Nous allons passer 4 jours au philippines fin Sept (arrivée à Manille) et je souhaitais connaitre quelles sont les principales iles à faire d'après vous.
Nous recherchons des coins assez naturel, avec belles plages, criques, .. bref des endroits beaux et pas remplis de touriste.
De plus sachant que c'est la période des pluies y a t'il des endroits plus ou moins exposés d'après vous?
Quel mode de transport est à privilégier depuis manille (avion, bateau, train, ...)?

Je suis tout a fait d accord avec le message precedent: 4 jours c est tres peu.
Vous devriez, a mon avis, vous concentrez sur une ile afin de ne pas perdre trop de temps en deplacements (oubliez le bateau).
Boracay pour le fun, le nord Palawan, Bohol, Cebu...ou Mindoro qui est l ile la plus proche de Manille et qui ne necessite pas l avion. Les sites de plongee, plages et criques desertes y sont nombreuses. Et pas trop touristique a cette saison.
La saison des pluies ne doit pas vous arreter. Elle s etend sur plusieurs mois et les mois les plus secs sont mars/avril/mai et juin. Mais meme en saison des pluies, il s agit plus d averses que de deluge incessant (sauf si un typhon se ballade dans le coin).

4 jours? c'est beaucoup de trajet pour visiter un pays qui demande plusieurs années.
J'en suis à mon 4 eme séjour de 45 jours chaque!
il faudra te résoudre à procéder par élimination compte tenu de la longueur des transports.
J'ai quelques idées:un voyage aller retour Manille par avion sur une ile accessible par avion
D'abord éliminne LUZON :
impossible de faire quelques choses d-interressant en 4 jours sauf taal lake, tagatay, pasanujuan falls au galop (2jours de cars aller retour à prévoir) et oublier rices terasses Bontoc /BAGUIO.
Eliimine aussi Palawan:Tu ne pourras avoir le temps de voir quelques chose de bien compte tenu des trajets intérieurs ou bien il restte une possibilité de prendre le petit coucou Depuis Manille pour El nido a condition de trouver de la place et de payer fort cher.
Oublier Boracay avec les transferts cars , bateau à prévoir, plus d'avion direct Caticlan cebu pacific .Boracay est pas trés représentative de l'ambiance réelle aux philppines
Mes deux solutions en foction du temps à condition de réserver l'avion aller retour avant de partir:
NORD : Manille/BUSUANGA /CORON:trajet de 45 minutes d'avion et une heure jeepney ou van pour coron city.le lendemain faire un parcours autour coron island dépaysement garantit, avoir en fonction du temps, maisc'est mieux que Palawan.
Surtout si plongeur en plus.
Coron et les iles aux alentours une merveille
SUD; 4 jours aux visayas ;compte tenu de la présence d'un aéroport bien placé:BOHOL séjournér a Panglao et visite en bangka autour de Balicasay et pamilacan , et peut etre chocolate hills avant de repartir sur Manillle
Voilà!! ce sera speed mais faisable de plus en général les visays plus au sud sont plus ensoleillées à cette période de l'année
La meilleur solution est certainement celles des Visayas!
Le transport en commun est y plus dévéloppé qu'ailleurs.
Bohol et Panglao sont reliés par un pont ( enfin deux) et Cebu n'est qu'à 3 heures de Bateau. De plus tu auras la possibilté d'aller à Mactan le berceau du Christianisme en Asie et voir la Statue de Lapu-lapu, l'homme qui tua Magellan.
Je pense qu'une arrivée sur Cebu te fera gagner du temps. La visite de la ville se fait en une journée. Puis tu pourras toujours aller te baigner à Mactan en fin d'après midi.
Il existe des bateaux qui partent de Cebu la nuit pour arrivée à Bohol le lendemain matin (peu cher et sympa mais attention si tu n'es pas habitué à dormir dans un endroit un petit peu bruyant, ne le fait pas) sinon passe la nuit à Cebu et prend le premier fastcraft le lendemain matin.
Une fois arrivée à Bohol vas en direction de Panglao Island à Alona beach. Là bas tu y trouveras des chambre d'hôtel pas cher et la plage y est sympa.
Si tu aimes la plongée, tu pourras le faire le jour même sinon je te conseille d'aller te baigner sur la plage de Bohol Beach Club. L'entrée y est payante mais tu as un petit repas offert avec une boisson et l'endroit y est garder (enfin il y a un guardien). Tu pourras bénéficier de leur équipments ( toilettes, wc, douche).
Le soir même tu pourras manger à côté de ton hôtel à Alona Beach. Les poissons sont frais et un repas ne devrait pas te couter plus de 5 euros avec le bruit de la mer comme bruit du fond.
Je te conseille d'aller manger Oops Bar. Ils peuvent te trouver un chauffeur pour faire une journée de visite guidée à Bohol pour le lendemain. Demande leur de faire venir le chauffeur à 8-9 heure du matin comme ça tu pourras revenir sur Panglao.
Puis pour ton dernier jour tu pourras faire de la plongée ou du snorkling et repartir en fin d'après-midi.
Il y a un aéroport à Bohol donc si tu dois retourner à Manille tu pourras le faire depuis Bohol.
Je pense que ce teaser n'est pas mal pour un aussi court séjour aux Philippines.

