Bonjour à toutes et tous: nous rentrons de Naples, c'est une ville extraordinaire, il faut y aller, et voici les dernières infos: pour y aller, easyjets de Bâle pour ma part marche bien. Plus vous vous y prenez à l'avance, mois c'est cher. Les vols sont ponctuels et arrivent même à l'avance à Naples. entre l'aéroport et le centre ville, 20 min max de navette, 3€. on vous conseille cet hôtel: Hotel Europeo, Via Mezzocannone 109/c, 80134 Naples. C'est un 1 Etoile, mais super bien situé en plein centre historique, pas cher, propre, calme, donnant sur une cour intérieure, on entend les bruits des mouettes :)) au loin. L'accueil est sympa et ils parlent suffisamment bien le français. Il est situé au 4ème étage, avec petit acsenceur payant 0.10 €. Mais vous n'êtes pas obligés de payer 10 centimes (comme vous pouvez le lire dans certains guides et forums), vous prenez les escaliers, ça fait du sport gratos.... Les chambres ont un coffre-fort. A condition de ne pas tenter le diable, vous êtes en sécurité dans Naples. Vous portez votre argent dans une pochette intérieure, vous laissez vos papiers importants à l'hôtel, vous vous fringuez simplement et pas de problèmes. C'est un ville authentique, vivante, animée, contrastée et haute en couleurs. Les ruelles sont étroites, linge tendu de part et d'autre, Italiens déboulant en Vespa, circulation apocalyptique, bref, l'Italie. Mais Naples, ....c'est Naples. Ca paraît évident pour certains, mais on n'est pas en Suisse, il y a des papiers qui traînent de partout. Pompei est à 40 min de leur RER qui est le Circumvesuviane (transports compris dans l'Artecard). Attention beaucoup de maisons sont fermées (80%). Prenez l'audioguide, super pratique et pas cher. Visitez aussi Herculanum, plus petite que Pompei mais mieux conservée, à ne pas rater. le même jour qu'Herculanum faites le Vésuve. Pour le Vésuve, départ des bus d'Herculanum. Compter 16€ par personne. Départ des bus pour le Vésuve en sortant à gauche de la gare d'Herculanum. Superbe vue sur la baie de naples. Capri ça vaut le coup. 30€ en bateau A/R, trajet de 50 min. La place du village lui-même c'est bondé comme St Tropez. En arrivant au port, montez au village par les escaliers, c'est sympa, et ça évite le funiculaire où attendent 250 000 touristes en bob. Fuyez le village et allez voir les jardins d'Auguste, superbe vue. Attention la via Krupp est fermée pour travaux. Allez voir l'Arc Naturale, magnifique. Allez vers la villa Jovis. Ballade dans les terrasses culivées de citrons. Juste avant la villa à droite, magnifique parc (municipal) en terrasses avev vues panoramiques. Ne visitez pas la villa Jovis, payante, et le panorama n'est pas mieux. Allez à Anacapri, et visitez la villa Axel Thunde, magnifiques jardins. Prenez la Campania Artecard Tutte Sites 3 jours. Les entrées des sites majeurs et musées sont comprises ainsi que les transports et Circulvesiuviane. MAIS il n'y en a plus en vente dans Naples, il faut donc la commander sur le Net. Cette carte est tout de suite rentabilisés (musées + transports). Quand on voulait l'acheter ils étaient en rupture, donc on était obligés de prendre celle d'une semaine, moins rentable. Donc commandez-la à l'avence sur le Net. Voili voilou, si vous avez des questions, je vous répondrai avec plaisir.. Bon voyage

Je serai à Naples du 19 au 28 mai.As-tu des bons plans pour visiter cette ville et les environs?Je pense faire 3 jours à Naples, 1 jour à Capri, .1 jour Pompéi, 1 jour Herculanum et le Vésuve, 1 jour amalfi, pour le reste on verra sur place et l'état de fatigue, à moins que tu ne propose quelque chose d'intéressant à faire ou à visiter.Comment se déplacer à Naples? Sans parler des environs où effectivement il y a aussi beaucoup à voir, dans la ville même il ne faut pas rater le très beau musée CAPODIMONTE ancien palais avec des jardins qui dominent la baie une des plus belles vues de la ville et qui ne se contente pas de montrer de la belle peinture mais aussi quantité d'objets précieux et surtout la chartreuse de San Martino avec son cloître elle sert aussi de musée, à voir également le cloître de Santa Chiara décoré de majoliques jaunes et bleues du plus bel effet, il faut repérer les GUGLIA ces flêches sculptées (guglia di san domenico, dellimmacolata, san gennaro etc...), la chapelle Sansevera et ses incroyables sculptures saisissantes de réalisme et enfin si vous avez encore du temps l'église San Giovanni a Carbonara avec un tombeau et des fresques du XVes. L'Office de tourisme est un des rares en Italie à donner des prospectus en français et des cartes de la ville gratuites. Si vous aimez les jardins il faut voir le jardin botanique de Naples un des plus importants d'Italie.

je te remercie pour ces précisions et ces divers lieux à visiter.Je sais que Naples est une très belle ville et c'est pourquoi je désire en voir le plus possible.C'est pour cela, que je passerai 6 jours pour visiter Naples et les 4 suivants, pour les environs.Mon planing serait:3jours intensifs à Naples, un jour à Capri (avec repos dans le bâteau), 1 jour à Pompéi, 1 jour pour Herculanum et le Vésuve, ensuite visiter Amalfi (aller en bus et retour en bâteau), le reste du temps, complèter la visite de Naples .J'espère que ce planing est réaliste et réalisable?Si vous aviez d'autres précisions à donner, n'hésitez pas je suis toujours preneur.Encore merci

