je me permets de faire appel a vos bons conseils car je suis actuellement en Asie avant de me rendre en inde cet ete pour faire un trip en moto au Ladakh. Suite a ca, l'idee de rentrer en France en octobre sur une bonne vieille Royal Enfield me taraude l'esprit.
Je sais que ca se fait, et il y a deja de nombreux messages sur le sujet, mais je trouve pas toutes les infos. Pour commencer, il me faut un visa pour le pakistan. Savez vous si il est difficile d'en obtenir un? je me rendrais demain a l'ambassade du Pakistan de Bangkok.
J'ai aussi lu une histoire de carnet de douane, mais qui ne serait plus delivre depuis un an par les indiens. Savez vous comment faire pour s'en procurer un? Ou bien est ce possible de voyager sans? Bien que cela semble etre complique. J'ai aussi pu lire que ce carnet pouvait etre delivre au nepal?
Pensez vous que contacter differents automobiles club (france, pakistan...) puisse m'aider dans mon projet, et si oui a quel titre?
ou alors, si cela est vraiment trop complique pour le visa pour le pakistan, je pensais eventuellement a un retour de l'inde jusqu'a Oman par bateau. mais la encore, je ne trouve pas toutes les informations, les prix... si quelqu'un en savait plus, je serai vivement interesse.
Je crois avoir fait le tour de mes interrogations, mais si toutefois quelqu'un a d'autres infos auxquelles je n'aurais pas pense, je suis preneur.
C'est un très beau projet que tu entreprends là, le voyage Delhi Paris et une réelle aventure. J'ai discuté récemment avec une française niçoise qui a effectué le même voyage. Tu trouveras un article ici ou elle récapitule cette balade si je puis dire. En tout cas je suis certain que si tu lui envois un message via facebook elle te répondra sans aucun doute !
Sinon je suis actuellement en Inde, basé à New Delhi, et de ce que je sais trouver une Royal Enfield est facile, en acquérir une c'est une autre histoire ! Soit tu l'achètes neuves (il me semble 1 lakh = 100.000rs) soit tu la rachètes à un particulier et il faudra s'occuper de tout l'aspect administratif (papiers du véhicule etc...), tache peut parfois s'avérer très laborieuse. Néanmoins je connais des garages qui s'occupe de tout pour à des prix vraiment abordables. Enfin à Delhi, l'endroit où trouver une Royal Enfield est sans aucun doute Karol Bagh "le quartier des mécanos" mais si tu achètes là-bas soit très vigilant quant à l'état de la moto car tu peux avoir de mauvaises surprises une fois sur la route !
En ce qui concerne le carnet de douane, on appelle ça un carnet de passage maintenant, et concrètement c'est impossible de voyager sans. Je veux dire par là que toi, tu pourras passer les frontières mais ta moto non... Donc pour le voyage moto ça serait un peu râpé.
Pour en obtenir un en Inde il faut que tu rentres en contact avec l'Automobile Club Bombay, ils te renseigneront davantage que moi. Je sais également que tu devras faire un dépôt de garanti dans une banque.
Si tu as d'autres questions n'hésite pas, je connais des personnes qui ont voyagé en moto à travers de nombreux pays je pourrais toujours me renseigner auprès d'eux ;)

Si tu passes par le Pakistan-Iran, attention à la zone frontière, le Baloutchistan. Elle est en partie contrôlée par des groupes armés (islamistes ou mafieux) et sa traversée seul est fortement déconseillée. Il y a eu des enlèvements de touristes récemment. Tu dois en principe te joindre à une caravane escortée par l'armée.
Mais apparemment, c'est la seule zone chaude de l'itinéraire.

pour ce qui est de l'acquisition de la moto, j'hesite effectivement entre une neuve et une occasion. notamment une de plus de 25 ans, car si je rentre avec en france elle sera consideree comme vehicule de collection et auquel cas je n'aurais aucun probleme pour la faire assurer.
de plus, comme avant de rentrer en france, je prevois de faire la route du Ladakh, ce sera une bonne occasion pour tester la moto.
Sinon pour information, je me suis rendu comme prevu a l'ambassade du pakistan de bkk, et la bas il n'est pas possible d'obtenir un visa. cependant, le type m'a dit qu'il me serait possible d'en obtenir un a l'ambassade du pakistan de pekin (et comme j'avais prevu de m'y rendre, ca tombe bien). donc en esperant qu'il ne se soit pas trompe, mais je vous tiendrais au courant des que j'en saurais plus.
Apparemment, il y a Lalit Singh à Delhi qui vend (et loue) des Entfield et semble avoir une bonne réputation, du moins sur les forums.

Merci egalement pour ton tuyau Karpat, car je vois sur ta photo qu'il fait aussi des vieilles machines, ce qui m'interesse grandement. En effet, je me retrouve face a un autre probleme. j'ai pu lire sur le net qu'il etait desormais quasiment impossible de faire homologuer sa enfiled une fois rentrer en France. Du coup, je voulais savoir si c'etait vraiment vrai (peut etre est ce un 'coup' de enfield France pour dissuader les types comme moi, car quand on sait qu'une enfiled vaut environ 1000 euros en Inde et un peu plus de 5000 en France...), ou alors si quelqu'un l'avait fait recemment?
Ou alors il me resterait toujours la solution d'une enfield de plus de 25 ans pour la faire immatriculer en vehicule de collection. Et encore, cela est il toujours possible?
Du coup, je fais encore appelle a vos conseils, ou a vos connaissances, pour savoir si il est possible de faire assurer une enfield d'inde une fois rentrer en France.

Oui impossible de faire immatriculer une RE neuve en France officiellement pour des raisons de normes, mais possibilités de le faire et en CG collection pour des motos de + de 25 ans. Là il s'agit d'un voyage vers la France mais pour l'achat d'une RE puis envoi vers la France Lalit Singh le déconseille et dit qu'il est moins compliqué d'en acheter une en France ... mai peut vous aiguiller vers des marchands qui le font sans problème.
Ton voyage m'intéresse beaucoup. Je suis Également en train d'envisager un trip d'Inde en Europe, en Belgique plus particulièrement. Figure toi que je voudrais faire ça avec mon père.. Il a dans les 60 ans et voudrait partager cette aventure avec moi.
Pourrais-tu me dire ou tu en es en ce moment? Es tu parti? Et au niveau de ton itinéraire, pour quelle option as tu opte?

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

Why not explore the Peloponnese!
I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.
Could you share your experiences or advice?

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

We’ve rented two Royal Enfield 450s.
This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)
Day 3: Telouet - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne (200 km - 3h30) (+ Vallée des Roses maybe)
Day 4: Boumalne - Dades Gorges - Agoudal - Todra Gorges - Tinghir - Goulmima (291 km - 6h)
Day 5: Goulmima - Midelt - Cirque Jaffar - Agoudim (280 km - 4h45)
Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
Day 9: Ouzoud - Marrakech (160 km - 2h43)
