Je suis une Québécoise de 19 ans est je songe passer un semestre à l'Université de Lausanne à compter de janvier 2013. J'ai été séduite par la région lémanique durant mes vacances estivales et j'ai très, très hâte d'y retourner. Avant de me lancer dans l'aventure, j'aimerais me renseigner sur les logements...
1. Serait-il possible de loger (moyennant un loyer) dans une famille d'accueil ? Mes recherches ont été décevantes puisqu'il semble qu'il faut toujours s'inscrire à une école de langues ou un programme d'immersion linguistique... Peut-être avez-vous des pistes de solutions différentes ?
2. Comment connaître le nombre de pièces d'un logement ? Il semble qu'à Genève on compte (ou pas ?) la cuisine et je suis un peu confuse ! En fait, il se peut qu'une amie vienne aussi en Europe avec moi, donc pour un logement pour deux personnes (= 2 chambres, cuisine, WC, salon optionnel), devons-nous chercher un 2.5, 3 ou 3.5 pièces ? Quelles pièces comptent ou pas dans le calcul ? Et que signifie le 0,5 ? Les infos que j'ai pu trouver sur internet n'étaient pas vraiment claires... Et les colocations à plusieurs étudiants, c'est fréquent pour l'Uni de Lausanne ?
3. Y a-t-il des procédures spéciales concernant le loyer ? Par exemple, faut-il payer le premier et le dernier mois de loyer à l'avance ? Quels frais sont-ils compris ? Faut-il aussi payer certaines taxes ? Est-ce que l'électricité et le chauffage coûtent cher ?
4. Est-ce facile de signer un bail de 4 mois seulement ?
5. J'ai vu que certains loyers sont plus bas selon la saison. Un semestre de janvier à avril, ça chevauche un peu la haute saison d'hiver/ski, non ?
6. Est-ce que les logements sont moins dispendieux à Vevey ? Les villages en périphérie de Lausanne sont éloignés du centre, mais je crains de payer un loyer plus élevé parce qu'il semble y avoir de nombreux logements de villégiature/tourisme... est-ce vrai ?

Voilà
A Genéve on compte la cuisine, pas dans le canton de Vaud: donc à Genève un 4 pièces c'est 2 chambres salon et cuisine, à Lausanne c'est 3 chambres et salon. La salle de bains ne se compte pas. Si vous êtes inscrite à l'Uni de Lausanne ou à l EPFL vous pouvez faire une demande de chambre au service du logement de l'Unil. Ce sont des appartements en général de 4 chambres, 2 salles de bains et cuisine commune, on ne peut pas en bénéficier plus de 3 ans. On peut tout à fait louer pour un semestre. Il y a les colocations, ce n'est pas facile car en général les gens veulent vous voir avant de vous accepter. Il y a les chambres chez les particuliers, là rien d'organisé il faut chercher dans les petites annonces. Quant à trouver un appartement pour 4 mois, à moins de trouver une sous location, aucune régie ne vous fera un bail si court. Il faut verser une caution qui est entre 1 et 3 mois de loyer. restituée après l'état des lieux de sortie.le loyer se paye au début du mois. Dans une location( appartement de l'Unil ou par une régie) les charges(eau et chauffage) sont en général forfaitaires, par contre en colocation ou chez des particuliers je ne crois pas qu'il y ait des règles fixes. On vous demande en général de payer au prorata des pièces occupées, et des équipements abo internet, redevance TV- qui sera obligatoire en 2012 même si on en a pas), téléphone si mis à disposition etc. Je ne peux pas vous renseigner sur les loyers autour de Lausanne et VVevey comparés, mais n'oubliez alors pas le poste des transports.Regardez les offres d'immobilier sur www.immoscout24.ch par exemple pour vous faire une idée.

Vous pouvez loger chez quelqu'un dans une chambre, mais généralement réservées aux touristes, les chambres d'hôtes sont hors de prix ! Donc oui comme ça a été dit, si vous êtes seule c'est un 2 ou 2,5 pièces qu'il vous faudrait (salon et votre chambre). Si vous êtes deux, il faudrait donc un 3 ou 3,5 pièces. Le 0,5 compte en général si il y a un hall ou un couloir qui peut être meublé. Les colocations sont effectivement assez répandues sur Lausanne. Du moins, je connais pas mal de personnes de Paris qui sont venues à Lausanne et ont opté pour de la coloc. En général il y a le loyer + les charges à payer. De ce que j'ai eu affaire, c'est soit le loyer est bas mais les charges chères, soit c'est le contraire. Cependant, si les charges sont chères, de ce que j'ai connu également, on te rembourse la différence lorsque tu pars. Cependant, effectivement, pour un bail de 4 mois tu peux laisser tomber et d'ailleurs, es-tu sûr que venir sur Lausanne pour 4 mois vaut vraiment la peine? Autant venir une année ou 6 mois minimum à mon avis ! Pour ce qui est du loyer de saison, ça dépend des cas. Si c'est un appartement pour quelqu'un qui y habite et qui souhaite louer durant plusieurs années, non, les saisons ne changent rien. Après si c'est une chambre à louer pour des touristes, effectivement, ça peut varier. Sur vevey ça peut être moins chère, mais il faut l'AG (abonnement CFF) donc à voir si au final ça vient à moins chère... et de toute manière avant c'était comme ça: à Lausanne c'est chère, plus on s'éloigne moins ça l'est. Malheureusement c'est plus trop le cas (sauf si on s'éloigne de plusieurs dizaines de km). Pour te donner un exemple, ma mère habite à 4min en métro de l'université de Lausanne et elle paie 950 CHF par mois charges comprises avec un parking. (une cuisine, une salle de bain wc, une chambre, un salon avec balcon et une cave. Buanderie gratuite).
En tout cas, je te souhaite de venir ici. J'ai des amis qui sont venus (de Paris comme dit) étudier cette année et en sont très contents de leur études (mais pas de la vie Lausannoise pour tous cependant..).

En fait, j'ai dit 4 mois parce que c'est la durée d'un semestre universitaire; j'avais l'intention de rester à Lausanne ou les environs pour cette période de temps, puis ensuite voyager en Suisse et dans les pays voisins. Je ne peux pas rester une année pour des raisons multiples :/
