Hi there,

I’m spending 4 days in Kuala Lumpur.

Could you let me know what’s absolutely worth visiting and what’s not really worth the effort?

Any suggested itinerary?

Apart from Batu Caves, I don’t have many ideas...

I’m traveling with my partner and our 16-year-old son.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hey,

It’s not the most exciting city, so 4 days might be a bit much. Must-sees: the KLCC district with the Petronas Towers (go in the evening for the water fountain show), the climb up Menara Tower and a walk in the Eco Forest, Merdeka Square, Chinatown and the Mariamman Temple, and an evening at Jalan Alor.

Grab a Lonely Planet guide "KL in a Few Days"

Have a great trip

Thanks for your feedback! :)

After that, I might spend a day in Malacca instead.

Hey! Don’t waste your time in KL unless you're hitting up the malls like Plaza Imbi for shopping. There’s Jalan Petaling in Chinatown with lots of stalls selling counterfeit goods—just watch out for customs when you head back to France 😉 Other than the Petronas Towers, there’s not much else. You’d be better off spending your time in Melaka. One day isn’t enough—this city deserves at least two. Melaka is kind of the gem of Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
