Recommendation for a driver in Rajasthan / Delhi / Agra

Hi,

I traveled to India and Nepal in March 2024 and hired a driver through an online agency. No issues—the agency was great, nothing to complain about—but it turns out that booking directly with the driver is much cheaper. Based on my conversations with him, I’m not paid or commissioned in any way; I’m just sharing this to help you save some money and recommend a good driver. So don’t hesitate to DM me if you want his contact info. I’m doing this for you and for the driver, who’d also prefer to keep a little more of the margin instead of it going to the agency.

I used his services for 10 days, and I can only recommend him—he was my guardian angel in India, gave great advice, was super reliable, and very professional. So feel free to ask me for his contact if you’re interested; otherwise, no worries! ^^

Here’s my trip if you’re curious :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello, We had an excellent trip around Rajasthan with Arif Khan. It was our first journey, and we found a really great driver for Rajasthan—he was super friendly. He reviewed our itinerary and gave us suggestions without being pushy, which is why we chose him. He provided good hotel recommendations and helped us book a safari in Sariska.

He was waiting for us as planned at the airport. He was really thoughtful, giving us water and making sure we were okay.

A few examples: Sometimes we had to reach the hotel by tuk-tuk (planned and paid for by him), and he would message us to check if we’d arrived safely. In crowded places, he’d warn us to watch our belongings.

He also suggested stops along the way, like visiting a temple or a baori between cities. He accompanied us during moments when it was difficult for us to be alone and figure out what to do. Arif introduced us to local specialties and stopped so we could take photos in beautiful spots.

Rajasthan is stunning, but to truly enjoy every moment and make the most of your visit, we highly recommend having a skilled driver like Arif by your side!

He’s not just a professional driver with years of experience—he’s honest, reliable, and funny. He genuinely cares about the safety and comfort of his passengers. Plus, his car is clean and comfortable.

He definitely helped make our trip to Rajasthan an unforgettable experience!

From a driving perspective, he made us feel really safe in the car, which is pretty exceptional in India. We had an incredible trip in India, and having Arif with us was a huge asset. I’d highly recommend him—anyone planning a trip to Rajasthan in the future can contact him without hesitation. I’m sure you’ll receive great service.

happy travels!!!

Hello, I’m looking for a good driver for a 5-day tour starting from New Delhi. Could you give me the contact info for your driver? Was he French-speaking? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hi, Could you let me know how to contact your driver? Thanks in advance for your reply

Sure, I’ll send it to you as soon as I get home from work 😊

Yes, so his name is Rawat, and you can contact him directly on WhatsApp at this number +91 98108 79241 or by email: rawatdilwarsingh@gmail.com.

On a personal note, I’m available on my mobile at 06 83 54 48 74 if you want more info about my experience or anything else—my first name is Jerome, that’s it! ^^

Just to repeat, I don’t earn anything at all—I’m just spreading the word about a driver I spent 15 amazing days with. He’s super friendly, super professional, and that’s it! ^^ I’m not commissioned or anything :p It’s just that I paid way more by going through an agency, which cost me money and him too. This way is better for everyone, and if I’m doing this, it’s because my trip to India will really stay etched in my memory, partly thanks to him! :p

Best regards :)

Thank you sooo much! I’ll message him tomorrow morning—is he English-speaking? French-speaking? How much did you pay for your trip? We’re 2 people and only want to do Delhi/Agra/Jaipur

Well, he’s English-speaking, but even with my basic English it went smoothly :p No, he doesn’t speak French. I booked a package for 12 days.

Here’s your itinerary from 15/03 to 27/03/24 15/03 – Airport transfer Air India AI142 on March 15th at 8:10 AM Delhi Mandawa Bikaner and Deshnok Jaisalmer Jodhpur Ranakpur Kumbhalgarh Udaipur Chittorgarh Bundi Jaipur Amber Abhaneri Fatehpur Sikri Agra, end of the trip PRICE FOR THE VEHICLE WITH DRIVER: 55,000 rupees

He works all over northern India, so Delhi, Agra, Jaipur too. But keep in mind that this price is for 12 days, and you’re not going through an agency that takes a commission. I assume your trip is 5/6 days—the distances aren’t the same, and you won’t be using an agency. The best thing is really to talk to him directly; I can’t tell you ^^ but that’s his area of activity ^^ so check with him :p

Hi Jérôme, I got in touch with Rawat, who can do this tour, apparently privately, but in that case, is it with his own vehicle? And does he have the necessary insurance? Thanks in advance for your reply. Régine

Well, I have no idea about that, so you’ll have to ask him. If you want to be sure to have all possible insurance, etc., and want something conventional, I used "chauffeureninde.com". You can always contact them and ask to work with him, but in that case, you’ll definitely pay more, and he’ll earn less, but you’ll have the assurance of a structured organization to turn to if something goes wrong for any reason. If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t go through an agency because the fees are really high compared to direct contact :) I didn’t have that option at the time, which is why I posted this. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do. I recommend a trustworthy, serious, and great driver. It’s your call, but I encourage you to ask him about insurance if you go directly through him, etc. I don’t know anything about that :)
CA Cacemma ·
Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply. I sent a message to Rawat to let him know we’re good to go with him. Since then, no news! Do you think we can really count on him? I’m hesitating to book another one just in case he bails! If you have a minute, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

he told me his email wasn’t valid anymore, so contact him on WhatsApp (if you happened to reach out by email). If you contacted him on WhatsApp, he’ll reply—don’t worry, just give him a little time. I’m telling you, he’s not the kind of guy who scams; he was totally straight with me from A to Z. That said, since you don’t know him, you’re basing this only on what I’m telling you, and I can’t prove he’s trustworthy ^^—just my experience :) I’ll say it again: it’s up to you, but for me, yeah, he’s really honest and reliable ^^
CA Cacemma ·
Okay, I’ll contact him on WhatsApp and go with your experience. Thanks a lot!
LA Lagoonsblue5 Regular ·
if you don’t have WhatsApp, you’ll need it anyway because in India everything goes through that app :p

Saying Jérôme is a friend seems to be the magic word to get answers! So I think I’ll take advantage of that during our trip 😊 Thanks again for everything