Ton programme est super, 3 jours pour la ville même sont suffisants.
Pour se déplacer dans Naples, c'est super facile, tu fais tout à pied, ce n'est pas très grand et tu peux appréhender l'âme de la ville. Il y a des bus mais les lignes sont super compliquées, et un métro qui peut dépanner. Emmène un bonne paire de baskets, c'est le mieux. Ne pas hésiter à prendre le funiculaire pour aller sur les hauteurs, aller au Castel Sant'Elmo et de là-haut une vue imprenable sur la ville, la baie et le Vésuve, à faire.
Ne pas manquer le Musée Archéologique, où tu as les originaux des mosaïques et des statues que tu vois à Pompei et Herculanum.
Bien sûr voir le musée de Capodimonte, mais attention il est fermé le Mardi, on s'est fait avoir. Pense à vérifier avant d'y aller car c'est un peu excentré.
Et l'incontournable Pizzeria Sorbillo, "where pizza is born", Via Tribunali. Il y a des gens qui attendent jusque dans la rue, mais tu donnes ton nom, et il y a max 20 min d'attente, ça permet de faire un tour. Ces pizzas sont inoubliables.
Pour Capri: il vaut mieux prendre la compagnie nationale Caremar beaucoup moins chère: la Caremar, mais moins de bateaux. Dans les 5-6 € seulement.

Attention comme tu le vois sur ce lien, le matin le départ est à 7h35 ! !Mais il vaut mieux partir à cette heure pour pouvoir passer le plus de temps sur capri. Sinon il faut prendre d'autres compagnies qui sont à 15 € l'aller simple !

Grand merci pour ces renseignements, j'ai regardé sur le site de Caremar et c'est exactement ce qui me convient:partir tôt mais pouvoir se reposer sur le bateau pendant un peu plus d'une heure.Quad à la pizzéria Sorbillo, même si je savais que c'était à Naples que l'on avait inventé la pizza, je ne connaissais pas l'endroit, donc on ne va pas s'en priver.Capodimonte est évidemment dans mes projets (il y en a beaucoup) mais si par hasard j'avais trop de temps, j'envisagerais d'aller jusque Caserta visiter le château.Encore merci et si tu avais encore d'autres petits trucs, cela pourrait toujours servir

Bonjour à tous les amoureux de Naples présents passés et à venir.

On parle de Caserte s'il vous reste du temps. Cette demeure qui veut imiter Versailles et dont l'intérieur est très somptueusement décoré avec meubles et tableaux d'époque possède des jardins à l'italienne bosquets, ombrages, avec un long canal central parsemé de très beaux ensembles de fontaines baroques et de cascades, c'est un vrai plaisir de déambuler dans ce parcours de 3 kms et de découvrir au hasard des statues provenant de Pompéi et des ruines artificielles à la mode à l'époque. Mais aussi Caserta Vecchia, le petit bourg voisin que je n'ai pas pu voir mais qui possède je crois une très belle cathédrale.
Bien sûr il y a tant à faire quand on met les pieds en Italie qu'on passe toujours à côté de quelque chose de beau et tant mieux il faut y revenir ...

Oui en effet, bouchon78800; je pense me poser dans un hôtel pour quelques jours, le temps de trouver sur place un hébergement meilleur marché. Je n'aime pas m'engager à distance sur un hébergement de longue durée.

Nous revenons de naples et tout s'est très bien passé. On a loué un appart par le site homelidays pour la semaine. C'était parfait, l'appart était très spacieux avec un balcon qui donnait sur le vésuve, le port et la chartreuse de San Martino sur le côté.
On était dans un quartier populaire et commerçant avec un marché quotidien dans le centre de napoli au pied de vomero et juste au dessus du quartier espagnol. L'appartement est vraiment une bonne option pour cette ville, on a pu se faire à manger de temps en temps. C'est bien agréable quand on rentre de Pompéi après avoir marcher toute la journée sous le soleil napolitain.
Question restau, on a particulièrement apprécié une tratoria qui se trouve via tribunali et s'appelle quelque chose comme "la campania". En fait dans le lonely planet il y a une tratoria qui s'appelle chez "carmine", on y est allé aussi d'ailleurs et c'était pas extra, en face de carmine il y a une pizzeria, en continuant la rue vers "sorbillo" on passe devant la tratoria "campania". On doit en général faire la queue pour y manger. On voit les cuisines derrière une vitre dans la salle du fond. Ce n'est ouvert que le midi (on y a mangé une fois à 13 h et une autre fois vers 15h30), pas le soir. Mais c'était vraiment une bonne adresse, il y a des plats du jour.
Rien que vous lire me donne envie de partir se suite. Je vais partir en Italie au moi d'août avec ma famille et des amis en faisant un périple de trois semaines à Rome, Naples, Pise, Milan, Florence. Et j'aimerais quelques renseignements sur cette fameuse carte : est-ce qu'elle donne accès à tous les sites archéologiques et les musées ou donne-t-elle seulement l'entrée gratuite à deux visites (musée ou site) et ensuite 50% de remise sur les entrées des autres visites ? Je n'ai pas très bien compris leur explication.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
We’re a group of 4 heading out at the end of June for 11 days.

Can you share your experiences about Bilbao with us? We're planning to go during the last week of April, with our main goal being to visit the Guggenheim Museum. Despite our research, we're not sure if a week is too long or what there really is to see and do in Bilbao. Should we rent a car to explore the surrounding areas? For San Sebastián, it seems there are pretty convenient buses. Would a day trip there and back be doable?
Any advice would be welcome regarding the itinerary, local transportation, hotels, and how long to stay.
