Hi, we arrive in Bangkok Thursday around noon and take the overnight train to Chiang Mai (Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station-Chiang Mai). Since Chatuchak Market isn’t far from the station, we’re planning to spend the afternoon there—but how do we get there from the airport? Thanks

Hi, Just like getting from the airport to Aphiwat Station (as explained in one of your other questions), except you get off at Chatuchak Park Station. From there, you’ll need to walk a bit through a busy area toward the southwest. If I were you, I’d head to the station first to drop my bag in a locker. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the market is only open for flower and plant sales.

Hey! So you're gonna be a bit tight on time there, honestly. Noon at Suvarnabhumi isn't bad, and Chatuchak is great, but don't dawdle if you need to be at the station in the evening.

Personally, I'd recommend the Airport Rail Link—it's by far the easiest option. You take it straight from the terminal, and it goes to Bangkok Central (or Krung Thep Aphiwat now that they've changed the name), which is perfect since that's your departure station. From what I remember, it costs around 45 € one way—it's not cheap, but you save a ton of time compared to a taxi or bus. Figure about 30 minutes.

Once you arrive at the station, take a taxi or Grab to Chatuchak. I've never really timed it, but it's roughly 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The market is absolutely massive—you need at least 2-3 hours to really enjoy it, or you'll end up frustrated.

Double-check this, but I think the market closes around 6 PM? So keep an eye on your overnight train schedule to be sure. I don't know about those people who say "oh, you can take your time"—I just don't like rushing to the station with luggage.

Anyway, take the Airport Rail Link straight to your station, then Grab to Chatuchak. It's doable in two hours if you move quickly, but honestly, don't linger too much. Safe travels!

Wow, you really outdid yourself with the nonsense here!... If you ever go to Thailand, definitely don’t follow your info and advice.
