Après avoir tournée la question de notre itinéraire dans tous les sens, j'en arrive au dilème suivant :
Sachant que : nous serons 21 jours en mai au Phils qu'on veut absolument faire Banaue et alentours + Palawan (El Nido+ 1 île -cacnipa ou coco loco ou Flower- la rivière souterraine ne nous branche pas)
Donc pour la 3e partie de notre voyage, on hésite entre :
A / Coron + Calauit
Sachant que : il n'y a pas de vol El Nido-Coron; la traverssée prendra donc 1 journée (d'ailleurs, je suis preneuse d'infos sur les heures des traversées, dans les 2 sens, si vous avez) on plonge un peu, mais on est débutant et pas non plus fanatiques : je pense pas qu'on fera plus de 2 ou 3 plongées. je n'arrive pas à me faire une idée de Calauit : elle n'est pas cité dans le Lonely, et très peu dans le Jens Petter et le forum. En fait, j'ai un peu peur que ce soit une attraction genre le zoo de Peaugre en Rhône-Alpes (comparaison grossière, je vous l'accorde) et enfin, ce coin difficile d'accès semble moins férquenté par les touristes, non? Ce qui pourrait être un bon point pour cette option.
B/ Bohol + Siquijor
Sachant que : J'aimerais bcp faire la rencontre de cet adorable primate aux gros yeux. Est-ce que le parc des Tarsier est intéressant? Ce que j'ai lu et vu de Siquijor me plait bien. Ce qu'on aime faire sur les îles, c'est partager notre temps entre la découverte des terres (habitants, villages, coins de nature) et finir nos journées à la plage. Siquijor paraît être un terrain de jeu idéal pour ça non?
Voilà... Je suis bien concsiente qu'il s'agit d'un choix très personnel, mais j'aurais aimer connaitre votre avis avant de nous décider !

pour ce qui est de bohol et siquijor tu auras besoin de 5 jours minimum pour les deux !!
pour ce qui est des plongees ici sur bohol / panglao tu as les moniteurs francais en prime si besoin est !
quand au choix il est cornelien! banaue / palawan / bohol sont des points touristiques avec des sites uniques comme terraces de riz/plages et rochers dans l'eau et tarsiers et chocolates hills !! donc a toi de choisir si tu voir les principaux spots touristiques ou si tu veux faire ton propre itineraire selon tes envies et tes gouts.
tous ces sujets ont ete traites deja maintes fois ici mais si tu veux des renseignements plus precis sur bohol/ panglao n'hesites pas a me contacter

L archipel de bacuit est magnifique, je te conseille d'y aller si tu aimes
les iles, les petites plages aux sable blanc, des paysage haut en couleurs!!
Et surtout les ballades en bateau!!Sinon pour Calauit, j'ai ete assez decue!
il y a quelques girafes et des zebres mais rien d'exceptionnel en plus c relativement cher!Par contre le lac de Coron est assez sympa mais le trajet entre el Nido et coron, une horreur!!!Au lieu de 6h de bateau on en a fait 10 dans une mer assez agitee!!!!Voila!!Si tu as besoin d 'autres renseignements, n hesites pas!!

Elles corroborent ce que je pensais : nous allons effectivement aller sur Palawan, mais laisser tomber Busuanga pour les Vysayas. Peut-être Bohol et Siquijor, mais j’hésite encore… Peut-être as-tu des conseils pour cette région ?
Et si non, tu es allé à Banaue – Sagada ? Si oui, comment as-tu organisé ton séjour au nord de Luzon ?
Bonjour, je te fais part de ma récente expérience. Pour aller voir les rizières, j'ai pris un bus de nuit Manille-Baguio, puis Baguio-Sagada. Les 2 bus se sont enchainés assez rapidement, mais c'est assez long et fatiguant car on ne peut pas trop dormir. (s'habiller chaudement il fait froid dans les bus) mais la route Baguio Sagada est très belle. Après tu peux faire Sagada-Bontoc-Banaue en jeepney et bus. Au retour bus de nuit Banaue- Manille.
En 21 jours, tu ne pourras pas faire Bohol ET Siquijor après Palawan. J'ai beaucoup aimé Siquijor (pardon Yannick) et franchement aller à Bohol juste pour aller voir les tarsiers, non. Enfin c'est mon avis et j'adore les animaux. Pour aller à Siquijor de Palawan : avion Puerto Princesa-Cebu puis ferry Cebu Siquijor.

