Je pars en Thailande dans 10 jours, et je voudrais connaitre le mailleur endroit pour acheter des vêtements à Bangkok. C'est mon deuxième voyage et l'année dernière je n'avais pas eu le temps de m'interesser à ce genre de choses tellement ce pays est riche en découvertes.
Je connais le week end market, mais cette fois je cherche plutôt des centre commerciaux pour acheter des VRAIS produits, surtout des vêtements.
MBK, Futur Park, The Emporium... lequel est le meilleur pour les vêtements ?
Sur les marchés tu n'as pas que des copies!! tu peux trouver de très bon produit (ex: T-Shirt, sous vétements) si tu n'achète pas de marque. Tu connais le "week end market" qui est à mon gout un peut trop touristique. A Bangkok vas jeter un oeil au Pratunam market (autour du Bayok tower), c'est ouvert tous les jours (n'hésite pas à t'engoufrer dans les petites ruelles!!).
Au MBK tu vas trouver des vetements de bonne qualité et des vétements de marque qui sont à peine moins cher que chez nous (par exemple une certaine marque de Jean's🙂)

En tous cas c'est clair que si les prix ne sont pas vraiment plus bas, ça ne sert à rien.

Je ne parlais que d'une certaine marque de Jean's (la plus connue 😛) pour d'autre marque je ne m'y suis pas interressé donc je ne peux te répondre. Sur les marchés tu trouves cette marque de Jean's pour 3 à 4 euros mais c'est des copies alors qu'en magasin se sont des vrais😉 et le prix est proche de celui qu'on a en France.
Je pense que pour les autres marques cela doit être pareil car les magasins passent par des fournisseurs de la marque. Tu gagnes un peux grâce au change et à la TVA.
Je voulais emporter un minimu de vêtements dans mon sac pour acheter sur place.
Donc des t-shirts, des pantalons des shorts... après pour décrire, c'est difficile, c'est débile comme terme, mais on va dire "streetwear"...
Mais je cherchais plutot des marques, à la limite si c'est des faux mais de bonne qualité, je suis pas contre.
Sinon, je cherches aussi des baskets, nike, adidas etc... si c'est trouvable...
Si vous avez des ordres de prix à comparer avec la France ça me donnera une idée...
J' ai fait plusieurs fois les grands centres commerciaux de Bangkok et j' ai l' impression que certaines grandes marques de vetements, victimes de la contrefaçon, "boycottent" Bangkok. Exemple : je n' ai jamais vu de boutique "officielle" pour Ralph Lauren-Polo Sport ainsi que pour Tommy Hilfiger alors que ces deux grandes marques sont généralement présentes dans toutes les capitales du monde.
C'est rigolo, Polo Ralph Lauren et Tommy Hilfiger, ça m'a jamais manqué..... 😉
Mon endroit préféré pour le shopping, c'est MBK. En faisant toutes les petites boutiques et en regardant chaque chose, on peut y passer plusieurs jours.
Siam Square (en particulier par l'accès depuis MBK) c'est pas mal aussi. Si tu cherches des vrais trucs de vraies marques, alors plutot Siam Center et Siam Discovery Center, voire Emporium (cher!)....

Je confirme que le MBK est un vrai temple de la consommation a lui tout seul. le quartier national stadium aussi d'ailleur.
et pour y avoir passée bcp de temps 😛, le Mbk est de loin le best seller des centre commerciaux avec AC !!! il y a de tout! et si je ne me trompe aps c'est certainement ce que disent la première fois bon nombre de visiteur!
les fringues y sont bcp bcp moin cher. copie bien sur mais tres bon marché...j'en porte encore plein! (je n'y suis pas allée pour ca, mais avant de partir...j'ai fais le plein!)
les jeans aussi sont pas mal. et bien moin cher...normal ce sont des copies. je n'encourage pas ce type de commerce, mais en thailande il est difficile de passer à coté...et de faire sans.
je n'ai pas vu de "certaine marque" de jean à des prix equilavent ceux de la france.
quand on sait le prix d'un diesel (160 euros en moyenne) et celui de thailande qui est de moin bonne qualité mais assez bien coupé et bien fichu...on est tenté (meme si c'est pas mon dada).
alors sans hesiter, oui le MBK. pour les fringues, lunettes, coiffeurs😛, chaussures...sushis, donuts...oishi green tea...bREF !!!! Un temple!!!!
ensuite on peut tjr fouiner dans les ruelles, Bangkok en regorge.
il y a 15 ans .. m.Lacoste est venu en délégation pour dénoncer la copie et donner un coup dans la fourmilière .. bien sur il a vu M faux lacoste .. ils on discuter .. a voir la qualité des faux M. vrai a fait un contrat pour fournir a M vrai des lacostes faux quand il ya trop de demande a l'usine en France ... qui fait le vrai??
autre gag ... une fameuse maison de cognac français a son distributeur .en thailande .. et M cognac a remarquer que il ya du faux .. offusquer .. il demande au distributeur de faire quelque chose .. le distributeur dit mais c;est moi qui fait également ces faux !! furieux cognac veut dénoncer le contrat ... mais pas si évident ... donc il a accepter que M le distributeur fasse du faux ... au mois il vendra un peut du vrai ..
Mais la plame d'or en matière de faux .. fut un accident d'hélicoptère .. en Iran au moment ou Komeni a pris le pouvoir .. et que il y avait des américains en otage dans l'ambassade des us ..
on a envoyer une mission secrète pour délivrer la nuit via hélicoptère ... un de ses hélicoptère s'est plantée ... et la mission annulée ... après enquête ... c'est le rotor de l'hélicoptère qui a casser ... il était made in thailand !!!
dans le genre excentrique .. j'en connais une très bonne .. je connais un allemand .. qui passe des fausses Rolex en Allemagne .. cela n'a rien de spécial .. mais .. en Allemagne il les démontes .. et tempe le boîtier dans un bain d'or a 18 carats.. puis remonte le mécanisme ... va chez Rolex et demande si c'est une vraie ou fausse .. voyant que c'est de l'or .. ils délivrent un certificat d'authenticité ........ et le revend en général au turc en mal de show ......
cela fait + de 15 ans que ce monsieur vit de cela ...
personnellement je ne conseille personne a passer du faux .. la plainte des grandes marques de montres .. est 7 fois la valeur de la vrai !.. si ils le désirent ..c'est pour donner l'exemple ..

