Mon petit-ami et moi prévoyons un voyage en Egypte. Nous partirons le 3 novembre d'Assouan pour aller à Abu Simbel où nous avons réservé une nuit d'hôtel afin de voir le lever du soleil sur les temples le lendemain matin.
Suite à cela, j'essaie de me renseigner pour booker un transfert en minibus Abu Simbel -> Assouan dans la matinée, après le lever de soleil, donc à partir de 6h45.
J'ai cru comprendre sur différents forum qu'il y avait un minibus qui partait à 13h d'Abu Simbel mais aucune idée s'il y en a qui parte plus tôt, mais je l'espère...
Car après ça nous aimerions nous rendre à Marsa Allam pour aller profiter de la Mer rouge ! Ce spot étant apparemment plus intéressant qu'Hurghada !
Nous souhaitons donc faire la trajet en une journée si possible d'Abu Simbel à Marsa Allam.
Savez-vous si cela est possible?
Après le retour en minibus d'Abu Simbel, nous comptons prendre le train de Assouan à Louxor (environ 3h de trajet)
puis ensuite effectuer Louxor -> Marsa Allam mais je n'arrive pas à trouver d'info sur ce trajet, si jamais quelqu'un pouvait m'éclairer s'il vous plait?

Ou bien c'est avec ce transport que vous êtes venus la veille et il aura passé la nuit sur place, ou bien il devrait venir d'Assouan ; 1er départ à 4:00 A M, il ne serait pas là avant 7:30 et repartira vers 1 :00 A M ...
La question , comment êtes-vous arrivés à Abu Simbel ?
Là est la solution : peut-être peut-il vous attendre ( moyennent finance, bien sûr ) ??? Dans ce cas , ce serait un véhicule privé pour vous ?
Prenons la 1ère solution : vous prenez le bus à 1:00 , arrivée Aswan vers 4:30 PM . La durée du transfert prévue pour M A est de 6h30 à 7h .
Ce transfert nécessite effectivement une photocopie de vos passeports que nous avons transmis (c'est pour le permis de voyage qui doit être fait au plus tard 24 h avant le transfert prévu).
Les touristes étrangers ne peuvent pas prendre un transport la nuit donc impossible d'aller à M A le jour -même .
Il faudrait donc dormir à Aswan ...
2ème solution : bus à A S à 7 : 00 , arrivée : 10: 30 .
C'est possible si vous louez un véhicule privé : arrivée vers 19 h ...!
Les 'go bus' ne font pas ce trajet !
Par contre , les "Go Bus" vont de Luxor à Hurghada , par ex : regardez leur site et transformez votre itinéraire ou acceptez de payer plus cher pour un transfert privé : je ne vois pas d'autre idée .

Vu que vous reviendrez d'Abu Simbel , l'idéal pour vous serait : " plus proche d'Assouan", question temps, mais d'Edfou, je ne crois pas qu'il y ait des bus (???).
Je pense qu'il faut simplifier l'itinéraire et choisir, en priorité, les destinations selon les transports : c'est l'Egypte !

Effectivement, aller à Marsa Alam me parait compliqué...
Nous allons peut être plutôt nous tourner vers El Quseir ou Safaga.
J'ai trouvé un petit hôtel sympa et pas cher à El Quseir donc nous avons une préférence pour cette destination. De plus je me dis que plus on s'éloigne d'Hurghada, plus les fonds sont préservés (peut etre?)
Seulement la navette de retour d'Abu Simbel est un peu tard, à 13h et n'ayant que du 5 au 8 novembre pour être sur la côte de la Mer Rouge, c'est pourquoi nous aimerions effectuer tout le trajet en une journée.. j'espère que ce ne sera pas trop ambitieux de notre part et que nous trouverons une solution..
Pour aller à Abu Simbel, nous passerons sûrement par notre hôtel à Assouan, je leur ai envoyé un message pour savoir s'il était possible d'avoir un retour d'Abu Simbel le lendemain matin mais pas de réponse pour le moment.
Je ne sais pas si nous aurons le budget pour un taxi privé, à voir combien cela peut coûter, j'en ai aucune idée.

