Nous avons pour projet de partir avec ma compagne en Norvège à partir de mi juin 2016.
L'objectif étant de passer 10 à 11 jours sur place.
Nous partons avec notre enfant qui aura 1 an à cette date (nous emmenons poussette & lit parapluie).
Nous envisageons de louer une voiture à notre arrivée.
Après de premières recherches, nous hésitons entre la Norvège du Sud/Ouest et ses Fjords (Bergen / Flâm / Hardangerfjord / Sognefjod etc.) et les Iles Lofoten.
Ce qui nous semble dommage sur la Norvège du Sud/Ouest, ce sont les temps de trajets entre les différentes villes qui vont être assez conséquents, et peut-être pénalisant avec un bébé ?
Nous envisageons sinon les Iles Lofoten (les temps de trajets semblent moins long), mais l'accès y semble un peu plus compliqué (Oslo -> Bodo -> Iles).
Par ailleurs, est-ce que 10 jours sur ces Iles ne sont pas "trop" vis-à-vis de tout ce que nous pourrions voir en Norvège ?
Avez-vous un avis / des préconisations sur ces différents points ?
Quelle partie de la Norvège privilégierez-vous dans ces conditions ?
Je crois quel seul VOUS pouvez répondre . Imaginez un japonais hésitant entre l'ïle de France et la Côte d'Azur + la Corse : que lui diriez vous ?

Déjà, première chose, on ne peut pas envisager un voyage avec un bébé d'un an comme on le ferait en couple sans enfant. L'essentiel n'est-il pas de profiter d'être en famille plutôt que de vouloir en voir un max ? Par conséquent, passer 10 jours sur les îles Lofoten me semble donc tout à fait adapté dans votre cas, tout comme le serait un séjour dans les fjords à condition de ne pas vouloir courir partout.

Au vu de ce que j'ai déjà potassé, pour 10j, je te conseillerais (avis de novice hein 😛) d'aller aux Lofotens et de finir par un fjord.
Par exemple, tu prends un vol jusqu'à Narvik, tu fais les Lofotens du Nord au Sud, tu reprends un vol de Leknes (aéroport plus au Sud des Lofotens) pour aller à Bergen, qui est une ville à ne pas râter apparemment.
ça te permettra de voir différents paysages.
Avec un petit, il me semble préférable de ne pas passer son temps sur les routes et de ce point de vue là, les Lofoten sont préférables.

La ville de Bergen est jolie mais les Lofoten le sont bien davantage (nous étions restés 7 jours aux Lofoten, 3 jours de plus ne nous auraient pas déplu) et avec un bébé j'éviterais de m'éparpiller.
Ceci n'est que mon point de vue et peut-être suis-je de la "vieille école" 😏... alors à vous de voir !

Les Lofoten se trouvent au delà du cercle polaire, il ne faut donc pas s'attendre aux températures de la côte d'Azur 😎. En juin 2014, nous avions eu un temps magnifique mais très frais avec des maximales ne dépassant pas 10 à 15 degrés. Cela dit, j'ai appris que la semaine suivant notre séjour, il a fait près de 30 degrés, comme quoi c'est très variable.😮

Pas de véritable circuit à te proposer clés en main 😉 mais tu peux piocher dans les pages de notre récit (lien donné quelques messages plus haut) pour y glaner ce qui pourrait t'intéresser. Nous avons parcouru les îles de long en large pendant une semaine.

Plutôt que Bodo, je choisirais d'arriver en avion à Narvik (comme l'a fait Wallis) et de louer à partir de là. Cela évite la traversée de 4 heures en ferry entre Bodo et les Lofoten.

Un très joli parcours dans l'absolu en effet, mais dans le cas présent, avec un bébé d'un an, multiplier les étapes et les traversées en ferry, je ne suis pas fan 🙁

Oui mais sur SAS, il faut que tu prennes au moins le tarif SAS GO qui comprend un bagage de 23kg par adulte et 10kg pour le bébé.

En lisant tous les posts je vois que tu as déjà fait ton choix pour les îles Lofoten. C'est ce que je t'aurais conseillé puisque nous y étions en juin 2015 et que nous avons tout simplement adoré.
Je te confirme que l'aéroport est bien celui de Narvik. Nous avions loué notre voiture là-bas, ça c'est très bien passé. Les îles sont à une trentaine de kilomètre à peine.
Pour le climat, c'est au nord du cercle polaire donc il ne faut pas y aller pour chercher la chaleur. Juin 2015 a été froid comparé à celui de 2014. Nous avons eu entre 8 et 13 degrés. Les journées ensoleillées (5 sur 9) ont été les plus froides mais alors quel plaisir de découvrir ces merveilleux paysages sous le soleil. Les journées grises ne sont pas désagréables non plus car du coup les paysages sont totalement différents et restent quand même superbes. Nous avons eu la chance de n'avoir qu'un seul jour de pluie (sans interruption quand même, donc ça fait long mais ça nous a permis de nous reposer).
As tu prévu de prendre un porte bébé pour faire quelques randos ? Parce que les Lofoten se découvrent pas mal en marchant et le terrain n'est pas spécialement adapté à une poussette (pas infaisable non plus).
Nous avons logé à trois endroits différents (Svolvaer, Leknes et A) ce qui nous a permis de découvrir plusieurs coins sans faire trop de route à chaque fois. Si tu dois choisir un seul endroit, je te conseillerais du côté de Leknes qui à mon avis est le plus "central" pour pouvoir rayonner.

