaman legacy. Renseigne toi sur les dispo du jj residence et phi phi palm tree. Ils sont bien et a des tarifs raisonnables. Malheureusement ils etaient plein a mes dates.

si mes souvenirs sont exacts j'avais payé 400 bath krabi phiphi attention les petits c'est gratuit je me suis fait un peu avoir j'ai payé pour mon petit.
ensuite pour faire phi phi lanta j'ai payé 250b par personne uniquement pour les adultes ( ce qui est drôle, c'est que je ne suis pas passé par une petite agence mais directement au port, un policier de la marine m'a emmener dans une pièce et à dit qu'il pouvait me fournir des billets . il m'a demandé combien m'avait dit les autres " j'ai dit 250 bath" il a été ensuite récupéré 2 billets chez le type qui découpait les billets des autres client et me les a vendu. je pense que ce n'est pas trés légal pour lui mais si cela m'arrange. les petits sont encore gratuit.

de lanta à phuket j'ai payé 700b mais les gens m'ont dit que cela baisserai à partir du 2 décembre ( c'est une dame à droite quand tu sors de l'embarcadère. attention à gauche là ou se trouve une femme enceinte ils ne sont pas très sympas . encore une fois les ptits c'est à l’œil.

Nous prévoyons de partir à Koh Lanta en famille. 2 adultes et 2 ados de 16 et 14 ans. Nous avons repéré le LANTA PARADISE BEACH RESORT, mais avons aussi vu des commentaires très positifs et très négatifs....il en faut pour tous les goûts.
Quel type de chambre avez-vous eue lors de votre séjour ? Familiale Beach Front ? Les familiales ont-elles 2 chambres séparées ou 2 King bed size ? L'hôtel propose-t-il des excursions sur les autres îles, ainsi que des sorties pour la plongée sous-marine ?😎

Nous avons séjourné 5 nuits au Paradise beach resort en chambre standard.
Chambre sobre, déco basique et une salle d'eau qui a un peu vécue.
Les chambres front beach semblaient plutôt pas mal du tout, mais pour les lits, je ne peux pas t'aider malheureusement!
Pour 1000B en haute saison (sans petit dej) cela nous convenait tout à fait.
L'hôtel propose les excursions classiques (4 îles, Ko rok, kayak, ...) pour la plongée, ça doit être possible.
La personne de l'accueil est assez cool.
Nous avons bien aimé Ko Rok et la Khao Maikaeo Cave à Lanta...
un petit + pour la piscine, la plage très calme et le resto sur le sable pour le barbecue du soir...:)

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. My trip’s coming up, and I’m having a bit of trouble with three bus/minivan routes. Usually, I find everything at this time of year, but this time—yikes!
Sandakan → Sepilok:
No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??

From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄).
Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM.
Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?

My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
