Je sèche un peu enpréparant notre voyage bali flores du 26 juillet au 17 aout
J avais dans l'idée de partir pour flores apres deux jours de repos ou quatre selon les dates de vols pour ende , les tarifs et les dispo , sutout si nous ne réservons pas ;et puis il faut prendre le temps d'aller dans une banque .
Donc je pensais arriver : Ende , voir les plages aux alentours si nous pouvons trouver une petite moto à louer, puis moni, y dormir?,
Puis bajawa en bus ou partage de vehicule , deux ou trois jours pour se balader sur le meme principe .
retour à ende et avion vers labuangbajo , pour environ trois jours logement? et tour vers ringa ? ou bien retour en bateau style kenkana , à decider au ernier moment
qu e'n pensez vous?
Est il necessaire de réserver les vols? l
'aller vers flores le1 aout si vers ende, et dans ces cas là ou aller à bali en attendant munduk?, jalituwih?ubud
l itineraire parait il faisable en9 jours environ?
est il plus facile d'arriver par labuang bajo puis avion vers ende et meme programme?
Pour le logement, la moto avez vous de bonnes adresses récentes?
Nous n 'avons pas le budget pour un vehicule et guide, pourtant j aurais bien aimé comprendre et prendre un peu de temps aupres des gens.

Je suis allé sur Florès en août dernier. J'avais un vol Denpasar-Labuanbajo avec LionAir je crois. Il me semble qu'à cette époque de l'année, il est plus prudent de réserver, d'autant plus que c'est faisable sur le Net.
Quant aux hébergements, pas la peine de réserver, mais rechercher une chambre dès l'arrivée. A Labuanbajo, il y a pas mal d'hôtels corrects. J'ai passé quelques nuits au Blessing, situé à l'extrémité de la rue principale, propre, bon accueil, petit-dej inclus, autour de 15€.
A Bajawa, il y a un gros hôtel (je ne me souviens plus du nom, mais sa grosse silhouette verte est immanquable) très agréable.
Pour Rinca (et Komodo), il y a à labuanbajo une myriade d'agences de voyage qui proposent des excursions d'une journée. Ca peut être suffisant mais c'est plus sympa de partir pour deux jours avec nuit sur le bateau car on a le temps de visiter les deux îles et de faire sur chacune la "grande excursion" (rien de terrible, au contraire, juste 2 heures sur un terrain plutôt plat).

oui tes questions sont un peu confuses... excuses moi!!
neamoins, voici quelques indications basées sur ma propre expérience.
Je suis arrivé en bateau à Labuang bajo LB (croisiere de la perama depuis lombok, avec escale à Komodo) .
Je ne crois pas que arriver à Ende soit le mieux .. Une possibilité est d arriver à LB (komodo, plongées etc...), puis de gagner Bajawa en bus (il faut deux jours avec arret à Ruteng, ou bien en une fois mais c'est 10H!!) A bajawa, on trouve facilement un guide pour visiter les villages Ngadas alentours ( voiture et marche a pieds). Compte 2J , 3 nuits à Bajawa. De là gagner Moni pour une nuit. Le matin tot, faire le Kelimutu ( à 10H max tu es redescendu) et tu peux prolonger vers Maumere ( ou encore Ende) pour un retour avion vers Bali.
J'ignore s'il y des vols entre LB et Ende
tout excusée, je ne devais pas avoir l'oeil clair! et il est vrai que j ai bcp de questions..
en fait je reviens vers vous tous pour une question de fond: nous avons 22jours , en aout..
est ce que flores vaut le coup? le temps , l'argent
C est une question que me posait mon chéri, notamment apres avoir vu une émission ou on voit les plages de labu.B envahie par les ordures et lu les post insistant sur le temps necessaire, les gens "font payer le touriste", les logements plus chers etc .
Et le fait de réserver, plus prudent nous obligera à plus de rigidité
Je ne voudrais pas passer à coté de bali ni à coté de flores presque uniquement dans les transports ..

avec 22J devant soit, ce serait dommage d'aller dans des lieux reculés (Flores), et de stresser pour etre à l'heure pour le vol de retour.
pour un premier voyage en Indonesie (moi j'y ai passé 2fois 6 semaines et compte y retourner), je suggere de rester à bali et eventuellement une incursion de 2/3J sur java (vers le Kawa ijen par ex) ou bien Bali plus 3/4J sur Lombok (gilis ? ou autre)
a moins d'un vol interieur A/R vers labuang bajo pour passer 3J dans le parc national de Komodo(plongées et dragons sur l'île de Komodo ou rinca)

Je suis allée à Florès 12 jours en août 2011 avec des amis, avec guide et chauffeur.
Nous avons beaucoup aimé et avons fait plein de choses différentes, sans que cela nous paraisse être au pas de course.
Nous avons pris l'avion de Bali pour Mamaure, puis sommes descendus vers LB en passant par Ende, Riung (où nous avons fait une journée en mer pour se balader d'iles en iles absolument magnifiques et loin du tourisme), Ruteng (et ses rizières en forme de toile d'arraignée), Bena (et son village au pied du volcan), Moni et le Kelimutu, puis 3 jours dans le parc national de Komodo pour finir (Rinca et Komodo) ; retour Bali depuis l'aéroport de LB
Flores vaut vraiment le coup, oui ; c'est authentique et pas encore très touristique ; çà le deviendra immanquablement...
les 3 jours passés sur le bateau pour faire Rinca et Komodo (et les fameux varans de Komodo) étaient sensationnels... bon, d'accord faut pas avoir peur des cafards sur le bateau (faire attention de pas en ramener dans les bagages...) ; arrêt en route sur Red Beach pour faire du snorkelling, fonds marins à couper le souffle, extraordinaires, fabuleux !
Bref, Florès ne laisse pas indifférent entre ses paysages de volcans, la cote et la mer, et ses habitants super gentils...
Par contre, je confirme que la plage de LB est absolument hallucinante avec tous ces détritus abominables (plastiques et verres en tous genres, aiguilles et seringues qui trainent, etc.), ne pas marcher sans chaussures ! On a failli pleurer de voir çà ; on a essayé de "faire la morale" aux jeunes qui se trouvaient là en leur expliquant que c'est bien triste de voir cela alors que c'est quelque part leur gagne pain en plus ! Bref, LB faut juste y passer...
Bien sûr, après 12 jours sur Florès il ne vous restera que 10 jours à peine pour Bali... mais cela peut se faire sans problème.