Comme je suis aussi en train de m'intéresser à un vol par SAS, il faut faire attention aux tarifs comme dit par l'intervenant précédent.
Il existe aussi un tarif permettant de transporter 2 X 23 kg, peut-être une solution pour transporter tout votre matériel (au cas où il ne serait pas dispo dans les hébergements)

Je me permets de nuancer: c'est un des aéroports possibles parmi d'autres et je viens de sérieusement potasser le sujet.
Je pars au Lofoten début mars et j'atterris à Leknes, via Oslo et Bodo.
J'aurais pu aussi choisir Narvik-Evenes ou Tromso ou m'arrêter à Bodo et prendre le ferry pour Moskenes.
Il y a deux ans, j'étais parti de Trondheim pour faire la route 17. Autre option.
Tout dépend du budget et du temps dont on dispose. Par exemple, le choix que j'ai fait pour mars, c'est parce que c'était la seule solution qui me permettait d'aller de Cherbourg (de Paris ça aurait été pareil) aux Lofoten en une seule journée. Important pour des vacances courtes. En été, il y a souvent plus d'options de vols et on prend souvent des vacances plus longues, le temps de trajet est moins critique.

Un petit plus pour Reine, ou mieux les rorbuer sur les îlots voisins comme Toppoy et Hamnoy pour la vue.
A est vraiment au bout du monde et ça n'est plus vraiment habité. Reine est une petite ville avec commerces.
Mais les deux sont proches, ça n'est pas critique.

On avait trouvé qu'Eliassen Rorbuer (descriptif ici) était bien placé et très agréable. En plus sur leur site tu peux choisir le rorbu lors de la réservation. Par contre, c'était un peu cher.

Personnellement j'allais te dire A mais je sais que plusieurs personnes, comme Olivier, préfère Reine d'après ce que j'ai pu lire. Au début nous avons choisi A pour une question de budget et une fois sur place nous n'avons pas du tout regretté, nous avons vraiment aimé l'ambiance "tout petit village".
Il n'y a effectivement qu'une boulangerie sur A, mais alors quelle boulangerie.... ils ont des brioches à la cannelle vraiment délicieuses. Cette boulangerie est très connue car elle est comme à ses débuts, quand tu y rentres tu as l'impression d'être dans la Petite Maison dans la Prairie.
J'ai moins aimé Reine car il y avait beaucoup trop de camping car à mon gout, du monde partout. J'ai même vu des touristes rentrer sur les terrasses des rorbuer pour faire des photos....
ça reste quand même une très jolie ville mais j'ai préféré le côté un peu plus isolé de A.
Pour les commerces, les deux villes sont à une dizaine de kilomètres à peine. et entre les deux il y a Sorvagen qui a aussi une petite épicerie, ouverte même le dimanche.

voilà un petit aperçu de A et de notre rorbu. Par contre le confort est rudimentaire. C'est vraiment une ancienne cabane de pêcheurs un peu amélioré, mais c'est ce que nous recherchions.
Je n'ai rien contre A. C'est un très bon choix.
Ma préférence, toutes contraintes de prix et dispo mises à part, irait aux Toppoy Rorbuer. C'est un tout petit îlot à l'entrée de Reine, juste assez près pour avoir tous les services à portée de la main et assez à l'écart pour se sentir chez soi.
J'avais bien compris Olivier. Du toute façon il faut le dire, tout est beau aux Lofoten. Je pense que nous avons juste visité Reine au mauvais moment (avec ce bus de touristes qui étaient vraiment sans gène) mais nous y avons quand même pris des photos sympas et si on me dit que je peux y passer une semaine cet été j'y vais de suite sans réfléchir...
Comme tu dis ça reste ensuite une question de budget et de dispo car les locations partent assez vite.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to the Lofoten Islands first, then Senja, near Tromsø, and finally the North Cape.
We’ll likely start from northern Finland (flight tickets and car rentals are more affordable there).
I’d like to book accommodations early to have more options.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one wanting to visit both countries. Are there any great tips to drastically reduce the cost of renting a car?

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
We’re a group of 4 heading out at the end of June for 11 days.
I’m just starting my research.
We’ll be renting a regular car, not a 4x4.
I’m not finding a ton of info on the North.
Would love your take on all those kilometers—is there a route that lets us cut out a section?
