le voyage se fera en février pour une periode allant de 3 mois à 6 mois...on espere...on espere ne pas revenir!!
Est-ce que quelqu'un connait la ville de Heredia. Si oui d'apres vous ca se passe comment avec des enfants. combien faudra-y-il prévoir sachant qu'on est tres simple a vivre (aucun artifice, et deteste le luxe). y a t-il une communauté francophone la bas (question de repere).

Bonjour !! je vous souhaites un bon voyage au Costa Rica un pays que je visite depuis maintenant 5 ans ! Vous vous sentirez bien peut importe le petit village ou vous allez vous installer...Parcontre garder en tête si vous pensez travailler, que le Costa Rica est un pays pauvre ou les gens on de la dificulté a subvenir a leurs besoin, bien quon peut penser le contraire en voyant ler joie quotidienne et que si vous occuper un poste de travaille dans se pays vous enlever la chance a quelqun de la bas de travailler a cette endroit, le travaille est de plus très dificile a trouver pour les ticos(costa Ricain), en revanche vous avec le francais et surement l'anglais que vous parlé, n'aurrez aucune dificulté a vous faire embaucher pensez y bien! De plus je ne crois pas que former une communaut francaise dans un pays gros comme le Costa Rica est une bonne affaire pour les gens de la bas, essayer donc plutôt de vous conformer à la manière de vivre la bas et d'apprendre leure langue et leure culture!!
La facon dont nous somme organisés est tres simple en soit: l'appartement que l'on occupe a montreal va etre sous loué a partir du mois de fevrier; moi je part au CR 2 semaines voir 3 pour trouver un truc a louer, je reviens a montreal, on prend le necessaire et on *&?%!" le camp...rendu la-bas, on verra. en fait, on s'dit que si on pense trop, ca pourrait nous faire desister, alors on fonce et au pire des cas (j'dis bien le pire) on revient a montreal...🙁.
Et vous comment vous vous y prenez? ou comptez vous aller? avez vous l'intention d y dtravailler?
a propos de former une communauté ce n'est nullement mon intention. Comme indiqué dans mon premier message..."question de repere". Lorsequ'on quitte un pays pour aller vers un autre, la premiere action instinctive est d'avoir un repere n'est-ce pas.
De plus, je suis un pigiste qui travail par internet...conclusion, le fait que je travail au CR ou au Japon ne fera aucune difference pour les ticos.

Merci pour votre réponse. Je termine mes études en tant qu'ingénieur logiciel en décembre et ma femme est pigiste en traduction. Donc pour elle, ce n'est pas un problème de travailler d'ici ou de là-bas. Pour moi, c'est un peu différent mais je n'ai aucun problème à faire autre chose pendant quelques semaines ou quelques mois. Si je peux par contre trouver quelque chose dans mon domaine, ce serait génial.
Rien n'est fixé encore, mais on y pense sérieusement. Ma femme est déjà allée 7 semaines au Costa Rica et elle habitait dans une famille à Turialba. Elle a adorée son expérience et elle veut y retourner à tout prix. Tant qu'à moi, ce sera ma première expérience là-bas.
Notre but là-bas ?
Pour moi: apprendre l'espagnol, faire tomber le stress de Montréal et p-e commencer tranquillement ma carrière si c'est possible.
Pour elle: s'assurer d'améliorer son expagnol afin d'ajouter cette langue à son répertoire de traduction, vivre la vie "Zen" de cet endroit.
Voilà, on y pense encore, rien de fixé, c'est pour ça que je pose des questions !

Si vous allez vers le nord visiter le pays n'oublier pas d'aller visiter La Fortuna de San Carlos, ou vous pourrez admirer le volcan Arenal en eruption, et il y a aussi la Reserve de Monteverde, un incomtournable, ou on se retrouve au coeur de la jungle. A Monteverde vous pouvez trouver des renseignements et les meilleur prix du coin pour faire des activités à l'office ( Info center camino verde) ou le guide peux vous donner de l'information en francais sur la région. Egalement dans plusieurs endroit au CR vous retrouver des chambres d'hotel 7$/10$ avec cuisine, ou vous pouvez obtenir de très bon pris pour le mois, donc si vous partez vivre vous pouvez toujours prendre un apart-hotel en attendant d'etre sur le terrain pour trouver quelque chose de plus convenable. Et normalement les gens avec des enfant sont superbement bien accueilli partout dans le pays..bon voyage et foncé vous n'avez rien a perdre tout a trouver !!

