J'habite actuellement dans le sud de la france et j'ai comme projet de passer le concours de Professeur des Ecoles à l' IUFM de la Réunion.
Seulement voilà, je suis seule avec un enfant de 11 mois et je me demande si cela ne va pas être trop dur de me retrouver dans un endroit où je ne connais pas grand monde .....
Cependant, passer mon concours ici (en métropole) m'obligerait à y rester encore un long moment (une fois l'obtention du CRPE, une demande de changement de département peut-être, à mon avis, assez long) Alors que j'ai réellement envie de vivre sur l'île avant que mon fils ne rentre à l'école primaire.
Voilà. Telle est la situation actuelle 😕
Si vous pouviez me conseiller sur les conditions du concours sur l'île, sur les chances de trouver une place après obtention de ce dernier, sur les places en crèche, sur la vie d'une maman seule sur l'île, ......
Car le temps presse et si je me décide on viendrait (mon fils et moi) en juillet 2011 !

je ne sais pas si je vais te venir en aide mais je sais que le concours de la réunion est le plus dur de france (au niveau pourcentage de réussite), le moins "dur" c'est la guyane. Ensuite si tu veux vraiment travailler à la réunion, je pense qu'il vaut mieux passer directement le concours là bas au lieu d'attendre une éventuelle mutation, elle est très dur à obtenir et les réunionnais sont prioritaires.
Sinon concernant la "solitude", je pense que c'est à peu près comme partout enfin sauf que tu rencontreras des gens avec une culture très différente donc les contacts seront plus difficile à nouer.

Et je me suis renseignée il est vrai que la mutation peut prendre du temps (plus que dans le sens inverse, au cas où je ne me ferai pas à la vie là-bas).
De toute façon j'ai déjà envoyé mon dossier de candidature j'ai la réponse en mai. Donc pour l'instant je ne sais pas encore ....

alors moi j'ai vécu là bas jusqu'au bac mais ma mère était PE là bas donc je suis assez au courant de ce qu'il se passe. Et puis comme je veux moi même être PE je me renseigne ;). Donc voila ce concours est très difficile mais bon si tu t'accroches il n'y a pas de raison de ne pas y arriver. Tu es déjà allé à la Réunion? Si non, ce serait bien que tu y fasses un petit tour avant, c'est vraiment très différent de la métropole. Les écoles (sauf celles construites récemment) sont en général moins bien équipées mais c'est tout à fait correct (par exemple je n'ai jamais eu de dortoir pour la sieste, ma mère non plus pour ses élèves, 2 minables ventilateurs dans une classe où il fait 35° en plein été) mais l'ambiance y est très bonne! Les enfants bougent beaucoup (ils sont habitués à être à l'extérieur) mais sont vraiment gentils! Ma mère qui travaille maintenant dans un petit village près de Rennes ne voit pas de différence de niveau scolaire, sauf bien sûr qu'ici ils parlent français. A la réunion aussi bien sûr mais c'est quand même le créol qu'on entend le plus.
Au fait, tu as déjà un niveau bac+5 ou alors tu comptes faire le master enseignement à la réunion?

Et non je n'ai pas mon master j'ai arrêté les études après la licence donc je me suis inscrite à l'IUFM de St-Denis : j'ai envoyer mon dossier la semaine dernière et la réponse est pour le mois de mai ...
Je ne connais pas la Réunion mais connais quelques personnes qui ont habité là-bas et je pense que je m'y ferai. De tte façon, si la réponse est positive, je partirai bien avant pour découvrir l'île et ferai demi-tour si cela ne me branche pas (je m'inscris aussi en métropole au cas où ....) Mais bon je ne pense pas qu'il y est de problème ....
Je connais pas mal les Antilles et même si j'imagine que c'est différent l'ambiance " île " me parle pas mal !!
Et toi tu comptes enseigner en métropôle ? ou faire un petit come back dans le grand Sud 😉
Je peux peut-être partager mon expérience avec toi, puisque j'ai moi-même passé le CRPE à La Réunion en 2007 (14% de réussite cette année-là).
Pour commencer, si tu veux vraiment t'installer à La Réunion et devenir PE, alors il vaut mieux passer le concours sur place, car pour information, l'année passée, sur 766 candidats à vouloir intégrer l'académie, seulement 66 ont obtenu leur mutation...

Les conditions du concours ici sont les mêmes qu'en métropole: tu dois obtenir ton master enseignement. Je ne pourrais pas t'en dire davantage sur les épreuves, parce que moi-même j'ai passé l'ancien concours.
Concernant les chances de trouver une place après l'obtention du concours, il faut savoir que le concours étant académique, cela signifie que tu dois nécessairement être en poste ici. Il faut savoir que théoriquement, tu dois d'ailleurs 3 ans (d'activité) sur place après l'obtention du concours.
Pour ce qui est de la vie d'une jeune maman seule, je ne pense pas qu'elle soit différente de métropole...
Quant aux crèches, elles sont saturées et les listes d'attente sont extrêmement longues !

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