Bonjour bonjour le forum j’ai fait Busuanga-Coron en voyage avec Jo d’ilesevasion.com nuit au Kubo et aventure en Banca speechlesssssss. Wow wow l’île de Sangat et le lac Coron. Pour Siquijor ambiance d’enfer et live band à Hollyette’s nuit au Royal cliff -1000p superbe chiken curry sur place et petit plongeront dans la piscine du Coco à 500m. AAttention le Delta 1 ferry (DGT-SIQ) ça secoue et ça resecoue+ Pour Bohol j’ai pris le ferry Cebu-Getafe puis deux nuits à Anda sympa. Prochain Trip Camotes puis Bantayan next next next Camiguin et oui C’est le School break aux Philippines

En fait, plus je réfléchie, plus je me dis que les Visayas sont de trop : ce que je lis de Bohol ne m'inspire pas du tout -j'ai l'impression que c'est un peu une usine à touriste, non?- et Siquijor nécessite presque 2 jours de transport depuis palawan...
Alors je me dis, plutôt que de perdre ces 2 journées en transit, on aura largement de quoi s'occuper sur Palawan!

Attention L’île de Bohol est Grannnde presque la superficie de Bali et ne « reçoit » que 500'000 touristes par ans contre 5 millions à Phuket seul la partie Loboc-Chocolate Hills est touristique le reste de l’île est vraiment vraiment vraiment superbe « rizieres-jungles-collines- scènes rurales » Bon à toi de voir J’adore Cebu et « oui la ville la nuit ! » j’ai été impressionné à Palawan super super bien aimé Bohol « l’intérieur pas la rivière Loboc» mais pour moi c’est facile j’aime les Philippines, à bientôt ici
C'est vrai que je me base sur mon expérience en Thaïlade : nous avons été conquis par le nord du pays, mais, en arrivant dans la région de Phuket, nous avons eu eu vrai choc... et une vrai déception! Partir à l'autre bout du monde pour se retrouver sur la côte d'Azur, c'est un peu frutrant!!! Du coup, on s'est éloigné vers Lipe et Bullon, et on a pas été déçu de notre choix.
Donc pour les Phils, je me dis que ça sera dommage de quitter Palawan, faire le trajet jusqu'à Bohol, et se retrouver dans un endroit qui ne nous plait pas.
Maintenant, je dois t'avouer que, vu mon niveau d'anglais déplorable (!!!), je n'ai peut-être pas saisie toutes les opportunités qu'offrait cette île à la lecture des guides. Ce que tu m'en dis ravive ma curiosité. En effet, je cherche vraiment une île qui puisse nous offrir tous les plaisirs de la mer (plage, snok, plongée, etc) et de la terre ("exploration" en moto, petite rando, cascade, rencontres avec les villagois, etc.)
Non suis à Cebu c’est Jeudi Saint et tout est fermé ici aux Phil si tu veux des conseils pour le tout hors des sentiers battus essaye de contacter Jo à ilesevasion.com c’est presque mon Papa guide ici et il connaît les Phil comme ça poche et même plus bon bon bye à vous