On est bien d'accord : On ne parle pas des marchés mais des centres commerciaux.
Il y a 3 catégories de centre commerciaux à Bangkok : les moins cher, les moyens et les plus chers.
1. Les moins chers : ex. : MBK, Bobei center au Prince Palace Hotel.
On y trouve beaucoup de vêtements sans marque ou des marques locales pour pas cher. Attention !!! Il y a aussi des copies. Les Jeans 501 qui s’y vendent ne sont pas des vrais pour certains. Dans MBK, il faut distinguer les boutiques des étals de marchands qui louent leur emplacement au centre MBK. Ce sont souvent des vêtements imitations de Bobei (centre de vente au gros) ou de Pratunam.
Pour le genre, je préfère le Bobei center qui se situe dans le Prince Palace Hotel Tower. C’est le Pratunam climatisé
2. Les moyens : Central World (ex-Worls Trade Center) et tous les magasins Central, Amarin center, tous les “The Mall”, tous les “Robinson”, etc.
On y trouve des marques de moyenne qualité ex. : Lacoste, Levi’s, CAT, Reebok, Adidas, etc. Les prix sont meilleurs qu’en France.
3. Les plus chers : Gaysorn Plaza, Emporium
On y trouve les plus grandes marques : LV, Hermès, Dior, Versace, Dunhill, Calvin Klein, etc., etc., etc.
Même prix qu’en France, parfois plus cher.
A propos de marques qui n’existent pas en Thailande :
Tout d’abord il faut savoir que pratiquement toutes les marques de prêt à porter font faire faire leur vêtements en Thailande. C’est moins cher.
Il est vrai que sur la place de Bangkok, on ne trouve pas certaines marques. Il y a plusieurs raisons à cela. Mais, parmi toutes ces raisons, on ne connait pas souvent celle qui est dictée par la loi Thailandaise de protection du marché. Un investisseur étranger qui veut faire produire en Thailande a 3 solutions :
- Investir à 100 % et faire sa propre production
- Trouver un partenaire thai pour investir moins : Joint Venture style 49 % et 51 %
- Passer des commandes au coup par coup à des usines de textiles sur place
Ce qu’il faut savoir que, seul, dans le 1er des cas, l’investisseur qui investit à 100 % ne pas vendre en Thailande directement pour ne pas défavoriser le marché des producteurs locaux. Il devra exporter de Thailande toute sa production (en fait au moins 90%). C’est pourquoi on ne trouve pas certaines marques en Thailande . Ex. : Chevignon.

VRAI .. mais la Thailande étant ce que elle est .. on peut trouver quel ques boutiques spécialiser dans la marchandise destinée que a l'export .. ( derrière la BBK bank sur silom ) dans ( the mall tha pha ).. a MBK .. et je suppose a cachuchat .

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. For those familiar with SOUTHEAST ASIA, I'm planning to leave in mid-June (with the trip ending at the latest in November), and I don’t have a precise idea of exact places or itineraries yet. The thing is, this period is usually the rainy season...
Any advice? I was thinking of Malaysia or Indonesia, like Sulawesi, for example (all countries and islands in Southeast Asia interest me except Bali).
Any recommendations? I’m doing my research online, but if anyone here has the time and knowledge, I’d love to hear from you.
My partner and I are planning a trip to Indonesia in September-October 2026. It’ll be our first time in Asia, and we’re thinking of hitting the classic spots in East Java and Bali, then wrapping up with a cruise around Komodo for some snorkeling/diving. My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
