Hi, I’d love to get your thoughts on a one-way transfer from Cairo to Hurghada on January 2nd. I’m traveling with my parents and I’m torn between a private car transfer or flying with Air Cairo (a bit worried about last-minute cancellations or delays).
We’d leave around 10 AM. Is the road dangerous by car?
If flying, is Air Cairo a reliable airline?
Thanks!
Hitting the road is a bit of a lucky dip, just like in any country, and it’s no more dangerous in Egypt. That said, there’s no such thing as zero risk anywhere.
For domestic flights, we usually go with AirNile. It’s often cheaper depending on the season, the cabin crew is great, the planes are clean and quite comfortable, and we’ve never had any issues with this airline—I’m not saying it couldn’t happen, though.
Check their website for prices and book as soon as you find a good deal.
Also, I don’t know if you’re aware (and this tip works for any online search), once you’ve finished your search and are about to shut down your PC, clear your browser history. Then, without closing the browser, delete all navigation data. Why? It’s simple—all searches leave traces, and if you go back to look for the same flights without clearing your data, the prices might have changed. It’s not that the plane has filled up; it’s just a common tactic to "push" you into booking.
Back to the road: if you’re driving your own vehicle, the price is per car, not per person. Alternatively, you can take the bus, like Gobus or Super Jet. We always take Gobus, but for routes like Cairo-Hurghada, opt for the "business" class (I think that’s what it’s called)—it’s more comfortable with wider seats.
Just a heads-up: book your tickets at least 24 to 48 hours in advance and grab your return tickets if you need them. For your schedule, check which bus departs closest to your preferred time.
Re: Transfer from Cairo to Hurghada: car or plane?
Thanks so much for the info! 😊 Unfortunately, "Air Nil," which is great and I know it well, doesn’t fly to Hurghada. I’m looking for a reliable driver through an agency. If you have a contact, I’d love to hear it.
Hi everyone,
Yes, AirNile only flies along the Nile—I checked afterward.
Don’t book through an agency; you’ll pay way more.
I’ll DM you the details.