pourquoi éviter les calamians;groupe d' iles paradisiaques de toute beauté qui comprend entre autre Busuanga, Coron island et Culion island, pour les plus importantes.
Rien que coron island avec ses lacs;kayagan lake et barakuda lake vaut a elle seule le détour.
Busuanga est trés sauvage et prendre quelques jours sur place et essayer de faire le tour en moto peut etre super sympathique:dépaysement garantit, des villages isolés et des plages désertes.A partir de là pourquoi pas un tour à Dimakya island et Sangat island.
En ce qui concerne Palawan, la destination devient trés touristique;surtout El nido;
Que de changement depuis MARS 2006, date de ma première visite, l'endroit reste sympatique malheuresement un peu trop de resorts ont été construits en bout de plage.
De passage en Fevrier 2009, on parlait français dans tous les coins!!! Ce kho lanta............dommage, l'endroit était sauvage et pour y parvernir la route était déplorable et trés longue !Maintenant depuis puerto Princessa la route est presque du billard.
La circulation à PUERTO devient épouvantable..........
Il est vrai que l'archipel de bacuit a conservé sa beauté;ses lagoons, ses plages, ses coraux et la variété de sa faune marine et une eau d'une rare clareté...........Paysages et qualité de l'eau que l'on retrouve autour de Coron island dans une ambiance plus calme .
La traversée entre les Calamian et el nido est de toute beauté entre les iles ;Eh oui moyenne 8 heures de mer!!
Le jesabel 2 l'effectue sans problème et une grosse partie se fait sous le vent des nombreuses iles et dans certains endroits la mer peut etre un peu agitée............ce n'est pas la traversée du raz de sein par force 8.
Par beau temps c'est un régal agité par mer formée mais jamais une horreur.

C’est mon 1er séjour aux Phils et tu as bien super super raison Navigator dépêchez vous d’aller à Busuanga car avec la construction du nouveau 600 chambres Resort Bayan tree la vie ne sera jamais la même à Coron mais il reste 7'000 autres îles .bon pour la semaine prochaine vais à Camotes puis un petit saut à ton coup de cœur Bantayan Bye bye et oui c'est 600 chambres

A ce propos un grand bonjour de la part de Philippe à sa fille qui sert d'hotesse à bord et sert les boissons ;mon amie Jevelyn .
Ce meme captain possède deux autres bangkas et organise des ballades sur bacuit archipel;small lagoon, big lagoon, snake island, helicoper island, miniloc, 7th commando beach au départ de EL NIDO.
possibilité d'organise un barbecue de poissons avec salade tropicale sur la plage de Miniloc.
Le contacter à sa maison : au milieu de la plage ou dans la rue centrale d'EL NIDO, sa femme y tient une épicerie.
Pour ton ordinateur et te faire patienter quelques photos.
En ce qui concerne Bohol vas y une prochaine fois, c'est super aussi et un excellent point de départ depuis Panglao pour Balicasag et Pailmacan island super spots de plongée et snorkeling.
A ne pas oublier sur Coron les épaves japonaises de la guerre du pacifique et les fermes marines pour la culture des perles.

Encore une dernière question et après, j'arrête de t'embêter 😛: la liason peut-elle se faire égalment dans le sens El Nido > Coron? Dans ce cas là, sais-tu ou il faut réserver? Est-ce que les départs sont fixés à l'avance ou le capitaine attend-t-il que son bateau soit rempli pour prendre la mer?

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

For those familiar with SOUTHEAST ASIA, I'm planning to leave in mid-June (with the trip ending at the latest in November), and I don’t have a precise idea of exact places or itineraries yet. The thing is, this period is usually the rainy season...
Any advice? I was thinking of Malaysia or Indonesia, like Sulawesi, for example (all countries and islands in Southeast Asia interest me except Bali).
Any recommendations? I’m doing my research online, but if anyone here has the time and knowledge, I’d love to hear from you.
My partner and I are planning a trip to Indonesia in September-October 2026. My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?

Thanks for all your contributions on the forum—they’ve really helped me plan my trip. There are four of us friends heading to Sulawesi for 20 days. Based on all your advice, I’ve put together the following itinerary:
July 30: Makassar – sightseeing
July 31: Makassar – sightseeing + overnight bus to Rantepao
August 1–7: Tana Toraja with a guide
August 7: Tana Toraja to Tentena + visit Tentena
August 8: Early departure with a private driver to Ampana, then ferry to the Togian Islands
August 9–15: Togian Islands (2 different resorts)
August 15: Depart Togian Islands for Luwuk
August 16: Flight Luwuk to Makassar
August 17: Rammang Rammang
August 18: Stroll in Makassar, then return home
Overall, what do you think?
I also have a question about the connection between Tentena and the Togian Islands: Is it doable to leave early in the morning as planned and still be sure not to miss the ferry?

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...
