Hello! What a pleasure to be back on Voyage Forum! We’ll be in Venice from March 20th to 24th, and I’m looking (for two couples) for a hotel close to St. Mark’s Square—my husband can’t walk long distances. For four nights with breakfast, our budget is around 1,400 € per couple. To avoid too much walking for him, I’d also prefer a hotel where we could potentially eat dinner in the evenings. If anyone has any recommendations, thank you in advance to those who reply!

Hi there, I can't answer your question directly, but near St. Mark's Square, the nightly rate is likely to be very high.

Hi there,

I’ve got the perfect solution for you: a cruise in Venice on a river cruise ship (which can enter the Venetian lagoon just a few steps from St. Mark’s Square). Full board on the boat, so you’ll have a stunning view of the square, the chance to visit the other islands (Murano, etc.), and all while staying well within your budget.

It’s a little-known itinerary, but it’s really like a city trip with very little sailing time (since the islands are close to each other) and the ideal format for your husband who can’t walk much 😉 in short, the perfect compromise!

Don’t hesitate if you’d like more info ;)

Hi Jeanne,

Try the Hotel Bisanzio (Best Western) on Calle de la Pietà, just 2 minutes from the Bacino and the Vaporetto stops. Perfect location.

It’s 5 minutes from St. Mark’s Square.

Very well-rated and not too expensive for its location. They don’t offer dining, but it’s surrounded by great restaurants.
