Désolée si ce post fait répétition, mais je n'ai pas trouvé ttes les infos nécessaires (et aussi, j'avoue y'a des tonnes et tonnes de post et je n'ai pas eu le courage de tt lire!) afin d'envisager un voyage.
Je souhaiterais partir en Asie du Sud Est, l'idéal pour moi serait de partir 2 mois (si mes congés sont accordés biensur...), je voulais savoir si cela était faisable de partir 3 semaines aux Philippines, 3semaines en Malaisie et 3 semaines en Indonésie entre mi mars et mi mai: par ailleurs pensez vous que cela est la bonne période? J'ai lu sur le forum que pour les Philippines en mars y'avait pas de soucis niveau temps, par contre l'Indonésie et Malaisie il y'avait des périodes de pluie +/- importantes. Je suis consciente que cela fait juste pour visiter le maximum de choses (et surtt les îles qui sont très nombreuses), mais j'aurais aimé savoir quoi privilégié comme itinéraire.
Concernant le budget, pensez vous que 2000€ (transports en interne, hébergement, alimentation, visites) pour les deux mois semblent possibles? Je souhaiterais faire un peu de plongée (mais vraiment en initiation), mais surtt faire des balades, aller à la rencontre de la population. Durant ces deux mois, je devrais rejoindre un couple d'amis durant qq jours, qui sont seront surmenent là bas durant cette période.
Niveau sécurité, je m'interroge un peu. Ce voyage (s'il abouti), sera le premier où (je pense) je devrais voyager un peu seule. Les régles de sécurité élméntaires appliquées (pas de sorties seule le soir, éviter certains "lieux" repérés par les guides comme dangeureux), y'a t-il d'autres précautions à prendre??
Par ailleurs, si qq'une a un projet similaire nous pourrions peut être faire un bout de chemin ensemble?

Il y a 2 choses que je trouve dommage dans ton itinéraire :
- Pourquoi vouloir faire 3 pays ? Les Philippines et l'Indonésie sont des archipels et sont immenses surtout le 2e... En 2 mois j'aurais opté pour 2 pays maxi.
- Pourquoi partir en Malaisie et Indo en saison humide, alors que la période que tu cites est plus favorable pour le reste de l'Asie du Sud-Est, Thaïlande etc. Mais là je ne parle pas par expérience vu que j'y suis toujours allé en juillet-août (= temps toujours très sec sur Java et îles de la Sonde).
Pour le budget, sans compter le vol depuis la France l'an dernier on a dépensé un peu plus de 2000e pour un mois aux Philippines, hôtels petit budget, transports en commun mais 3 vols intérieurs compris. Pour une famille, 2 adultes et 2 enfants jeunes. Evidemment en recherchant plus de confort ou plus de rapidité, il faudra compter beaucoup plus...

Mais là où cela devient difficile, c'est quand on veut en faire beaucoup avec peu de moyen.
1000 €/mois, c'est faisable en restant sur un seul pays . En faire deux, voir trois va devenir compliqué.
Fait une simulation et recherche par exemple le prix le plus bas pour un vol Manille Kuala Lumpur, puis Kuala Lumpur Jakarta.
Et enlèves les de ton budget.
Concernant les Philippines, il semble difficile de faire de la plongée, de la ballade, aller à la rencontres des populations, en restant au même endroit.
C'est donc encore des déplacements.
A la fin, il va te rester quoi, pour boire, manger, dormir, payer les entrées, faire tes plongées !!! 500 € par pays ??? et encore !!!
166€ semaines. 23,7I € jours soit environ 1230 pesos .
Ici à Davao Une plongée,700 à 900 pesos.
Une chambre individuelle (pas le luxe) à partir de 300 pesos, jusqu'à 800 pesos pour du correct, deux repas (de quoi ne pas mourrir de faim = 300 pesos) qq déplacement en ville = 50 pesos. Boire un bierre = 45 à 60 pesos, un nescafé =15 pesos !
Une entrèe à un resort, pour avoir une plage entretenue = 60 à 100 pesos/
Une visite, jusqu'à 150 pesos (Crocodile park ou Eagle Center)
Si tu veux aller à la rencontre de population, il faudra porter des petits cadeaux ! Et faire encore des déplacements.
A moins d'aller au milieu de population dans les quartiers au milieu des squatters.
Pour voir des Ethnie, il faudra aller un peu plus loin. Donc plus de frais !
Un bus jusqu'à Genéral Santos c'est 220 pesos. De général Santos à Koronadal, c'est 80 pesos. Il faudra bien encore 40 à 50 pesos de jeepney et motorcycle pour aller voir les T'bolis.
Ceux qui sont habitués à venir aux Philipines, peuvent le faire difficilement. Mais pour un premier voyage, je trouve que c'est vraiment, vraiment du juste, juste !!!
Une mauvaise tourista (hé oui, ca peu arriver ! une consultation de médecin c'est 300 pesos, Et tu as facilement pour autant de médicaments !
Sécurité. mainte fois abordé sur ce forum.
Si tu ne vas pas te mettre la tête dans la gueule du loup, tu ne risque rien §
Quelques quartiers à éviter de nuit suivant les villes.
Et les mauvaises provinces, où il y a de vrais gros risques d'enlèvement ou de conflit armé, tu n'as aucune raison d'y aller.
Il n'y a rien à y voir, surtout pour un premier voyage !!!
Une dernière chose. Méfies toi des guides papier concernant la dangerosité de certains endroits.

