Ils sont très bien ces sites mais j'y suis toujours confronté au même problème : on nous indique comment suivre un traitement préventif en fonction des pays, des zones, du climat, etc. mais jamais on ne parle de "curatif". Au risque de me répéter, quand je dis curatif, je veux dire un médoc qui permette de diminuer ou ralentir les effets du palu le temps de rejoindre un centre.
Je comprends, d'une certaine manière, que ces sites, tout comme les centres de vaccination hésitent à aborder le sujet car pour eux, il faut utiliser un traitement préventif dans tous les cas. Partir sans traitement préventif (hors protection moustique évidemment), ne fait pas partie de leur discours. Or, il se trouve que baucoup de voyageurs (surtout pour les longues durées) ont pris, comme moi, l'option de ne pas prendre de triatement préventif (voir les nombreux posts sur le sujet).
Alors je répète ma question : que prendre comme traitement CURATIF ?
Quelques précisions : TDM 8 mois (Asie, Océanie, Am Sud), zones 1, 2 et 3, villes et campagnes, saison froide et sèche.
Moi je dirais Malarone. C'est cher, mais ce sera plus facile à prendre, en cas de problème, que du Lariam qui a des effets secondaire qui peuvent être importants.
Il y a d'autres médicaments comme le coartem, ou le malarlife, à base d'une plantes chinoise l'artemisine, mais je pense que c'est difficile de s'en procurer.
je dirais pour ma part "malarone", plus cher que les autres comme ecrit ci par lilla.. mais peu d'effets secondaires par rapport aux autres..abime moins le foie cest sur! et puis le medoc peut etre utilise pdt 4 ans...donc si tu voyages souvent cest pas mal tu auras tout le tps de l'utiliser..
Le Lariam est THE antipaludeen a ne pas prendre!
Effets secondaires tres nefastes, notamment au niveau psychologique (hallucinations, angoisses, depressions).
Le Malarone est le seul anti-paludeen qui apparemment n'ait pas d'effets secondaire notables.
pas trop d'ac ça dépend des gens, j'ai pris ce traitement et je n'ai pas eu d'effets secondaires...je sais que ça peut arriver cependant, mais de toute façon la question d'origine est dans le cas d'un traitement curatif du palu, donc les hallus y'en aura!!!! et sinon je crois que c'est une répartition par zone et je ne sais pas si la malarone est valable partout...à voir...

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
