avec 3 amis on à trouver un aller retour paris oslo du 19 au 22 decembre mais voila, la vie est assez chère là bas, on aimerais bien en profiter sans se ruiner non plus
l'aeroport est celui de torp a environ 1h20 au sud d'oslo et notre vol arrive à 20h et on a peur de ne pas pouvoir arriver à l'auberge de jeunesse d'oslo qui ferme a 23h30 l'hiver !mais cet hotel d'oslo est le seul qui coute pas trop cher(25 euros)
on aimerais faire au moins un fjord et peutètre visiter aussi la ville d'oslo ;mais si vous avez des idées sympas, pas trop loin et pas trop cher, ça peut être cool !j'ai entendu dire que le fjord le moins loin est celui de sandefjord, non?

Comment avez-vous prévu de voyager? Train ou voiture? Je ne vois que le train de 21 h 40 qui puisse vous convenir et il arrive à 23 h 28... donc surement trop tard. Effectivement, Sandefjord est tout près mais il est petit et n'a pas l'air de présenter d'intérêt particulier mais c'est le seul (avec celui d'Oslo) qu'il doit être possible d'atteindre rapidement.
Il y a une auberge de jeunesse à Tonsberg qui n'est pas loin de l'aéroport, cela pourrait être la solution pour la première nuit et en plus la ville a l'air super sympa.

le sognefjord est le fjord digne de ce nom le plus proche, celui qui commence à Bergen.
mais franchement, je me demande si vous aurez le temps en 3 jours...car Oslo est sur le coté est de la norvège et les fjords du coté ouest...
Oslo est une ville sympa avec plein de très beaux musées, parcs, et excursions dans les environs accessibles par le métro.Largement de quoi s'occuper 3 jours.
Sinon, si vous insistez, le site du syndicat d'initiative propose une excursion "norway in a nutshell", en train entre Oslo et Bergen, mais je ne sais pas si ce sera possible en décembre, car certains cols seront fermés.
Je vais passer 3 jours à Oslo (du 20 au 23) et 3 jours à Stockholm (du 24 au 26) (2 adultes et 2 ados).

OUI les rues sont vides le jour de Noël: les scandinaves sont les plus avancés socialement d'europe et en voila la preuve: le jour de Noël tout est fermé, et la veille, les magasins ferment plus tôt, pour permettre aux employés de préparer noël! pas comme chez nous où ca ferme plus tard pour permettre aux clients de faire leurs achats jusqu'à la dernière minute!
j'ai passé le noël 2006 à Oslo et je peux en parler. il parait que Stockholm est plus animé, mais surement pas le jour même!
Donc: vous me dites que vous partez en famille..quel âge ont les enfants?
Olso: je recommande les musées de la presqu'ile de Bygdoy/ le musée de la Fram (bateau d'explration polaire, on peut monter à bord, c'est très chouette), le musée du Kon-Tiki (l'expedition de Thor heyerdhal), le folkemuséeum, où il y a souvent des animations, danses folkloriques, vente de crèpes locales, ce genre de truc qui plait bien aux enfants.Le musée des bateaux vikings est bien aussi, quoique moins spectaculaire que celui de Roskilde au Danemark.
A faire absolument: aller voir le tremplin de saut à ski (holmenkollen) par le métro, dont une partie est aérienne.De la haut, vue imprenable sur le fjord d'oslo, et quand la lunière baisse (à 15h en hiver), c'est magique. Si vous continuez jusqu'au dernier arret, il y a un resto extraordinaire, pas cher (selon les normes locales), une architecture extra, on se croirait chez les vikings.Ah oui, j'ai oublié le musée du ski en bas du Holmenkollen.
A oslo même, le parc de Vigeland, avec ses statues (frognerpark) ( à faire un jour où le reste est fermé)
pour les amateurs d'art contemporain: le musée Munch.Peut être pas avec les enfants.
enfin une balade sur le quai de Aker Brigge vaut le coup, ainsi que la dégustation d'une soupe de poisson des îles Lofoten, si vous êtes en fond: et en terrasse, si, c'est possible;emmitouflé des couvertures fournies par le restaurant!
si possible, choisir un hotel sur Karl Johann gate, plus central, et à Noêl, il n'y a pas beaucoup de touristes, donc même le Grand Hotel fait des promos.
Pour le shopping, c'est cette rue.(je recommande le Glassmagasinet)
enfin, vous aurez compris, j'adore Oslo, j'y suis allé plusieurs fois, et cela m'étonne toujours de lire que Stockholm est tellement plus belle.
pour moi, bof:urbanisation dingue et pollution maxi.
à Stockholm, le musée d'art contemporain est très bien, ainsi que le musée Wasa, qui expose un énorme bateau qui a coulé le jour de son lancement. C'est un peu en doublon avec le musée de la Fram à Oslo, choisissez en un.
Tous les détails des jours et heures de fermetures de ces musées sont à vérifier soigneusement avant de partir sur leur propre site, ils en ont tous un, ou sur visitoslo.no ou visitstockholm.se.Attention aux fermetures le lendemain et la veille de noël, le programme est à préparer à l'avance!
c'est pourquoi si possible, trouver un hotel avec une piscine couverte permet de se détendre agréablement quand rien n'est ouvert.
Pour le trajet depuis l'aéroport Torp, je n'y suis arrivée qu'une fois, et nous avons loué une voiture pour le séjour.
Pour le transfert olso stockholm, le train peut être une option, mais vu le peu de temps que vous restez, l'avion est plus interessant: voyez les compagnies low cost. Ou même SAS.

