hi fellow cyclists!

Outside, the weather isn’t great for bike escapes! But that doesn’t stop us from planning ahead. Starting to look at a map or other resources is when the journey begins! So, what are your plans? For us, there’s a trip in the drawer ready for a few months now—heading south (Montpellier) from the Allier department! Another idea has been taking shape: Corrèze, Périgord!!! Looking forward to reading your replies, have a great day! !

My wife and I only travel on weekends. Last June, we went from Calvisson to Laroque via the really nice bike paths in the Cévennes—Calvisson to Lecques, then 8 km on small roads, followed by the great bike path from Quissac to Laroque. We camped by the Hérault River—such a fun little weekend!

After Laroque, you can follow the Hérault to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a gorgeous village, and then head down to Montpellier along the nice bike path by the Lez. You can also turn left and cross the Camargue, circling the Vaccarès pond partly on land via the sea dike—super scenic and smooth riding!

We’re planning another weekend trip from Calvisson to Sommières, then branching off to other bike paths toward Montpellier. We’ll stay at a campsite in Villeneuve and return via Aigues-Mortes the next day.

happy trails!