Mon ami et moi prévoyons de passer 11 jours à faire la traversée des Florés de Maumère à labuanbajo ainsi que les îles komodo d'ici une dizaine de jours, auriez vous des bons plans à nous indiquer s'il vous plait (hotels/resto/guide ect) ?
j'ai fait le voyage avec mon copain l'année dernière, voila donc ce que je peux vous recommander.
- le parc naturel de komodo est vraiment magnifique (prévoir si possible d'y faire du snorkeling ou de la plongé pour en profiter pleinement)
- si vous vous arrêtez a Ruteng le marché couvert vaut la peine d'être vu, pour dormir, chez les nonnes il parait que c'est le meilleur endroit de la ville (notre hotel était horrible)
- à Bajawa on a pris l'hotel happy happy, sympa avec la mini terrasse et les grandes chambres propre. la bas on a fait un mini trek dans les villages (super), et surtout je vous recommande les sources chaudes (il y a deux sites, un près de bajawa et un à Soa à 1h environ). c'est extra de pouvoir de baigner dans une eau de rivière chaude. on a aussi louer un scooter pour découvrir la région.
- le kelimutu : il parait que c'est magnifique mais le temps était brumeux et on a rien pu voir.
-maumere : c'est nul ! rien à voir... si vous voulez y rester avant ou après l'avion le mieux est de trouver un hôtel sur la côte
- Riung: à savoir qu'il n'y a pas de plage à riung, mais les excursions en bateau à la journée permettent d'acceder au petites iles et leur plages de rêve
la langue
- l'indonésien est une langue super facile (grammaire basique et prononciation comme le francais), donc acheter un petit guide de conversation nous a permis de communiquer avec les locaux.
-transport
pour se déplacer entre les villes on a utilisé au début la voiture partagé avec les locaux le kijang (il suffit de demander dans la rue et ont vous redirige). La voiture fait le tour de la ville pour se remplir de gens (souvent c'est blindé) mais c'est plus confortable que le bus (surtout pour le trajet Bajawa Riung il parait que le bus est infernale vue que la route est défoncé). Ensuite ont a fait du Kijang mais avec un autre couple de touriste pour être seulement 4 dans la voiture et donc avoir plus de confort car le temps sur la route est très long. en général les touristes font le même trajet donc ce n'est pas difficile de trouver des gens. On a aussi acheter une carte sim locale pour pas cher du tout qui nous a permis de réserver les hotels et recontacter notre taxi qui était bien.
En Bref: Flores est une ils magnifique, les gens sont adorables et encore authentique (rien à voir avec Bali et Lombok). Par contre hébergement est rudimentaire, c'est assez bruyant parfois (les sono des voitures toujours à fond dans les villages) et donc pas très reposant (nous avons vraiment apprécié de nous poser dans un hotel plus haut de gamme à Lombok pour la fin du voyage, que je recommande vraiment le svarga).
+1 sur tout avec qqs précisions :
- le happy happy a 8 chambres seulement et sera probablement complet en aout 😠
- les voitures avec chauffeur sont nettement + chères qu'a Bali/Lombok , mais vu les distances et l'état de certaines portions de la transflores, ce n'est pas du luxe. Riung-Bajawa et un vrai champ de mines (3h30 pour 75km en voiture)
- a part Labuan, pas bp de logements et jamais haut de gamme
- Riung est très reposant, les iles désertes (en sept du moins) sont superbes, mais comme précisé pas de plage a cause de la mangrove. Y rester au -2 jours complets pour se remettre du trajet😛
- les sources du coté de Bajawa : Soa est aménagé, très agréable mais pas sauvage. L'autre site est un peu perdu a 30-40 min environ en scooter après Bena ou s'arretent la plupart des gens. C'est vraiment paumé en pleine forêt mais la "route" (non goudronnée) passe a 100m. Très agréable mais il faut descendre très raide après Bena (tester le scooter avant !) et la ballade est très belle
- le marché de Bajawa (légumes/fruits) est aussi sympa : on a acheté pleins de fruits différents dégustés + tard, des excellents, des pas tops, des curieux ... (qqs photos sur mon site ci-dessous)
- la plage de galets bleus vers Ende n'est pas incontournable mais 1 arrêt de 5 min est recommandé car la route la longe
- rizières en étoile : très belles et vite "visitées" (10 mn de marche pour le pt de vue)

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).
I need some expert advice on these two destinations for a 15-day trip. We land in KL and plan to stay for 2 days before heading to Borneo and finishing with an island for snorkeling.
For those who’ve been, what are your must-sees?
We were thinking of spending the last 3 days on the Perhentian Islands, unless you’ve got another island to recommend near Borneo.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before.