J'ai compris la problématique !D'abord , allez voir ce mini carnet que j'avais fait, à la demande d'amis du forum USA, pour leur montrer des levers et couchers de soleil, mais en Egypte :
Peut être l'avez vous déjà lu ...
J'explique que le phénomène que vous voyez dans les photos n'arrivent que 2 jours par an : le 22/02 et le 22/10 .
Les photos ont été prises le 1/03, donc une semaine après le 22 : comment est ce encore possible ?
Le phénomène est toujours visible, mais en moins 'complet' car le soleil ne tourne que de quelques degrés par jour et, environ 1 semaine avant ou après la date pivot, le soleil pénètre encore jusqu'au fond le temple, durant quelques minutes . Au delà, le soleil est trop bas, puis trop haut et décalé et il ne frappe plus les statues .
Vous y seriez le 3 / 11 : c'est 11 jours après le 22/10 et c'est trop tard ...
De plus , il n'y a RIEN à faire à A S : les temples ou repos , piscine si ... : c'est tout et, dans votre cas, c'est du temps perdu ...
Oubliez le "lever du soleil" avec les rayons sur les statues mais venez, en A R, le 3 / 11 et arrivez le plus tôt possible .
Les bus ne peuvent quitter Aswan avant 4 : 00 AM ( saut le 22 / 10 ... : journée spéciale ; 1000 personnes l'an passé , parait-il !!! ) .
Prenez ce bus - là : arrivée vers 6:30, 7: 00 : vous aurez la plus belle lumière sur les façades ... et l'intérieur est magique !
L'ap. midi , les façades sont à l'ombre , ce qui gâche la vue de l'extérieur .
Vous aurez 3 heures, au minimum, là bas et vous reprenez le bus de 13 h, retour à Assouan vers 16h30 .
Vous aurez donc encore la soirée à Aswan ( repos bien mérité, balades, les souks les + sympa du pays ... ) et pourrez organiser votre séjour Mer Rouge avec un départ et une arrivée le 4/11 !

A Assouan, nous avons pris une nuit à l'hôtel Keylani qui propose le transport Assouan Abou Simbel à 35 US dollar l'aller minibus partagé, départ 4h arrivée 7h et pour le retour un minibus partagé à 35 US dollar départ 9h d'Abou Simbel et arrivée 13h à Assouan.
J'espère que la personne de l'hôtel a bien compris que l'on restait une nuit à Abou Simbel....
Car je me disais sinon, imaginons que le 2 novembre (où nous viendrions juste de terminer une croisière de Louxor à Assouan en Dahabeya débutant le 27 octobre) nous décidons de partir directement pour Abou Simbel, comme nous n'aurions pas passer de nuit à l'hôtel, par qui puis-je passer pour booker un transport en minibus partagé pour Abou Simbel ?
C'est vrai que c'est dommage pour les dates nous y serons un tout petit peu trop tard... Mais nous ne pouvions faire autrement...

Revoyez les données de la croisière et demandez à votre contact qu'il vous trouve un logement à A . Simbel : comme déjà dit, c'est l'Egypte !!!
Vous terminerez une croisière en dahabeya le vendredi 1 ou le 2 / 11 ? (est-ce bien cela ? Nous l'avons fait 2 X et j'ai le souvenir que, partant le dimanche 27/10, on arrive à Aswan le vendredi en début d'ap. midi, après la visite de Philae ) .
Vous auriez donc 1 nuit au Keylani ; sinon, qq chose m'échappe !

Si ce bus vous ramène vers 12:30 aAssouan , vous pouvez prendre le train de 15 h vers Luxor ( c’est celui que nous avons pris plusieurs X ! ) et vous serez a Luxor a 18 h 30 .
Le lendemain matin , transfert a Qseir ....

J’étais à Port Ghalib et je me suis renseigné pour le trajet Marsa Alam - Assouan. D’après un égyptien qui parlait français, il y aurait des microbus entre Marsa Alam et Edfou. A partir d’Edfou, soit on prend un autre microbus, un bus ou le train pour rejoindre Assouan. Il m’a assuré que les touristes étrangers avaient le droit de faire le trajet Marsa Alam - Edfou.
Quant au tarif, toujours selon lui, voici les prix approximatifs que pairaient les Égyptiens :
Port Ghalib - Marsa Alam : environ 80 livres.
Marsa Alam - Edfou : environ 80 livres.
Edfou - Assouan : environ 30 livres.
Toutefois ne comptez pas obtenir ces prix-là en tant que touristes étrangers.

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.

We’re planning a trip to Morocco in September-October in our Fiat camper van, which isn’t a 4x4 but has already handled quite a bit of rough travel. While reading up on southern Morocco, we’ve been drawn to the Aguinane oasis but I’m having trouble locating it on the map. Is it possible to get there without a 4x4?