belle défense , surtout une ile qui se mérite Bantayan!!!!, avec une journée de repos à Hilantaga-an island et virgin island!! pour silloner les coraux et plonger dans le sanctuary fish.
Un peu court en 4 jours:Avion :Manille/Cebu et car climatisé CERES LINERS jusqu'a hagnaya et puis bateau pour Santa fee sur bantayan!!! ..................................
mais possible; surtout une jolie ile pleine de charme et de paysages diversifiés.
Oublier la visite de Cebu city et Mactan perte d'une journée et pas nécessaire pour un séjour de 4 jours ;trop de béton sur la zone portuaire de Cebu et circulation intense sur Mactan là ou se trouve l'aeroport de Cebu city .
(Si choix pour Bohol ne pas passer par cebu city: avion direct Tagbilaran sur Bohol:rapidité oblige en 4 jours c 'est bcp trop court de prendre du temps pour visiter Cebu City qui n'est pas d'une architecture remarquable, 3 points interessants:le fort Santiago, Santo nino church et le temple Taoiste)
.A moins d'etre admirateur du chef lapu lapu (pas le poisson) et du santo nino que vous retrouverez suspendu au rétroviseur dans toutes les voitures cebuanas.
La visite des iles et la rencontre avec les iliens en 4 jours est préférable .
Faudra faire un choix........ou louper l' avion de retour pour manille.
4 jours c'est une journée de trajet et implantation aller, de meme au retour et c'est deux jours pour visiter sur place.
Ce n'est pas extensible et les trajets en transport en commun pour le trajet aller/retour Manille/Visayas sont longs en distance: donc à éviter les plus lents si possible:choix obligatoire avion direct depuis manillle pour les visayas .

Nous savons que c'est peu mais nous faisons un périple de 10jours seulement dont 6 en chine et ils ne nous restent que 4 jours pour Les Philippines mais on aimerait bien y revenir l'année prochaine.
Penses tu que malgré la saison des pluies le temps sera assez bien pour profiter de la plage et des visites (on y sera du 4 au 8 octobre à priori).
De plus dans les sites que tu décries y a t il des chutes d'eau ou des rivières souterraines, il parait que c'est magnifique?
bohol est facile d'acces et les routes de l'ile sont bonnes , en 4 jours je fais voir pas mal de choses en bateau moto et van a mes clients c'est des journees bien remplies

pour ce qui est du temps, les philippines est un pays tropical donc tu ne pas droit à des journées de pluies interminables comme en Inde ou en Thailande.
il pourrait très pleuvoir 1/5 d'heure en fin de journée mais jamais toute la journée à cette période là de l'année.
pour ce qu'est de rivières souterraines, les meilleurs site sonts certainement ceux de Palawan.
il y a une belle balade sur Loboc River à Bohol sinon sur Cebu il y a Kawasan Falls.
Puis si tu veux voir des belles chutes il y a aussi Siquijor qui n'est vraiment pas loin de Cebu et Bohol.

A la vue des différentes réponses je pense qu'on va opter pour les vilayas : bohol+ile de panglao
2 questions : est ce que ca vaut le coup de faire 1 journée à Manille? est ce intéressant à visiter?
Quel est le prix moyen pour un vol manille-tagbilaran A/R? Sur certains sites ils parlent de quelques dizaines d'euros mais en faisant une simulation on est à 150 EUR A/R avec philippines airlines. Y a t il d'autres compagnies aériennes?

J"ai l'impression que la liaison HK-Tagbilaran n'est pas très développé et coute cher.
Il y a des choses à voir à manille entre autre manila Ocean Park superbe aquarium marin, le quartier chinois, intramuros, les bouitiques d'art chinois, art philippin, les malls pour les empletttes, malate, makati Robinson place , SM, mall of asia , :3eme malll au monde;le quatier chinois ect.......... dépend du temps dont tu disposes
et la vie nocturne à manillle est sympa :de bons resto et orchestre, mes philipppins sont d'excellent musiciens et les discos à voir.
Il ne faut pas etre trop catégorique avec manillle.
En ce qui concerne les liaisons depuis hk seul Manille, clark , davao et Cebu sont des aéroports internationaux donc si tu fais HK tagbiliran sur bohol tu passeras Nécessairement par Mactan airport;l'aéroport de Cebu island.
L'avion ne coute pas cher aux phils environ 2000/2500 php voire moins pour tout vol intérieur.Le vol HK/manillle dure 2 h et 3H pour cebu/mactan airport.
le moins cher est de passer par manillle en général ou utiliser, si posssible depuis HK Cebu pacific qui est une compagnie low coast qui utilise des avions récents:(Airbus A 320 et A 330), autre compagnie low coast :zest air/asian spirit depuis Manillle.
La compagnie nationale Philippines airlines est aussi compétitive.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

The ones I had in mind seem to be fully booked (unless it’s too early?). For those familiar with the area, is it easy to find accommodations on the spot in January/February? I’m specifically looking for hotels with a pool, beachfront, air conditioning, and easy scooter rental nearby. Thanks for your tips!

For those familiar with SOUTHEAST ASIA, I'm planning to leave in mid-June (with the trip ending at the latest in November), and I don’t have a precise idea of exact places or itineraries yet. The thing is, this period is usually the rainy season...
Any advice? I was thinking of Malaysia or Indonesia, like Sulawesi, for example (all countries and islands in Southeast Asia interest me except Bali).

My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?

Thanks for all your contributions on the forum—they’ve really helped me plan my trip. There are four of us friends heading to Sulawesi for 20 days. Based on all your advice, I’ve put together the following itinerary:
July 30: Makassar – sightseeing
July 31: Makassar – sightseeing + overnight bus to Rantepao
August 1–7: Tana Toraja with a guide
August 7: Tana Toraja to Tentena + visit Tentena
August 8: Early departure with a private driver to Ampana, then ferry to the Togian Islands
August 9–15: Togian Islands (2 different resorts)
August 15: Depart Togian Islands for Luwuk
August 16: Flight Luwuk to Makassar
August 17: Rammang Rammang
August 18: Stroll in Makassar, then return home
Overall, what do you think?
I also have a question about the connection between Tentena and the Togian Islands: Is it doable to leave early in the morning as planned and still be sure not to miss the ferry?

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...