Je ne vous cache pas que je suis un peu perdu car je viens de changer mes dates (entre 22/12 et 27/12 - contraintes billet d'avion)
du 22 au 24 à Stockholm et du 25 au 27 à Oslo.
Mais je découvre que le 25 et le 26 tout est fermé dans Stockholm et dans Oslo (2 jours fériés). Pourriez-vous me confirmer que tout est fermé?.

pour mémoire, le restaurant tout au bout de la ligne principale de métro, celle qui s'arrète au Holmenkollen, s'appelle frognerseteren restaurant: cuisine sympa norvégienne, self service, batiment viking et vue imprenable sur le fjord d'Oslo.Belles balades dans les environs.Prévoir de bonnes chaussures bien isolées.

Je reprends ici une partie d'une réponse que j'avais faite à une question similaire posée sur ce même forum. En fonction de l'âge de tes enfants, ça t'intéressera peut-être :
"Si tu aimes le ski de fond ou alpin, il y des pistes à portée de métro (Tryvann). C'est pas les Alpes mais pour une journée ça peut être sympa. les pistes sont éclairées. En montant à frognerseteren en métro, tu peux aussi louer une luge pour une demi journée par exemple, descendre la piste (port du casque recommandé!!), reprendre le métro en bas de la piste et recommencer autant que tu veux. Moi, j'ai 35 ans : sur la piste je passe pour un vieux mais ça empêche pas de se marrer. A frognerseteren, tu as un super resto/bar en architecture tradi avec super vue sur le fjord et excellent gâteau aux pommes à la crème : http://www.frognerseteren.no/. Goûter aussi au vin chaud local, le gløg."
Bon j'ai vérifié le resto est fermé les 24 et 25. Pour louer des luges ça risque d'être pareil. Si ça vous tente vous pouvez essayer d'acheter des petites galettes en plastique en vente dans les magasins de sport pour une vingtaine de couronnes.
Le réponse de Nadine est effectivement pleine de de bons conseils. Moi, ça fait plus de 10 ans que je fête noël dans ma belle famille à Oslo. Noël en Norvège, c'est vraiment magique quand on peut le partager avec l'habitant.
J'y serai du à partir du 20 décembre avec ma famille (mes enfants ont respectivement 3 ans et 6 mois). Pour tout conseil une fois sur place, si tu veux mon n° de téléphone norvégien, demande-le moi en message privé.

Avec mes amis nous allons à Oslo du 18 au 21 ! Presque comme vous héhé ! On arrive à Torp aussi, vous avez trouvé des bons plans pour votre séjour? Pour l'hotel on va au Anker Hostel (sauf le samedi) donc on y vous verra ptet le dimanche si vous voulez qu'on fasse un truc ça pourrait être fun.
Donc si vous repérez un groupe de français (5 mec + 1 fille ) criez "Grüten Dochen !" ce qui ne veut probablement rien dire en norvégien...
Malheureusement, nous ne serons pas à Oslo à la même période (entre le 25 et le 27).

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
