J'ai reçu une bourse pour allez étudier 5 semaines ( mois de juillet ) à Bishop's University dans le cadre du Programme Explore offert par le Gouvernement provincial(quebec). La bourse paye le logement, l'éducation, les activités obligatoires et la nourriture. Je serai logé dans une résidence.
Or, nous n'avons pas de droit de sortir du campus durant les 5 semaines. Et J'avais que celà me tracasse un peu, je suis une fille qui a besoin de voir du monde...
Enfin, j'aimerais savoir si quelqu'un d'entre vous a déjà fait le programme Explore ou où déjà fait une immersion anglaise intensive de 5 semaines à Bishop's (Lennoxville).

Vous avez le droit de sortir du campus, mais il y a des restrictions
j'ai déjà bosser pour un programme explore (pour les 15 à 18 ans) et c pas mal les mêmes règles partout
vous avez le droit de sortir en dehors de vos heures de cours et des activités obligatoires

POurtant j'ai demandé à la dame qui s'occupe du programme et elle m'a dit que je n'avais pas le droit de sortir du campus pour rejoindre ma famille la fin de semaine, ou allé rejoindre du monde pour allé par exemple faire de la bicyclette une journée de fin de semaine par exemple..
Ca par exemple, effectivement tu ne peux t'absenter (genre dormir ailleurs ou même aller passer la fin de semaine chez quelqu'Un).
Pour les ados ca prenait un fax des parents ou un appel qui confirme qu'il on effectivement le droit de s'absenter pour la nuit.
Je trouve ca bizarre quand même, que tu ne puisse sortir du campus, surtout quand tu as du temps libre. De toutes facons t'auras des emplettes à faire genre de l'eau, de la bouffe et des trucs du genre donc tu sortiras du campus

Vu que les repas sont svt servis à des heures précises, si tu manques un repas tu ne manges pas. Donc apporte toi un peu de vaisselle pour pouvoir te faire des encas de tps en tps, ca part des simples céréales à des repas de spaghettis. Il y en a qui se faisait aussi des crêpes, du pain doré et j'en passe

Je suis étudiante à Bishop's, mais pour une année entière pas du tout dans ton programme. Je suppose que tu vas être logée sur une des résidences du campus, et dans ce cas tu auras accés à la cafét' de la fac (ouvert de 7h30 à 22h30 en non stop). Sinon sur le campus, tu as un Tim Horton, doolittle (mini dépanneur), un bureau de poste, un gymnase avec à peu prés tous les sports, une piscine, une patinoire, un golf, le bookstore (ou tu peux t'acheter plein de fringues à l'effigie de l'université), et bien sur plein d'étudiants! Il y en a surement moins que pendant l'année, mais il y a quand même pas mal d'étudiants qui prennent des cours au semestre d'été. Tu ne seras pas seule dont' worry!
Aprés pour ce qui est de t'empêcher de sortir du campus...je vois mal comment ils peuvent faire ca...à moins de te mettre un bracelet électronique?? Je comprends qu'il ne veuille pas que tu ailles à Sherbrooke. qui est une ville francophone, histoire de jouer le jeu de l'immersion à fond, mais sur Lennoxville tout le monde est anglophone.
J'espère t'avoir aidé un peu! En tout cas je peux te dire que le campus en lui-même est magnifique! Je me suis régalée cette année. Et puis il ya plein d'animaux (genre squirrels, skunks, does, racoons).

Pour ce qui est des résidence, et oui j'y serai logé, mais je ne sais pas encore dans laquelle en particuliée. Tout ce que je sais, c'ets que je serai en chambre double avec quelqu'un d'autre du même programme que moi. Pour la cafétéria, c'est automatiquement relier à notre résident? J, entend par là, que considérant que nous sommes en résidence, nous avosn droit d'allé y mangé gratuitement à n'importe quel heure ? un nombre illimité?
Et les animaux, ils sont dans une animalerie ou quoi ? 🤪 On peut en avoir un dans notre résidence ? ce serais torp génial 😉
Chambre double ca peut vouloir dire deux choses, ou tu es à McKinnon ou Pollack, où vous êtes deux dans la même chambre, ou alors tu es Kiener, Munster ou Abbott, et dans ce cas ça veut dire que vous aurez deux chambres séparées par une salle de bain. (le nom des résidences ne doivent rien te dire pour l'instant mais ca viendra vite tu verras😉)
Pour la cafét' si c'est comme dans l'année scolaire, quand tu paies ton loyer tu es aussi obligé de prendre un "meal plan", qui te donne accés à la cafét'. Une fois que tu as ta carte tu vas à Dewies autant que tu veux, quand tu veux, et tu manges à volonté.
Et pour les animaux, non non c'est sur le campus. Surtout la nuit pour les biches. En résidence tu n'as le droit qu'à des poissons (et encore la taille de l'aquarium ne doit pas dépasser certaines mesures!).
Pour les chambres, je ne sais pas encore dans quel rédisence je serai logé, la seul information que j'ai à ce sujet est la suivante : "Les résidences sont sur le campus à quelques pas des locaux de cours d’anglais langue seconde. Pour ceux qui obtiennent des bourses d’études en anglais langue seconde, les chambres sont partagées avec un autre étudiant. "
Et les animaux sur le campus.. ils sont en liberté et ils se promène partout ?!J'suis aps sur de comprendre
Ben c'est des animaux sauvages, mais comme le campus est à côté de la forêt, ben ils viennent faire un tour de temps en temps, ce qui est plutôt cool je trouve^^
Bon, Je suis revenu il y a même pas 2 semaines encore, et je m'ennuie encore de Bishop's. Sérieusement, si quelqu'un hésite pour y allez, je vous le dit, gênez-vous pas, c'est une très belle expérience! Les gens sotn sympathique, on a plein d'activité! L'horaire est très charger!
Mais bon, les points négatifs sont les suivant pour bishop's:
- Interdiction de prendre notre véhicule sauf sous autorisation spécial
- Le monde parle français dans la ville
- Le nombre d'activité est restrain, car nous somme confiné au campus et à un bout de Lennoxville...
Mais pour el reste, j'ai vraiment apprécier, les cours, les workshops et tout sont vraiment utiles.