OUI, iL y a une communauté francophone, et pour etre plus precis, une communauté quebequoise et une communauté francaise, je ne sais pas si elles s'entendent! Bref, questions reperes, pas de soucis, surtout que le Costa Rica est destiné à devenir le 51 etat Americain. Voir le referendum sur le Traité de Libre Echange....
Heredia est sympa, il y a de tout, des malls, des endroits plus isolés, la ville est tres dynamique grace aux université, le climat peut etre un peu chaud en Decembre-Juin.
Sinon, il y a beaucoup d'écoles privées dans la region d'Escazú Santa Anna (CountryDay, etc....) les ecoles publiques sont rarement preferées par le expats.
Au Costa Rica, 2 modes de vie: La vie "condos-mall-condos", et la vie...normale, bref "pura vida". Niveaux de vie differents.

🙂 heu, pour un "frenchie", pas mal, oui! Serieusement, si le Tratdo Libre Comercio passe, ce sera tres compliquE de resister culturellement. Americanisé, europeanisé, canadienisé, ... dans la longueur et dans les largeurs! La culture n'etait pas assez enracinée, les ticos ont toujours rejeté leurs peuples indigenes aujoud'hui indigents, ... si l'histoire se répète, c'est ainsi.... Entre nous, on ne visite pas la Costa Rica pour sa culture mais pour sa richesse naturelle. Sinon, socialement, c'est un beau pays, tranquille et qui offre des opportunités certaines. Sinon, coté super positif pour en terminer, on trouve des agriculteurs bio dans le pays(le marché Bio se trouve au Sud de San José) et ce n'est qu'un debut, on trouve des circuits de tourisme rural (notament grace à ACTUAR) et des reserves naturelles superbes, ainsi que des projets privés de conservation interessantissimes.

Alors au sujet de la perception des etrangers par les ticos, c'est tres exceptionnel: Les ticos acceptent tres bien les expatriers, autant que les touristes. Pas de jalousie, pas de mise à l'écart, juste une xenophobie contre les Nicaraguaiens, mais resultant d'un autre probleme. Pas de soucis à avoir, vous serez "bienvenidos". Franchement, la situation au Costa Rica est telle qu'il n'y a pas de statut particulier pour les expats. Tu peux t'assumer en tant qu'hippie, affairiste, retraité, escroc, ecolo, et j'en passe. Mais un petit conseil.... on peut s'ennuyer vite au Paradis, alors avoir un projet qui s'integrera au contexte, ca me parait essentiel. Mon epouse travaille dans la conservation, et je suis dans l'artisanat, la greffe a bien prise!
Bonjour! nous sommes revenus du costa rica en 2003 apresy avoir passe 1 an avec notre petite fille qui avait quelques mois a l'epoque, c'etait une magnifique xperience que nous devrions renouveler en 2008 (avec le notre fils en plus). Ce pays est tres bien pour les enfants, meme si je ne connais pas la ville d'heredia.

On est à la case départ, c'est à dire qu'on commence à regarder pour un endroit merveilleux pour habiter et partir un ptit commerce genre "café bistrot" sur la côte pacifique...(montezuma, Ako ou autre on ne sait pas trop). On aimerait des suggestions et commentaires si vous en avez.

la vie pour les immigrants, comment ils sont perçus, est ce que c'est sécuritaire. Economiquement est ce que le pouvoir d'achat est consistant. Peut on trouver un emploi sur place ect....
dependament de la ville que tu choisi pour t'instaler...
Panama: execivement cher mais tres beau, certains coins dangereux mais le pourvoir d'achat est tres limité.
Nous avons choisi de vivre pres de la ville de David, plus proche de la frontiere Costa ricaine, question de sortir tout les 3 mois, pour le visa
Immigration: a moins de se marier avec une panameene ou d;avoir 200 000$ a investir, faut oublier la residence et se contenter de sortir tout les 3 mois. Les immigrants sont bien percus, le probleme c'est que dès que t'es étranger, on crois que t'es riche donc si tu cherche un terrain...bonne chance.
Moi j'ai la chance de parler espagnol et de ne pas avoir l'air étranger, vu que je suis d'origine arabe...je fond bien dans la masse, mais ma femme et mes enfants, un peu moins, mais c'est pas grave.
Exemple, y a un francais ici qui cherche un terrain, a Boqueron (petit village ou je vis a 20 klm de David), impossible de payer moins que 15$ le m2... quand moi je suis venu negocier, je l'ai eu a 10$...bref
Le pouvoir d;achat: Pour l'instant je n'ai pas a me pleindre, le dollars canadien est fort donc je veux n'en profiter pour acheter un petit qqc... a mon avis faut pas trop attendre vu que le $ americain risque de remonter ( faut savoir que la monnaie ici c'est le US).
Trouver un emplois: a moins d'avoir les papiers de travail...non

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
