Je suis enseignante et je suis affectée à St Georges à partir de la rentrée 2010. Je pense donc arriver entre le 10 et le 15 août (je suis pour l'instant en métropole, vers Lyon). Ca a l'air plutôt difficile de trouver un logement à St Georges...J'ai trouvé une seule annonce pour un T3 datant de juin sur le site blada. Existe-t-il d'autres sites de petites annonces? Auriez-vous des conseils pour trouver un logement? des contacts 😊Et en attendant d'en trouver un, y a-t-il un hotel à St Georges? Sinon à Cayenne?
Et une fois arrivée à l'aéroport de Cayenne, est-ce facile de louer une voiture pour venir à St Georges, en attendant d'en acheter une?
Et une dernière question pratique...faut-il avoir un livret A en version papier pour retirer de l'argent à la poste, on m'a dit que le bureau de poste n'était pas forcément informatisé...

Non, non ni panique ni noeud à l'estomac, tu vas voir la Guyane est un département (là bas on dit pays) attachant, tu vas vivre une expérience extra-ordinaire

Je te conseille le forum : ma guyane, il y a des gens charmants qui sauront te répondre et qui sait t'accueillir
C’est qui qui raconte des absurdités pareilles (et je reste poli ^^) sur Saint Georges de l’Oyapock et son bureau de poste ? Pourquoi pas payer aussi avec de la monnaie de singe, tant qu’on y est ?
Le bureau de poste est totalement identique à n’importe quel bureau de poste de métropole. Il y a aussi un distributeur d’argent à l’extérieur.

Baudouin, la question sur le bureau de poste vient de moi, ce n'était sans aucune arrière pensée. Ma question était bien plus respectueuse que la réponse que tu m'as formulée. Sache qu'il existe des bureaux de poste qui ne sont pas informatisés, il faut donc des livrets A version papier pour pouvoir y retirer de l'argent. Ceci ne serait donc pas le cas pour St Georges, merci donc pour ton renseignement.
Faut pas monter sur ses grands chevaux, comme ça, hein.... ^^

Car c'est tout simplement dire n'importe quoi sur la poste de Saint Georges.
Les gens racontent ce qu'ils veulent sur la Guyane, et souvent des mensonges. Autant rétablir la vérité.
Pour finir, oui, je te conseille d'avoir une CB de la poste, c'est tout simplement plus pratique si tu veux avoir des relevés directement au guichet ou pour des virements.
Ceci dit, tous mes collègues n'ont pas une CB de la poste et vivent très bien ici en retirant de l'argent au guichet à l'extérieur.
Ca y est, j'ai mon billet d'avion, j'arrive à Cayenne le 17 aout. Mais j'arriverai trop tard pour faire le trajet en bus cayenne-régina-st georges, surtout qu'apparemment il n'y a pas d'hotel à Regina. Je mettrai une annonce de covoiturage sur blada. Ou sinon en taxi co peut-être. Pff. Je verrai bien :)

En parlant dans l'avion ou avant le départ tu risques de trouver des gens qui vont à ST Georges , n'hésite pas en général (je dis bien en général) il y a entraide et solidarité sur ce département lointain
Tu peux passer voir Stétho au poste infirmier, on a connu ses débuts et sa farouche volonté de servir en Guyane, il te racontera lui même

Salut! trop tard par rapport aux horaires, je louperai la correspondance de bus à Régina (j'ai trouvé les horaires sur le site du conseil général, et j'arrive à 15h50 à cayenne). Mais comme le dit Cayenne973, je trouverai peut être des gens dans l'avion.

tu peux aussi voir le pharmacien de ST Georges un peu "bizarre" mais hyper compétent :)
J'ai habité en Guyane 25 ans mais de l'autre coté. Pour St-Georges , il n'y a pas grand chose, si vous trouvez appartement prenez -le, à défaut allez à Oiapoqué au Brésil et faites l'aller-retour chaque jour (présenter son passeport à l'entrée de Oiapoqué) Oiapoqué: sale, mais de nombreux hotels ou pousada, 20 mn pour y aller en Pirogue (facile à trouver) St Georges tout petit, 2 ou 3 magasins. La Guyane est peu informatisée, certaines postes n'ont pas de balances pour les paquets!!! Controle de police français obligatoire sur la route de st-georges (c'est des chiants). Pour aller à St-Georges prendre bus collectif, si possible le matin, demander au taxi de vous y emmener à partir de l'aéroport ( à 17 km de Cayenne, 30 euros). Les bus sont prés du Canal Laussat, pas loin du marché. Je ne sais pas combien ça coute pour aller à st-Georges mais y'a 150 km soir peut-etre 30 euros en bus collectif. NE PAS S'ARRETER SUR LA ROUTE VERS St-GEORGES

Saint Georges de l'Oyapock est un tout petit village (moins de 5000 habitants).
Il n'y a donc pas d'hôpital à Saint Georges. Il y un centre de santé qui dépend du centre hospitalier de Cayenne ( le CHAR), avec un ou deux médecins et quelques IDE (5/6).
Tous les postes au centre (peu nombreux) à Saint Georges sont pourvus actuellement (Août 2010, Printemps 2011)
Par contre, le Centre Hospitalier de Cayenne recherche toujours des IDE pour différents services:

Je ne suis plus en Guyane et donc plus au faît des dernières infos, dans ce département où il y a un fort turn over (les gens restent en moyenne 4 ans ou s'installent définitivement)
C'est pourquoi je te renvoie sur le forum "ma guyane", les forumeurs y habitent encore et ont les infos plus pointues
Pour ce qui est du parharmacien il fallait, bien sûr, voir les guillemets mais, le moins que l'on puisse dire c'est qu'il n'est pas un modèle de "classicisme" tu iras le voir et te feras ton opinion toi même :)

En ce qui concerne les bestioles, t'as pas vraiment de souci à te faire! pour l'instant, depuis 1mois que je suis ici, je n'ai rien vu à St Georges de dangereux.
C'est vrai que la région ici est magnifique, par contre les habitants qui n'aiment pas forcément sortir en foret, faire du kayak, les activités "nature", ces habitants s'ennuient ici. Mais si tu aimes, il faut venir!
En tout cas, je trouve tout bcp moins impressionnant que ce qu'on dit: les moustiques, on n'est pas completement envahi! il fait pas si humide que ca non plus. En même temps on est en pleine saison seche, et il fait tres tres chaud. C'est pour l'instant ce qui est un peu dur pour moi (avec le fait d'etre loin de ma famille et de mes amis...)
Voilà, je ne sais pas trop quoi te dire d'autre. En tout cas, il n'y a rien d'inquiétant ici à St Georges :)