Leur devise est : Surtout ne pas se mouiller afin de ne pas pouvoir être incriminé !!!

Oui, le budget est juste, d'autant plus qu'une personne seule dépense plus en hébergement par exemple. Les chambres doubles ou triples avec un "extra bed" nous ont coûté entre 600 et 900p (1000p à El Nido) ; pour une personne seule, c'est moins avantageux.
Peut-être une raison supplémentaire de "zapper" la Malaisie, plus chère que les 2 autres ?

Par exemple , deux cocas te reviendront plus cher qu'une grande bouteille que tu pourras boire à trois !
Le soir, dans les bars à musique, le sceau de 7 bières c'est 200 pesos/ A l'unité, c'est 40 !!!
Un sandwich au paté (on est français ou on ne l'est pas !) = 180 pesos ! Hors, une baguette = 40 pesos environ, une boite de paté = 65 pesos . Et tu fais DEUX sandwichs !
Mais elle n'a pas le choix. Si elle est seule ????
De plus on est toujours tenté par quelque chose, en voyage !
Sur la plage, le paréo qui va bien avec son maillot de bain, La glace à la crème qui fait envie, le mango shack dont on ne peu plus se passer;
Ou qu'on a oublier :la crème solaire , le off pour les moustiques, l
Ou qui est une nécessité : le dentifrice ou le gel de douche qu'on a fini, (pour les dames, les protection intimes)
ou qu'il faut remplacer : les tongs qui ont rendue l’âme sur le dernier trip!
Les Taxes d'aéroport qu'il faut inclure dans les voyages !
Sans faire de folies, et pour en faire un minimum, je pense que prévoir 30€ jour, si on ne doit pas rester sédentaire dans un coin, c'est vraiment un minimum.
Si tu ne veux pas etre harcelée, évite l'Indonésie (musulmane) et la Malaisie...Toutes les voyageuses que j'ai rencontrés, m'ont affirmées que les
Phils étaient un havre de tranquillité par rapport aux autres pays d'Asie, meme ceux qui faisaient un tour du monde se sentaient plus en sécurité
qu'ailleurs, enfin, elles n'avaient plus besoin d'etre sur leur garde 24h/24...Ca veut tout dire...et 2 mois c'est court pour visiter les Philippines...
Donc, je me concentrerais exclusivement sur ce seul pays!Il y a de quoi faire ! Salut!
PS: la période est Très bonne! 2000 euros c'est largement assez pour 2 mois, transports compris(aériens, boats et bus)...
La Cordilléra (10 a 15 jours):Sagada, Banaué, Bontoc et Tinglayan. Boracay(5 a 7 jours)plage blanche, Magnifique!Puis l'archipel des Calamians,
Busuanga(Coron-city), puis prendre un boat pour l'archipel de Bacuit(El-Nido), fantastique, (pour la plongée ou le snorkel, les environs de Busuanga est un must),12 jours pour les 2 endroits...Puis, Camiguin:8-10 jours, le reste tu va a Bohol pour les Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers, puis retour a Manille!

En plus de l'itinéraire proposé par LeMonk, il y a peut-être moyen de faire un AR au Nord Sulawesi (j'ignore quelle est la desserte aérienne actuellement depuis Davao ou autres ni s'il y en a toujours une), c'est un super coin et les mentalités sont tranquilles. Beaucoup de choses à faire dans un petit périmètre.

je ne suis jamais partie en Asie (en Inde du Nord seulement, mais tt est vraiment moins cher la bas!(pour 3 semaines, j'en ai eu pour 450€ environ: hébergement, nourriture, transport interne et souvenirs), et je ne connais pas vraiment la "valeur de l'argent" là bas.
concernant les vols internes j'avais regardé sur le net pour avoir une idée (environ 250€ les 2 vols (Manille-Kula Lumpur-Jakarta)) et je ne les avais pas inclus dans le budget mais plus avec le billet d'avion...
mais bref, les Philippines semblent faire l'unanimité parmis vous! mon projet n'est pas encore bien précis (congés, amis...), mais je vais suivre vos conseils et m'orienter sur un seul pays sur 1 ou 2 mois, ça ne dépendra pas que de moi, mais de ma chef ;-) ...et éviter les pluies ne seraient pas du luxe non plus! l'Indonésie et la Malaisie ça sera pour un prochain voyage :-)

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. Hi everyone,
My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
The idea is to know what to expect so we can prepare as best as possible. Thanks for your replies! !
